⁵ For he raised a testimony in Jacob, and set a law in Israel; which he commanded our fathers, to teach them to their sons;

¹⁹ For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.

¹⁶ And you shall put the testimony into the ark, which I shall give to you.

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making the simple wise.

³ those which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their sons; to declare to the coming generation the praises of Jehovah; yea, His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

⁵ This He ordained as a testimony in Joseph, when He went out over the land of Egypt; I heard a lip I did not understand.

¹⁵² Of old I have known from Your testimonies, for You have founded them forever.

¹⁹ He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no dawn to them!

¹⁹ The living, the living is the one thanking You; as I do today. The father makes known Your truth to his sons.

² Much every way. For first, indeed, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children, but bring them up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; because this is the witness of God which He has witnessed about His Son: ¹⁰ The one believing in the Son of God has the witness in himself. The one not believing God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness which God has witnessed concerning His Son. ¹¹ And this is the witness: that God gave us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son. ¹² The one having the Son has life. The one not having the Son of God does not have life.
