⁸ Cause me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones You have crushed may rejoice.

¹⁷ Behold, blessed is the man whom God corrects; and despise not the chastisement of the Almighty. ¹⁸ For He wounds, and He binds up. He shatters, and His hands heal.

² have mercy on me, O Jehovah, for I am weak; heal me, O Jehovah, for my bones are troubled. ³ My soul also is greatly troubled and You, O Jehovah, until when?

⁵ But I have trusted in Your mercy. My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

¹¹ You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have loosed my sackcloth and have clothed me with gladness.

¹⁰ All my bones shall say: O Jehovah, who is like You, who delivers the poor from those stronger than he; yes, the poor and needy from his plunderer?

³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger; nor peace in my bones because of my sin.

⁸¹ Kaph. My soul is being consumed for Your salvation; I hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for Your word, saying, When will You comfort me?

⁵ Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. ⁶ Surely he who walks and weeps, bearing a trail of seed, shall come again with joyful shouting, bearing his sheaves.

¹⁰ And the ransomed of Jehovah shall return and enter Zion, with singing and everlasting joy on their head; gladness and joy shall reach them; and sorrow and sighing shall flee.

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones. ¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry, for the spirit would faint before Me, even the breaths I have made. ¹⁷ For I was angry and struck him for the iniquity of his gain; I hid Myself and was angry; yet he went, turning in his heart's way. ¹⁸ His ways I have seen, but I will heal him, and will lead him and restore comforting to him and to his mourners.

¹ Come and let us return to Jehovah. For He has torn, and He will heal us. He has stricken, and He will bind us up. ² After two days He will bring us to life. In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him.

⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted.

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call. ⁴⁰ And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation. ⁴¹ Then those who gladly welcomed his words were baptized. And about three thousand souls were added that day.

²⁹ And asking for lights, he rushed in. And becoming trembly, he fell before Paul and Silas. ³⁰ And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved? ³¹ And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. ³² And they spoke the Word of the Lord to him, and to all those in his house. ³³ And taking them in that hour of the night, he washed from their stripes. And he and all those belonging to him were baptized at once. ³⁴ And bringing them up to the house, he set a table before them, and exulted whole-housely, believing God.
