¹ A Prayer of David. O Jehovah, hear righteousness; listen to my cry; give ear to my prayer, for it is not in lips of deceit. ² Let my judgment go out from Your face; Your eyes see uprightly. ³ You will test my heart; You will visit in the night; You will refine me; You will find nothing; my thoughts do not pass beyond my mouth. ⁴ As to the work of men, by the words of Your lips I keep from the paths of the violent. ⁵ My steps have kept in Your tracks, so that my strides have not slipped. ⁶ I have called on You, for You will answer me, O God; bow down Your ear to me and hear my word. ⁷ Set out your wonderful loving-kindness by Your right hand, O Savior of those who trust in You, from those rising against them . ⁸ Keep me as the pupil, the daughter of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings, ⁹ from the face of the wicked who stripped me; against my soul, my enemies go all around me. ¹⁰ They are enclosed in their own fat; their mouth speaks proudly; ¹¹ now they have hemmed in our steps; they set their eyes to cast me to the earth; ¹² like a lion who longs to tear, and like a young lion sitting in hidden dens. ¹³ Arise, O Jehovah, go before his face and bow him down! Deliver my soul from the wicked, by Your sword, ¹⁴ from men, by Your hand, O Jehovah, from men of the world whose portion is in this life, and their belly You fill with Your treasure; they are satisfied with sons, and will leave their riches to their babes. ¹⁵ As for me, in righteousness I will look upon Your face; when I awaken, I shall be satisfied by Your image.

¹⁵ Now My eyes shall be open, and My ears attentive to the prayer of this place;

⁶ let Your ear now be open, and Your eyes open, so that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You today, day and night, for Your servants the sons of Israel; and confessing the sins of the sons of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both I and my father's house have sinned.

² Attend to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for I will pray to You.

⁸ Jehovah will judge the people. O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity on me.

²⁰ Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands, He has repaid me.

⁴⁴ At the hearing of the ear they listen to me; the sons of foreigners shall bow down to me.

¹ Judge me, O God, and strive for my cause against a nation not godly. Deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.

² Pay attention to me, and answer me; I wander and I moan in my complaint, ³ from the voice of the enemy, from the oppression of the wicked; for they shake trouble over me, and in anger they hate me.

¹ To the chief musician. On stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God, and listen to my prayer.

¹⁹ Surely, God has heard; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

¹ A Prayer of David O Jehovah, bow down Your ear, answer me, for I am poor and needy.

¹² I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, the justice of the poor.

¹ An Instruction of David, a Prayer, in his being in the cave. I cry to Jehovah with my voice; I pray to Jehovah with my voice.

⁶ Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low; deliver me from those who pursue me; for they are stronger than I.

¹⁸ Jehovah is near to all who call on Him, to all those who call on Him in truth.

¹³ And the Lord says, Because this people draws near with its mouth, and they honor Me with its lip; but its heart is far from Me, and their fear of Me is taught by the command of men;

¹⁰ And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but with falsehood, says Jehovah.

¹⁸ O my God, bow down Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our ruins and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God. For Your name is called on Your city and on Your people.

⁸ "This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with their lips honor Me; but their heart is far from Me.

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him and said concerning him, Behold, truly an Israelite in whom is no guile!

²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence with God.

⁶ And He will bring forth your righteousness like the light; and your judgment like the noon day.

³³ Jehovah does not leave him in his hand, nor allow him to be found guilty in his judgment.

²⁵ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. Hear now, O house of Israel. Is My way not fair? Are your ways not unfair?

²⁹ But the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not fair. Are My ways not fair, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not fair?

¹⁷ Yet the sons of your people say, The way of the Lord is not fair. But they, even their way is not fair.

²⁰ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. I shall judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel.

⁶ since it is a just thing with God to pay back tribulation to the ones troubling you, ⁷ and to give you, those being troubled, relief with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with angels of His power, ⁸ in flaming fire giving full vengeance to those not knowing God, and to those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, Isa. 66:15; Jer. 10:25 ⁹ who will pay the penalty: everlasting destruction from the face of the Lord, "and from the glory of His strength," Isa. 2:20

²⁴ Now to Him being able to keep you without stumbling, and to set you before His glory without blemish, with unspeakable joy;

¹⁰ See, this day your eyes have seen how Jehovah has delivered you today into my hand in the cave. And one said to kill you, but I had pity on you. And I said, I shall not put out my hand against my lord, for he is the anointed of Jehovah.

¹² Jehovah shall judge between you and me, and Jehovah shall avenge me of you. But my hand shall not be on you.

¹¹ far be it from me, by Jehovah, from putting forth my hand against the anointed of Jehovah. And now, please take the spear at his head-place, and the jar of water, and we will go.

²³ And Jehovah will return to each his righteousness and his faithfulness, in that Jehovah has delivered you into my hand, and I have not been willing to put forth my hand against the anointed of Jehovah.

¹⁰ But He knows the way with me. When I am tried, I shall come forth as gold.

¹⁴ The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night he is a thief.

⁴ if I have repaid evil to my friend or I have plundered my vexer without cause,

⁵ Jehovah tries the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the lover of violence.

⁷ I will bless Jehovah, who counseled me. My reins also teach me in the nights.

² Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me; purify my reins and my heart.

¹ To the chief musician, to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said, I will keep my ways from sinning with my tongue; I will keep my mouth with a muzzle while the wicked are before me.

¹⁷ All this has come upon us, and we have not forgotten You nor dealt falsely with Your covenant. ¹⁸ Our heart has not turned back, and our steps have not swerved from Your way, ¹⁹ though You have crushed us in the place of jackals and covered us over with the death-shade. ²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God, and have spread our hands to an alien god, ²¹ shall not God search out this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

¹⁰ For You, O God, have proved us; You have tested us as silver is refined.

¹⁰⁶ I have sworn and I rise to it, to keep Your righteous judgments.

³ He who guards his mouth keeps his life; he who opens his lips wide is ruined.

²⁰ In those days, and at that time, states Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall not be sought for, and it is not; and the sins of Judah, and they will not be found; for I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.

⁶ For they have brought their heart near, like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all night; in the morning, it burns like a flaming fire.

¹ Woe to those plotting wickedness and preparing evil on their beds! In the light of the morning they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, It is My people, and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

² But who can endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap.

²³ who having come, and seeing the grace of God, rejoiced. And he exhorted all with purpose of heart to abide near the Lord.

⁹ And a vision appeared to Paul during the night: a certain man of Macedonia was standing, entreating him and saying, Passing over into Macedonia, help us!

⁹ And the Lord said to Paul through a vision in the night, Do not fear, but speak, and do not keep silence; ¹⁰ because I am with you, and no one shall set on you to oppress you; because there is much people to Me in this city.

⁴ For I know nothing of myself, but I have not been justified by this; but He judging me is the Lord.

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

² For we all stumble in many ways . If any one does not stumble in word, this one is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.

⁷ so that the proving of your faith, much more precious than perishing gold, but having been proved through fire, may be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

⁵ And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long.

¹¹ And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

¹⁶ How much more is filthy man loathed, who drinks iniquity like water!

³³ if I covered my transgressions like Adam, by hiding my iniquity in my bosom,

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God! They acted corruptly; they did hatefully in deeds; there is none doing good. ² Jehovah looked down from Heaven on the sons of mankind, to see if there were any discerning and seeking God: ³ they have all turned aside; together they have become filthy; there is none doing good; not even one!

⁹ Beth By what shall a young man purify his way, to keep it according to Your word? ¹⁰ I have sought You with my whole heart; do not let me wander from Your commands. ¹¹ I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

¹⁰ When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasing to your soul, ¹¹ discretion shall keep you, understanding shall watch over you; ¹² to deliver you from the evil way, from the man who speaks perverse things; ¹³ those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, ¹⁴ who rejoice to do evil; they delight in the perversities of the wicked; ¹⁵ whose paths are crooked, who are devious in their tracks.

⁴ But answering, He said, It has been written: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word going out of the mouth of God." Deut. 8:3

⁷ Jesus said to him, Again it has been written: "You shall not tempt the Lord your God." Deut. 6:16

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, Go, Satan! For it has been written: "You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve Him only." Deut. 6:13

¹⁷ Sanctify them in Your truth; Your Word is truth.

³ For you are yet fleshly. For where among you is jealousy, and strife, and divisions, are you not fleshly and walk according to man?

¹⁷ Also, take "the helmet of salvation," and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; Isa. 59:17 LXX-Isa. 11:4; MT-Isa. 49:2; LXX and MT-Hos. 6:5

¹⁸ Having purposed, He brought us forth by the word of truth, for us to be a certain firstfruit of His creatures.

² for him no longer to live in the lusts of men, but to live the remaining time in the flesh in the will of God. ³ For the time of life having passed is sufficient for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, parties, carousings, and unlawful idolatries;

⁸ Be sensible, watch, because your adversary the Devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking someone he may devour;

¹¹ And they have a king over them, the angel of the abyss. In Hebrew his name was Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

¹¹ And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul even until death.

⁹ He keeps the feet of His saints, and the wicked are silenced in darkness; for man does not become mighty by power.

¹¹ My foot has held fast in His steps; I have kept His way and have not turned;

³⁶ You have made a wide place under me for my steps, so that my ankles have not slipped.

¹⁶ For I said, Lest they rejoice over me in the slipping of my foot; they exalt themselves over me.

¹⁸ Our heart has not turned back, and our steps have not swerved from Your way,

¹⁸ If I said, My foot slides, O Jehovah, Your mercy has held me up.

¹¹⁶ Uphold me by Your word, that I may live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope. ¹¹⁷ Hold me up and I will be saved; and I will always look to Your statutes.

¹³³ Fix my steps in Your word; and let no evil rule over me.

³ He will not give your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.

⁷ Jehovah shall keep you from all evil; He shall keep your soul.

²³ O Jehovah, I know that his way does not belong to man; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

³ Look! Answer me, O Jehovah, my God! Make my eyes gleam, lest I sleep the death; ⁴ lest my enemy say, I have overcome him and my foes rejoice when I am shaken.

¹⁶ I, even I, will call to God, and Jehovah will save me.

¹⁹ Surely, God has heard; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. ²⁰ Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer and His mercy from me!

⁷ I will call on You in the day of my trouble, for You will answer me.

² Let my prayer come before You; bow down Your ear to my cry.

² Because He has bowed His ear to me, I will also call in my days.

¹⁷ Bow down Your ear, O Jehovah, and hear. Open Your eye, O Jehovah, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib which he has sent, to reproach the living God.

²⁰ And now, O Jehovah our God, save us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are Jehovah, You alone.

¹⁷ And now, hear, O our God, the prayer of Your servant and his holy desires, and cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the sake of the Lord.

⁶ Your right hand, O Jehovah, is glorious in power; O Jehovah, Your right dashes the enemy to pieces.

⁴⁵ And David said to the Philistine, You are coming to me with sword, and with spear, and with javelin. But I am coming to you in the name of Jehovah of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, which you have reproached. ⁴⁶ Today Jehovah shall shut you up into my hand, and I shall strike you, and take off your head from you and give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the heavens and to the beasts of the earth today. And all the earth shall know that there is a God for Israel. ⁴⁷ And all this company shall know that Jehovah does not save by sword and by spear, but that the battle belongs to Jehovah, and He has given you into our hand. ⁴⁸ And it happened, when the Philistine arose and went, and drew near to meet David, David hurried and ran toward the ranks to meet the Philistine. ⁴⁹ And David put his hand into the pouch and took a stone from there. And he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead. And the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. ⁵⁰ And David was stronger than the Philistine with the sling and with the stone. And he struck the Philistine and killed him. And there was no sword in David's hand. ⁵¹ And David ran and stood over the Philistine, and took his sword; and he drew it out of its sheath and killed him. And he cut off his head with it. And the Philistines saw that their warrior was dead, and they fled. ⁵² And the men of Israel and Judah rose up and shouted, and pursued the Philistines until you enter the valley, even to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell in the way of Shaaraim, even to Gath, and to Ekron. ⁵³ And the sons of Israel returned from hotly pursuing the Philistines; and they pillaged their camps. ⁵⁴ And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem; and he put his weapons in his own tent. ⁵⁵ And when Saul saw David going out to meet the Philistine, he said to Abner, the army commander, Whose son is this youth, Abner? And Abner said, As your soul lives, O king, I do not know. ⁵⁶ And the king said, You ask whose son this young man is . ⁵⁷ And when David returned from striking the Philistine, then Abner took him and brought him before Saul; and the head of the Philistine was in his hand.

²⁸ I beg you, bear with the transgression of your handmaid, for Jehovah shall certainly make a sure house for my lord. For my lord has fought the battles of Jehovah, and evil has not been found in you all your days. ²⁹ And if a man rises up to pursue you, and to seek your soul (and the soul of my lord has been bound up in the bundle of life with Jehovah your God). And the souls of your enemies, He shall sling them from the hollow of the sling.

²² Whom have you reproached and reviled? Against whom have you lifted up a voice? Yea, you have lifted up your eyes on high, even against the Holy One of Israel!

³⁴ For I will defend this city, to save it, for My own sake, and for My servant David's sake.

⁹ For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro in all the earth in order to be strong for those with their heart perfect toward Him. You have acted foolishly in this. For this reason, from now on there shall be wars with you.

¹¹ But let all who put their trust in You rejoice; let them shout for joy forever, because You cover them. And let those who love Your name be joyful in You. ¹² For You, O Jehovah, will bless the righteous; You will surround him with favor, as with a shield.

¹² Arise, O Jehovah! O God, lift up your hand; do not forget the lowly ones. ¹³ Why does the wicked one despise God? He has said in his heart, You will not inquire into us ¹⁴ You have seen, for You take note of mischief and vexation, to repay with Your hand. The poor leaves himself to You; You are the helper of the orphan. ¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; search out his wickedness until You find none. ¹⁶ Jehovah is king forever and ever; the nations have perished out of His land.

⁶ Now I know that Jehovah saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy Heaven with the saving strengths of His right hand.

²¹ Blessed be Jehovah, for He has worked His mercy wondrously to me in a besieged city.

³ For they did not inherit the land with their own sword; yea, their own arm did not save them. But it was Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your face, because You favored them.

⁵ Save with Your right hand and answer me, that Your beloved may be delivered.

¹² He did wonders before their fathers in the land of Egypt, the field of Zoan.

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you; do not gaze about, for I am your God; I will make you strong; yea, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.

³³ Then being exalted to the right of God, and receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded, ²¹ that as sin ruled in death, so also grace might rule through righteousness to everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, righteous and true are Your ways, King of the saints.

¹⁰ He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness. He encircled him and cared for him; He guarded him as the pupil of His eye.

¹² Jehovah shall repay your work, and your reward shall be complete from Jehovah the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.

⁷ How precious is Your mercy, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

¹ To the chief musician. Do not destroy. A secret treasure of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul trusts in You; yea, in the shadow of Your wings I will make my hiding place, until the great destruction passes by.

⁴ I will dwell in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah.

⁷ For You have been a help to me, and I will rejoice under the shadow of Your wings.

¹ He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shade of the Almighty.

⁴ With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler.

² Keep my commands and live, and my law as the pupil of your eye.

⁸ For so says Jehovah of hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations who plundered you; for he who touches you touches the pupil of His eye.

³⁷ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her. How often I desired to gather your children in the way a bird gathers her chicks under her wings! And you did not desire it.

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it .

¹¹ And my father, behold! Yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand. For in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you are hunting my soul, to take it.

⁹ And I will prepare a place for My people Israel, and he will plant, and he will dwell in his place, and shall not be made to tremble any more; nor shall the sons of wickedness waste him any more, as at the first;

⁵ let the enemy pursue and overtake my soul; yea, trample down my life to earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

²⁰ In the secrecy of Your presence You shall hide them from man's plots; You shall cover them in a booth, from the strife of tongues.

⁴ Let those who seek my soul be ashamed and disgraced; let them be turned back and brought to confusion, those who plot evil to me.

⁷ For they have hidden their pit-net for me without cause; without cause they have dug for my soul.

¹² they rewarded me evil for good, bereaving my soul.

² And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah that I should listen to His voice to send away Israel? I do not know Jehovah, and I also will not send Israel away.

⁹ The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul shall be filled with them; I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.

¹⁵ But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked; you grew fat, thick and sated. And he abandoned God who made him, and fell away from the Rock of his salvation.

³ Do not multiply your haughty words; let not arrogance go out from your mouth; for Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.

²⁷ because he has covered his face with fat; yea, he has put fat on his loins.

³ Jehovah shall cut off all with flattering lips and the tongue that speaks great things; ⁴ Who say, We shall be strong by our tongue; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be silenced which speak recklessly against the righteous with pride and scorn.

⁷ Their eyes go out with fatness; they have passed the imaginations of the heart. ⁸ They scoff and speak in malice; from on high they speak cruelty. ⁹ They set their mouth in the heavens; and their tongues walk through the earth.

⁷⁰ Their heart is like fat, without feeling; I delight in Your law.

⁴ Our soul is exceedingly filled for itself with the contempt of those who are at ease, the scorn of the proud.

¹⁰ Make the heart of this people fat, and make his ears heavy, and shut his eyes, that he not see with his eyes, and hear with his ears, and understand with his heart, and turn back, and one heals him.

¹⁵ For the heart of this people has grown fat, and they heard sluggishly with the ears, and they have closed their eyes, that they not see with the eyes, or hear with the ears, and understand with the heart, and be converted, and I heal them." LXX-Isa. 6:9, 10

²⁷ for the heart of this people was fattened, and they have heard with the ears heavily; and they closed their eyes lest at any time they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." Isa. 6:9, 10

¹⁸ For speaking great swelling words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure those indeed escaping the ones living in error,

⁵ And a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given to it. And authority to act forty two months was given to it. ⁶ And it opened its mouth in blasphemy toward God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those tabernacling in Heaven.

²⁶ And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain. And David was hurrying to go away from the face of Saul. And Saul and his men were encircling David and his men, to catch them.

² And Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men on the front of the rocks of the wild goats. ³ And on the way he came in to the folds of the flock. And there was a cave. And Saul went in to cover his feet. And David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.

² And Saul rose up and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, and three thousand men were with him, chosen ones of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph. ³ And Saul camped in the hill of Hachilah which is on the face of the desert, by the highway. And David was staying in the wilderness. And he saw that Saul had come after him into the wilderness.

⁸ He sits in the hiding places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes watch against the poor. ⁹ He lies in wait secretly like a lion in his den; he lies in ambush to catch the poor; he seizes the poor, drawing him into his net; ¹⁰ and being crushed, he bows; and the poor have fallen by his strong ones.

¹⁴ The wicked have drawn out the sword and they have trodden their bow, to cause the poor and needy to fall; to kill those who walk uprightly.

¹⁷ They surrounded me like waters all the day long; they have come together around me.

¹³ winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, teaching with his fingers. ¹⁴ Perversity is in his heart; he is plotting evil at every time, he sends out strife.

² lest he tear my soul like a lion, ripping, and there be no one to deliver.

⁹ He lies in wait secretly like a lion in his den; he lies in ambush to catch the poor; he seizes the poor, drawing him into his net;

¹³ They opened their mouth on Me, like a lion ripping and roaring.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and gave me power, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁷ Arise, O Jehovah! Save me, O my God. For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone. You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

⁶ Arise, O Jehovah, in Your anger; be lifted up at the rage of my vexers; and awake for Me! You have commanded judgment.

¹¹ God is a righteous judge; and God is angry with evildoers every day. ¹² If he will not turn, He will whet His sword; He has trod His bow, He made it ready; ¹³ yea, He has fitted for him instruments of death. He will make ready His arrows for pursuers.

²⁰ Deliver My soul from the sword, My only one from the paw of the dog.

²³ Be aroused! Why do You sleep, O God? Awake! Do not cast us off forever.

²⁶ Arise for our help and redeem us for the sake of Your mercy.

¹²⁶ It is time for Jehovah to work; they have broken Your law.

⁵ Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger! And My fury is the staff in their hand.

¹⁵ Shall the axe glorify itself over him chopping with it? Or shall the saw magnify itself over him moving it? As if a rod could wave those who lift it . As if a staff could raise what is not wood!

⁵ They come from a distant land, from the end of the heavens, Jehovah and the weapons of His wrath, to destroy all the land.

²⁶ Have you not heard it from afar? I have made it from days of old, even I formed it. Now I have caused it to come, and you are to cause fortified cities to crash into heaps, ruins.

⁹ Awake! Awake! Arm of Jehovah, put on strength. Awake, as in days of old, everlasting generations. Was it not You cutting in pieces Rahab, and piercing the sea monster?

¹² Are You not from of old, Jehovah our God, my Holy One? We shall not die, Jehovah, for You have appointed him for judgment. And, my Rock, You have established him for correction.

²⁸ to do whatever Your hand and Your counsel before-determined to be done.

⁶ The tents of plunderers and those provoking God are at ease, to whomever God brings into his hand.

⁹ who of all these does not know that Jehovah's hand has done this?

⁷ Why do the wicked live? They grow old, and become mighty in power. ⁸ Their seed is established with them before their face, and their offspring before their eyes. ⁹ Their houses are in peace, without fear; nor is God's rod on them. ¹⁰ His bull passes semen and does not fail; his cow calves and does not miscarry. ¹¹ They send their little ones out as a flock; and their children dance. ¹² They lift up voice at the timbrel and lyre, and rejoice at the sound of the flute. ¹³ They spend their days in good, and in a moment go down to Sheol. ¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what do we profit if we entreat Him?

²¹ For what is his delight in his house after him, and his number of months is cut off.

¹⁸ Yet He filled their houses with substance; and the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

¹⁴ If his sons become numerous, the sword is for them; and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. ¹⁵ Those remaining of him shall be buried in death, and his widows shall not weep. ¹⁶ Though he heaps up silver like the dust, and prepares clothing like the clay; ¹⁷ he may prepare, but the just shall put it on; and the innocent shall divide the silver.

⁶ surely every man walks about in shadow; surely they are in an uproar in vain; he heaps up and does not know who is gathering them.

¹⁷ for when he dies, he shall take nothing; his glory shall not go down after him. ¹⁸ For in his life he blessed his soul; yea, men praise you when you do well for yourself. ¹⁹ He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall not see light forever.

³ For I was jealous of the proud; I looked upon the peace of the wicked. ⁴ For there are no pangs to their death; but their body is fat. ⁵ They are not in the misery of mortal man; and with men they are not touched. ⁶ So pride enchains them; violence covers them like a robe. ⁷ Their eyes go out with fatness; they have passed the imaginations of the heart.

¹² Behold! These are the ungodly who are always at ease; they increase their riches.

⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as hidden treasures,

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of Heaven is compared to treasure hidden in the field, which finding, a man hid; and for the joy of it, he goes and sells all things, as many as he has, and buys that field.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take rest, eat, drink, and be glad. ²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night they demand your soul from you; and that which you prepared, to whom will it be? ²¹ So is he treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.

⁸ And the lord praised the unrighteous steward, because he acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of light themselves are in their generation.

²⁵ But Abraham said, Child, remember that you fully received your good things in your lifetime, and Lazarus likewise the bad things. But now he is comforted, and you are suffering.

²⁷ And he said, Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father's house; ²⁸ (for I have five brothers, so that he may witness to them, that they not also come to this place of torment).

²³ And He said to them, You are from below; I am from above. You are from this world; I am not from this world.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

¹⁴ I have given them Your Word, and the world hated them because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter;

⁴ Little children, you are of God and have overcome them, because He in you is greater than he in the world. ⁵ They are of the world; because of this they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

²⁶ And God said, let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. ²⁷ And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.

⁸ I speak to him mouth to mouth, and by an appearance, and not in riddles; and he carefully looks upon the form of Jehovah. So why have you not been afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?

¹⁵ And if it seems evil in your eyes to serve Jehovah, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve, whether the gods whom your fathers served Beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

¹² Even so man lies down and does not rise until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

²⁶ and after my skin has been struck off from my flesh, yet this, I shall see God, ²⁷ whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and no stranger; though my reins be exhausted in my bosom.

⁶ Many are saying, Who will show us any good? O Jehovah, lift up the light of Your face on us. ⁷ You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time their grain and their wine grew.

⁷ But I, in the plenty of Your grace, I will come into Your house. I will worship in Your fear toward Your holy temple, O Jehovah.

⁷ For Jehovah is righteous; He loves righteous deeds; the upright look upon His face.

¹¹ You will make Me know the way of life. In Your presence is fullness of joys; at Your right hand are pleasures forever.

⁸ They shall be satisfied from the abundance of Your house; and You make them drink the torrent of Your pleasures. ⁹ For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

¹⁴ Like sheep, they are appointed to Sheol; death shall reign for them; and upright ones shall rule over them in the morning; and their form is for rotting; Sheol is home for him.

⁴ Blessed is the one You choose and cause to come near You; he shall dwell in Your courts; we shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.

¹¹¹ I have inherited Your testimonies forever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹⁹ Your dead ones shall live, my dead body, they shall rise up. Awake and sing, dust dwellers; for the dew of lights is your dew; and the earth shall cast out departed spirits.

⁶ Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled.

⁵² And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. ⁵³ And coming forth out of the tombs after His resurrection, they entered into the holy city and were revealed to many.

¹⁸ But we all with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord Spirit.

²¹ who will transform our body of humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of His power, even to put all things under Himself.

² Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. ³ And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.

¹⁶ And they will not hunger still, nor will they thirst still, nor at all shall fall on them the sun, nor any kind of heat. ¹⁷ Because the Lamb in the midst of the throne will shepherd them, and will lead them on the living fountains of waters; and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

³ And I heard a great voice out of Heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God with men! And He will tabernacle with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. ⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry, nor pain will be any longer; for the first things passed away.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, even its lamp is the Lamb.
