¹ Woe to me! For I am like the gatherings of summer fruit, like the gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; my soul desires the early fig.

⁵ Woe is me that I sojourned in Meshech; I dwell with the tents of Kedar!

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.

⁶ Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree; two or three ripe olives in the top of the uppermost branch; four or five in the fruit tree branches, declares Jehovah God of Israel.

¹³ For it is thus in the midst of the land, among the peoples, it shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as gleanings when the grape harvest is completed.

¹⁶ We have heard songs from the end of the earth, Honor to the Righteous. But I said, Leanness to me! Leanness to me! Woe to me! Traitors betray, even perfidy; traitors betray!

⁴ And the glorious beauty which is on the head of the fat valley shall be a fading flower, like the first ripe fig before summer which the seeing one sees; while it is yet in his hand, he swallows it.

³¹ For I have heard a voice like a woman in labor, the anguish as one bearing her first child, the voice of Zion's daughter gasping and spreading her hands, saying, Woe is to me now, for my soul faints because of murderers.

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not loaned, nor have they loaned to me; yet everyone curses me.

³ You said, Woe is me now, for Jehovah has added grief to my pain; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

¹⁰ I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the firstfruit in the fig tree at her first time. They came to Baal-peor and set themselves apart to a shameful thing. And they became hateful like that which they loved.
