¹ Then Jesus spoke to the crowd and to His disciples, ² saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sat down on Moses' seat. ³ Then all things, whatever they tell you to keep, keep and do. But do not do according to their works, for they say, and do not do. ⁴ For they bind heavy and hard to bear burdens, and lay them on the shoulders of men, but they do not desire to move them with their finger. ⁵ And they do all their works to be seen by men. And they make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their robes. ⁶ And they love the first couch in the suppers, and the first seats in the synagogues, ⁷ and the greetings in the markets, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi. ⁸ But do not you be called Rabbi, for One is your Leader, the Christ, and you are all brothers. ⁹ And call no one your father on earth, for One is your Father, the One in Heaven. ¹⁰ Nor be called leaders, for One is your Leader, the Christ. ¹¹ But the greater of you shall be your servant. ¹² And whoever will exalt himself shall be humbled, and whoever will humble himself shall be exalted. ¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in. ¹⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour the houses of widows, and pray at length as a pretext. Because of this you will receive more abundant judgment. ¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you go about the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte; and when he has become so, you make him twofold more a son of Hell than yourselves. ¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, who say, Whoever swears by the Holy Place, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the Holy Place is a debtor. ¹⁷ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the Holy Place that sanctifies the gold? ¹⁸ And you say, Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift on it, he is a debtor. ¹⁹ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift? ²⁰ Then the one swearing by the altar swears by it, and by all things on it. ²¹ And the one swearing by the Holy Place swears by it, and by the One dwelling in it. ²² And the one swearing by Heaven swears by the throne of God, and by the One sitting on it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside. ²⁴ Blind guides, straining out the gnat, but swallowing the camel! ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within they are full of robbery and excess. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside of them may become clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened graves which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead, and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ So you also indeed outwardly appear righteous to men, but within are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. ²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous. ³⁰ And you say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ So you witness to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² And you fill up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell? ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise ones and scribes. And some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and will persecute from city to city; ³⁵ so that should come on you all the righteous blood poured out on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah whom you murdered between the Holy Place and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things will come on this generation. ³⁷ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those sent to her. How often I desired to gather your children in the way a bird gathers her chicks under her wings! And you did not desire it. ³⁸ Behold, "your house is left to you desolate." Jer. 22:5 ³⁹ For I say to you, In no way shall you see Me from now on, until you say, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." Psa. 118:26

¹⁰ And calling near the crowd, He said to them, Hear and understand: ¹¹ It is not that which has entered into the mouth that defiles the man, but that which has come out of the mouth, this defiles the man. ¹² Then coming, the disciples said to Him, You know that hearing the saying, the Pharisees were offended? ¹³ But answering, He said, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up. ¹⁴ Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit. ¹⁵ And answering, Peter said to Him, Explain this parable to us. ¹⁶ But Jesus said, Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet perceive that everything entering into the mouth goes into the belly, and is thrown out into the waste bowl? ¹⁸ But the things which come out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies. ²⁰ These things are the things defiling the man. But eating with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

¹⁴ And calling all the crowd near, He said to them, All hear Me and understand.

³⁸ And He said to them in His teaching, Be careful of the scribes, those desiring to walk about in robes, and greetings in the markets, ³⁹ and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief couches in the dinners,

¹ At which time the myriads of the crowd being gathered together, so as to trample on one another, He began to say to His disciples first, Take heed to yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

⁵⁷ And why do you not judge what is right even of yourselves?

⁴⁵ And as all the people were listening, He said to His disciples, ⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, those desiring to walk about in long robes, and liking greetings in the markets, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief couches in the suppers,

⁶ this Ezra went up from Babylon. And he was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses, which Jehovah the God of Israel had given. And the king granted him all he asked, according to the hand of Jehovah his God on him.

²⁵ And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God in your hand, you appoint judges and magistrates who may judge all the people who are Beyond the River; all who know the laws of your God; and those who do not know, you cause to know.

⁴ And Ezra the scribe stood on a pulpit of wood which they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand were Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam. ⁵ And Ezra opened the book to the eyes of all the people, for he was above all the people. And when he opened it, all the people stood up. ⁶ And Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, lifting up their hands. And they bowed and worshiped to Jehovah with their noses to the ground. ⁷ And Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the Law. And the people were in their place. ⁸ And they read aloud clearly in the Book of the Law of God, and they gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

⁷ For the lips of the priest should guard knowledge, and they should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of Jehovah of hosts.

³⁸ And He said to them in His teaching, Be careful of the scribes, those desiring to walk about in robes, and greetings in the markets,

⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, those desiring to walk about in long robes, and liking greetings in the markets, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief couches in the suppers,

¹⁹ Now listen to my voice. I will counsel you, and may God be with you. You be for this people before God, and you bring the matters to God. ²⁰ And you warn them as to the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they should walk, and the work which they should do.

²³ If you do this thing, and God command you, you will be able to stand; and also this people will go in peace to their place.

⁵ Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, as Jehovah my God has commanded me, to do them, in the midst of the land where you are going in, to possess it,

²⁷ You go near and hear all that Jehovah our God may say, and you shall speak to us all that Jehovah our God may speak to you. And we will hear it and do it .

⁹ And you shall come in to the priest, of the Levites, and to the judge who is in those days, and shall inquire. And they shall declare the sentence of judgment to you. ¹⁰ And you shall do according to the word which they declare to you from that place which Jehovah shall choose. And you shall be careful to do according to all that they direct you. ¹¹ You shall do according to the mouth of the law which they direct you, and according to the judgment which they deliver to you. You shall not turn aside from the word which they declare to you, right or left. ¹² And the man who acts with pride so as not to listen to the priest who is standing to serve Jehovah your God there, or to the judge, even that man shall die; and you shall put away evil from Israel.

¹² Also, in Judah the hand of God was to give to them one heart to do the king's command, and of the leaders, by the word of Jehovah.

¹⁶ But to the wicked, God says, What is it to you to proclaim My statutes, and to take up My covenant on your mouth? ¹⁷ Yea, you hate instruction, and toss My words behind you? ¹⁸ When you saw a thief, you were pleased with him; and you have taken part with adulterers. ¹⁹ You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. ²⁰ You sit; you speak against your brother; the son of your mother; you give slander.

² Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread. ³ But answering He said to them, Why do you also transgress the command of God on account of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, "Honor your father and mother," Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, by death let him die." Ex. 21:17 ⁵ But you say, Whoever says to the father or the mother, A gift, whatever you would gain from me; ⁶ and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you annulled the command of God on account of your tradition. ⁷ Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying: ⁸ "This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with their lips honor Me; but their heart is far from Me. ⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the ordinances of men." Isa. 29:13

³⁰ And coming to the second, he said the same. And answering, he said, I go, sir; but he did not leave.

²⁹ But answering Peter and the apostles said, It is right to obey God rather than man.

¹⁹ and persuading yourself to be a guide of blind ones, a light to those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of foolish ones, a teacher of infants, having the form of knowledge and of the truth in the Law. ²¹ Then the one teaching another, do you not teach yourself? The one preaching not to steal, do you steal? ²² The one saying not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? The one detesting the idols, do you rob temples? ²³ You who boast in Law, do you dishonor God through transgression of the Law? ²⁴ For the name of God is blasphemed among the nations through you, even as it has been written: Isa. 52:5

¹ Let every soul be subject to higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, but the existing authorities have been ordained by God.

⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but by their works they deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and worthless to every good work.

²⁸ Come to Me, all those laboring and being burdened, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, "and you will find rest to your souls." Jer. 6:16 ³⁰ For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside.

⁴⁶ And He said, Woe to you also, lawyers! Because you burden men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

¹⁰ Now, then, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we had strength to bear?

²⁸ For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to put not one greater burden on you than these necessary things:

¹³ For they themselves having been circumcised do not even keep the Law, but they desire you to be circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.

²⁴ But I say to you and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this teaching, and who did not know the deep things of Satan, as they say: I am not casting another burden on you;

⁹ And it shall be for a sign to you on your hand, and a memorial between your eyes, so that a law of Jehovah may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand Jehovah brought you out from Egypt.

³⁸ Speak to the sons of Israel and you shall say to them that they shall make themselves fringes on the corners of their garments, for their generations. And they shall put with the fringe of each corner thread of blue. ³⁹ And It shall be to you for a fringe, that you may look on it and remember all the commandments of Jehovah, and do them; and that you do not go about after your own heart and your own eyes after which you go astray;

⁸ And you shall bind them for a sign on your hand; and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

¹⁸ And you shall lay these words up in your hearts, and in your souls, and shall bind them for a sign on your hand. And they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

¹² You shall make for yourself tassels on the four corners of your cloak with which you cover.

¹⁶ And he said, Come with me and see my zeal for Jehovah. And they made him ride in the chariot.

³ Mercy and truth will not forsake you; tie them on your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart;

²¹ Tie them to your heart forever; tie them around your neck. ²² When you go, it shall lead you; when you sleep, it shall watch over you; and when you awaken, it will meditate with you. ²³ For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; and reproofs of instruction are a way of life,

¹ Be careful not to do your merciful deeds before men in order to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in Heaven. ² Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, do not trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. ³ But you doing merciful deeds, do not let your left know what your right hand does, ⁴ so that your merciful deeds may be in secret. And your Father seeing in secret Himself will repay you in the open. ⁵ And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. ⁶ But you, when you pray, enter into your room and shutting your door, pray to your Father in secret. And your Father seeing in secret will repay you in the open. ⁷ But when you pray, do not babble vain words, as the nations; for they think that they shall be heard in their much speaking. ⁸ Then do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him. ⁹ So, then, you should pray this way: Our Father who is in Heaven, let be sanctified Your name. ¹⁰ Let Your kingdom come; let Your will be done, as it is in Heaven, also on the earth. ¹¹ Give us today our daily bread, ¹² and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors. ¹³ And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory to the ages. Amen. ¹⁴ For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you will not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses. ¹⁶ And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, darkening the face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward.

²⁰ And behold, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came near behind Him, and touched the fringe of His robe.

¹⁵ And He said to them, You are those justifying yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for the thing highly prized among men is a hateful thing before God.

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more severe judgment.

⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, you who receive glory from one another, and the glory which is from the only God you do not seek?

¹⁸ The one speaking from himself seeks his own glory. But the one seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, this One is true, and unrighteousness is not in Him.

⁴³ For they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

¹⁵ Some, indeed, even proclaim Christ because of envy and strife, but some also because of good will.

³ doing nothing according to party spirit or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another to surpass themselves; ⁴ the one opposing and exalting himself over everything being called God, or object of worship, so as for him "to sit in the temple of God" as God, proclaiming that he himself is God. Dan. 11:36; Eze. 28:2

⁶ Do not honor yourself before a king, and do not stand in the place of the great. ⁷ For it is better he shall say to you, Come up here! than that you should be put lower before a noble whom your eyes have seen.

²¹ And He said to her, What do you desire? She said to Him, Say that these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right, and one on Your left in Your Kingdom.

⁴³ Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the chief seat in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces. ⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Hypocrites! For you are as the unseen tombs, and the men walking above do not know. ⁴⁵ And answering, one of the lawyers said to Him, Teacher, saying these things you also insult us. ⁴⁶ And He said, Woe to you also, lawyers! Because you burden men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers. ⁴⁷ Woe to you! Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ So you bear witness and consent to the works of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs. ⁴⁹ And because of this, the wisdom of God said, I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill and drive out some of them, ⁵⁰ that the blood of all the prophets which has been shed from the foundation of the world may be required from this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel until the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the House. Yea, I say to you, it will be required from this generation. ⁵² Woe to you, lawyers! Because you took the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you kept out the ones entering. ⁵³ And as He was saying these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw Him out concerning many things, ⁵⁴ lying in ambush for Him, and seeking to catch something out of His mouth that they might accuse Him.

⁷ And He spoke a parable to those who had been invited, noting how they were choosing out the chief seats, saying to them, ⁸ When you are invited by anyone to wedding feasts, do not recline at the chief seat lest one more honorable than you be invited by him, ⁹ and coming, he who invited you will say to you, Give this one place. And then you begin with shame to take the last place. ¹⁰ But when you are invited, going in, recline at the last place, so that when he who has invited you may come, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher. Then glory will be to you before those reclining with you. ¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.

⁴⁶ Beware of the scribes, those desiring to walk about in long robes, and liking greetings in the markets, and chief seats in the synagogues, and chief couches in the suppers, ⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more severe judgment.

¹⁰ in brotherly love to one another, loving fervently, having gone before one another in honor;

¹ My brothers, do not with respect of persons have the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. ² For if a gold-fingered man in splendid clothing comes into your synagogue, and a poor one in shabby clothing also comes in; ³ and you look on the one wearing the splendid clothing, and say to him, You sit here comfortably; and to the poor one you say, You stand there, or, Sit here under my footstool; ⁴ did you not also make a difference among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

⁹ I wrote to the church, but he loving to be first of them, Diotrephes, does not receive us.

⁸ But do not you be called Rabbi, for One is your Leader, the Christ, and you are all brothers.

⁵ And answering, Peter said to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and, Let us make three tents, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.

⁵¹ And answering, Jesus said to him, What do you desire I should do to you? And the blind one said to Him, My Lord, that I may see again.

³⁸ But having seen them following, Jesus said to them, What do you seek? And they said to Him, Rabbi (which being translated is called Teacher), where do You stay?

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to Him, Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are the King of Israel.

² This one came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come as a teacher from God. For no one is able to do these miracles which You do, except God be with Him.

²⁶ And they came to John and said to him, Teacher, the one who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, behold, this one baptizes, and all are coming to Him.

²⁵ And finding Him across the sea, they said to Him, Rabbi, when did you come here?

¹⁶ Jesus said to her, Mary! Turning around, she said to Him, Rabboni! (that is to say, Teacher).

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple to become as his teacher, and the slave as his lord. If they called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household?

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a radiant cloud overshadowed them. And, behold, a voice out of the cloud saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I delight; hear Him. Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1; Deut. 18:15

¹⁰ Nor be called leaders, for One is your Leader, the Christ.

⁴⁹ And coming up at once to Jesus, he said, Hail, Rabbi. And he ardently kissed Him.

³² but I entreated concerning you, that your faith might not fail. And when you have turned back, confirm your brothers.

¹³ You call Me the Teacher, and, the Lord. And you say well, for I AM. ¹⁴ If then I washed your feet, the Lord and the Teacher, you also ought to wash the feet of one another.

⁹ For this Christ both died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord over both the dead and the living. ¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or why also do you despise your brother? For all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

¹² But I say this, that each of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ. ¹³ Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

³ For you are yet fleshly. For where among you is jealousy, and strife, and divisions, are you not fleshly and walk according to man? ⁴ For when one may say, Truly I am of Paul, and another, I of Apollos; are you not fleshly? ⁵ What then is Paul? And what Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, and to each as the Lord gave?

²⁴ Not that we rule over your faith, but we are fellow-workers of your joy. For by faith you stand.

⁵ For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves your slaves for the sake of Jesus.

¹⁵ of whom every family in Heaven and on earth is named,

¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timothy the brother, ² to the saints and faithful brothers in Christ in Colosse: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ My brothers do not be many teachers, knowing that we will receive greater judgment.

³ nor as exercising lordship over the ones allotted to you, but becoming examples of the flock.

⁹ I, even your brother John, and co-sharer in the affliction, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, came to be in the island being called Patmos because of the Word of God, and because of the witness of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ And I fell before his feet to worship him, but he said to me, Behold! Stop! I am a fellow-slave of yours, and of your brothers, having the testimony of Jesus. Worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁹ And he said to me, Behold! Stop! For I am your fellow-slave, and of your brothers the prophets, and of the ones keeping the words of this Book. Do worship to God.

¹² And Elisha was watching, and he was crying, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen! And he did not see him again. And he took hold on his garments and tore them into two pieces.

²¹ And when he saw them, the king of Israel said to Elisha, Shall I strike? Shall I strike, my father?

¹⁴ And Elisha had become sick with his illness in which he died; and Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept on his face, and said, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and its horsemen!

²¹ I will not now lift up the face of a man, nor eulogize any man. ²² for I do not know how to eulogize; else after a little my Maker will take me away.

⁶ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?

⁸ Then do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him. ⁹ So, then, you should pray this way: Our Father who is in Heaven, let be sanctified Your name.

³² For after all these things the nations seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.

¹¹ Therefore, if you, being evil. know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him?

¹ Men, brothers, and fathers, hear my defense now to you.

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ¹⁵ For you did not receive a spirit of slavery again to fear, but you received a Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba! Father! ¹⁶ The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. ¹⁷ And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

¹⁵ For if you should have myriads of teachers in Christ, yet not many fathers; for I fathered you in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

¹⁸ "And I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons" and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Sam. 7:8, 14; Isa. 43:6

¹ Do not sharply rebuke an elder, but exhort as a father; and younger ones as brothers, ² older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.

⁹ Furthermore, indeed we have had fathers of our flesh as correctors, and we respected them . Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and we shall live?

¹ See what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

²⁶ But it will not be so among you. But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your servant;

⁴³ But it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. ⁴⁴ And whoever of you desires to become first, he shall be slave of all.

²⁶ But you be not so, but the greater among you, let him be as the lesser; and the one governing as the one serving. ²⁷ For who is greater, the one serving, or the one reclining? Is it not the one reclining? But I am in your midst as One serving.

¹⁴ If then I washed your feet, the Lord and the Teacher, you also ought to wash the feet of one another. ¹⁵ For I gave you an example, that as I did to you, you also should do.

¹⁹ For being free of all, I enslaved myself to all, that I might gain the more.

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself.) I being beyond them : in labors, more abundantly; in stripes, beyond measure; in prisons, much more; in deaths, many times.

¹³ For, brothers, you were called to freedom. Only do not use the freedom for an opening to the flesh. But through love serve one another.

⁵ For let this mind be in you which also was in Christ Jesus, ⁶ who subsisting in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God, ⁷ but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, having become in the likeness of men ⁸ and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, having become obedient until death, even the death of a cross.

²⁹ For they have humiliated you; and you shall say, Pride! And He shall save the lowly of eyes.

⁶ Though Jehovah is high, yet He looks upon the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

³³ The fear of Jehovah is instruction in wisdom, and before honor is humility.

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. ¹⁹ It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

²³ The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor.

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens.

⁴ Then whoever will humble himself as this little child, this one is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.

⁵¹ He performed mightily with His arm; He scattered proud ones in the thought of their heart. ⁵² He put down powerful ones from thrones, and exalted lowly ones.

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.

¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.

⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

⁵ Likewise, younger ones be subject to older ones; and all being subject to one another. Put on humility, because God sets Himself "against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

¹⁴ And Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. ¹⁵ The elder and the exalted of face; he is the head. And the prophet who teaches lies; he is the tail.

¹⁴ The sinners of Zion are afraid; terror has seized profane ones; who of us shall tarry with consuming fire? Who of us shall tarry with everlasting burnings?

¹⁷ Woe to the worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword shall be against his arm and against his right eye. His arm shall be completely withered, and his right eye shall be totally darkened.

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in. ¹⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour the houses of widows, and pray at length as a pretext. Because of this you will receive more abundant judgment. ¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you go about the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte; and when he has become so, you make him twofold more a son of Hell than yourselves.

²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within they are full of robbery and excess.

²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened graves which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead, and of all uncleanness.

²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous.

⁴³ Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the chief seat in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces. ⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Hypocrites! For you are as the unseen tombs, and the men walking above do not know.

⁵² Woe to you, lawyers! Because you took the key of knowledge; you yourselves did not enter, and you kept out the ones entering.

⁴⁶ The officers answered, Never did a man so speak as does this man. ⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, Have you not also been deceived? ⁴⁸ Not any from the rulers or from the Pharisees believed into him? ⁴⁹ But not knowing the Law, this crowd is cursed. ⁵⁰ Nicodemus said to them, the one coming by night to Him, being one of themselves, ⁵¹ Does our Law judge the Man unless it hear from him first, and know what he does? ⁵² They answered and said to him, Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that a prophet has not been raised out of Galilee.

²² His parents said these things because they feared the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him as Christ, he would be expelled from the synagogue.

²⁴ Then a second time they called the man who was blind, and they said to him, Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, You were born wholly in sins, and do you teach us? And they threw him outside.

¹⁷ But that it may not be spread abroad further to the people, let us threaten them with a threat that they no longer speak on this name to any one of men. ¹⁸ And calling them, they ordered them not to speak at all, nor to teach on the name of Jesus.

²⁸ saying, Did we not command you by a command that you not teach in this name? And, behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring on us the blood of this man.

⁴⁰ And they obeyed him. And having called the apostles, beating them, they commanded not to speak on the name of Jesus, and let them go.

¹ And Saul was consenting to the doing away of him. And in that day a great persecution took place on the church which was in Jerusalem; and all were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

⁸ But Elymas, the conjurer (for so his name is translated) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out, and not pleasing God, and being contrary to all men, ¹⁶ hindering us from speaking to the nations in order that they be saved, to fill up their sins always. But the wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

⁸ But in the way Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also these withstand the truth, men having been corrupted in mind, found worthless as to the faith.

¹⁵ You also guard against him, for he greatly withstood our words.

²² You shall not afflict an orphan or a widow. ²³ If you afflict him, if he at all cries to Me, I will surely hear his cry, ²⁴ and My anger shall glow, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall become widows, and your sons orphans.

⁹ You have sent widows away empty, and have crushed the arms of orphans.

¹⁶ If I have withheld from the desire of the poor, or I have caused the widow's eyes to fail, ¹⁷ or have eaten my bit alone, and the orphan has not eaten it, ¹⁸ for from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and from my mother's womb I guided her. ¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me, and he warmed himself with the fleece of my flock;

²⁴ But I say to you, It will be more bearable for the land of Sodom in Judgment day than for you.

³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell? ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise ones and scribes. And some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and will persecute from city to city; ³⁵ so that should come on you all the righteous blood poured out on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah whom you murdered between the Holy Place and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things will come on this generation.

⁴⁰ those devouring the houses of widows, and for a pretense praying at length. These will receive more abundant judgment.

⁴⁸ But he not knowing, and doing things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few. And everyone given much, much will be demanded from him. And to whom much was deposited, more exceedingly they will ask of him.

⁴⁷ who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more severe judgment.

⁶ For of these are those creeping into houses and leading silly women captive, the ones having been heaped with sins, being led away by various lusts,

¹⁰ For there are indeed many disobedient men, empty talkers and mind-deluders, especially those of the circumcision, ¹¹ whose mouth you must stop, who overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for the sake of ill gain.

³ And by covetousness, with well-turned words, they will use you for gain, for whom judgment of old does not linger, and their destruction does not slumber.

¹⁴ having eyes full of an adulteress, and never ceasing from sin; alluring unsettled souls; having a heart busied with covetousness; cursed children; ¹⁵ forsaking a straight path, they went astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,

¹⁷ And in every province, and in every single city, the place wherever the word of the king and his law touched, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell on them.

²² But I say to you, Everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be liable to the Judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the sanhedrin; but whoever says, Fool! shall be liable to be thrown into the fire of Hell.

²⁹ But if your right eye offends you, take it out and throw it from you, for it is profitable to you that one of your members should perish and all your body not be thrown into Hell.

⁴⁴ You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

¹⁰ both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the regions of Libya over against Cyrene, and the temporarily residing Romans, both Jews and proselytes,

⁵ And the saying was pleasing before all the multitude. And they chose out Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,

¹⁰ he said, O son of the Devil, full of all guile and of all cunning, enemy of all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

⁴³ And the synagogue being broken up, many of the Jews and of the devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who speaking to them persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

² But the unbelieving Jews raised up and made malignant the souls of the nations against the brothers.

¹⁹ But Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium, and persuading the crowds, and stoning Paul, they dragged him outside the city, supposing him to have died.

⁵ But becoming jealous, and having taken aside some wicked men of the market loafers, and gathering a crowd, the disobeying Jews set the city into turmoil. And coming on the house of Jason, they sought to bring them on to the mob. ⁶ But not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brothers before the city judges, crying, Those turning the habitable world upside down have come here, too;

¹³ But when the Jews from Thessalonica knew that the Word of God was also announced in Berea by Paul, they came there also, shaking up the crowd.

¹⁷ They are zealous for you, but not well; but they only desire to shut you out, that you be zealous to them.

¹² As many as desire to look well in the flesh, these compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

³ among whom we also all conducted ourselves in times past in the lusts of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of the understandings, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest.

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind; they all do not know; they are all dumb dogs; they cannot bark, dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber; ¹¹ yea, dogs greedy of soul; they do not know satisfaction. And they are shepherds; they know not discernment; they all look to their own way, each one for his own gain, from his own end, saying:

³³ Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients: "You shall not swear falsely, but shall give your oaths to the Lord." Lev. 19:12; Num. 30:2 ³⁴ But I say to you, Do not swear at all, neither by Heaven, because it is God's throne; Isa. 66:1 ³⁵ nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of His feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King. Isa. 66:1; Psa. 48:2

⁵ But you say, Whoever says to the father or the mother, A gift, whatever you would gain from me; ⁶ and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you annulled the command of God on account of your tradition.

¹⁴ Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

¹⁷ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the Holy Place that sanctifies the gold?

¹⁹ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?

²⁴ Blind guides, straining out the gnat, but swallowing the camel!

²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside of them may become clean also.

¹⁰ For Moses said, "Honor your father and your mother;" Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, let him expire by death." Ex. 21:17 ¹¹ But you say, If a man says to his father or mother, Corban, (which is, A gift!) whatever you may profit by me. ¹² And you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or mother, ¹³ making the Word of God of no effect by your tradition which you delivered. And many such like things you do.

³⁹ And Jesus said, I came into this world for judgment, that the ones who do not see may see, and they who see may become blind. ⁴⁰ And those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, Are we also blind? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin. But now you say, We see; therefore, your sin remains.

³ And I testify again to every man being circumcised, that he is a debtor to do all the Law,

¹² But before all things, my brothers, do not swear, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor any other oath. But let your yes be yes, and the no, no, that you may not fall under judgment.

²⁶ And you shall anoint with it the tabernacle of the congregation and the ark of the testimony, ²⁷ and the table and all its vessels and the altar of incense, ²⁸ and the altar of burnt offering, and all its vessels, and the laver and its base. ²⁹ And you shall sanctify them, and they shall become most holy; everything touching them shall become holy.

³⁸ the fire-pans of these sinners against their own souls. And they shall make of them spreadout plates, a covering for the altar, for they have brought them near before Jehovah, and they are holy. And they shall become a sign to the sons of Israel. ³⁹ And Eleazar the priest took the bronze fire-pans, which they who were burned had brought near, and they spread them out, a covering for the altar,

⁸ Understand you beastly ones among the people; yea, you fools, when will you be wise?

³⁷ You shall make atonement seven days for the altar, and shall sanctity it; and the altar shall become most holy, all touching the altar becomes holy.

²⁹ And you shall sanctify them, and they shall become most holy; everything touching them shall become holy.

¹³ I have surely built a house of loftiness for You, a settled place for You to abide in forever.

²⁷ But will God in truth dwell on the earth? Behold, the heavens and the heavens of the heavens cannot contain You; how much less this house which I have built!

² And I have surely built an exalted house for You, and a place for You to dwell forever.

² and the priests were not able to go into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah had filled the house of Jehovah.

⁸ O Jehovah, I have loved the place of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells.

¹³ Jehovah has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling-place. ¹⁴ This is My rest till forever; I will dwell here; I have desired it.

²² in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

⁹ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

⁴ Jehovah is in His holy temple Jehovah, His throne is in the heavens; His eyes see; His eyelids will examine the sons of man.

¹ So says Jehovah: Heaven is My throne, and earth the footstool of My feet. Where then is the house that you build for Me? And where then is the place of My rest?

³⁴ But I say to you, Do not swear at all, neither by Heaven, because it is God's throne; Isa. 66:1

⁴⁹ "Heaven is My throne, and the earth a footstool of My feet; what house will you build Me," "says the Lord," "or what the place of My rest?"

² And at once I became in spirit. And, behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and One sitting on the throne. ³ And the One sitting was in appearance like a jasper stone, and a sardius; and a rainbow was around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

³⁰ And all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land, of the fruit of the tree, shall be Jehovah's; it is holy to Jehovah.

²² And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice! To give attention is better than the fat of rams.

³ For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.

¹⁵ Do you reign because you lust to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah?

⁶ For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

⁸ O man, He has declared to you what is good. And what does Jehovah require of you, but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

¹⁹ Therefore, whoever relaxes one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. ²⁰ For I say to you, If your righteousness shall not exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, in no way shall you go into the kingdom of Heaven.

¹³ But going, learn what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

⁷ But if you had known what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice," you would not have condemned the guiltless. Hos. 6:6

³⁷ And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." Deut. 6:5 ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18 ⁴⁰ On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.

⁴² But woe to you, Pharisees, for you pay tithes of the mint, and the rue, and every plant, and pass by the judgment and the love of God. It was right to do these things, but not to leave aside those.

¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law.

⁴ Or how will you say to your brother, Allow me to cast out the twig from your eye; and behold, the log is in your eye!

² Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread. ³ But answering He said to them, Why do you also transgress the command of God on account of your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, "Honor your father and mother," Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, by death let him die." Ex. 21:17

²⁴ And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, who say, Whoever swears by the Holy Place, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the Holy Place is a debtor.

⁶ And taking the pieces of silver, the chief priests said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood. ⁷ And taking counsel, they bought of them the potter's field, for burial for the strangers. ⁸ So that field was called Field of Blood until today.

⁷ And the scribes and the Pharisees kept close by Him, to see if He would heal on the sabbath, so that they might find a charge against Him. ⁸ But He knew their reasonings. And He said to the man having the withered hand, Rise up and stand in the middle! And rising up, he stood. ⁹ Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you one thing, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbaths, or to do ill, to save a life, or to destroy it ? ¹⁰ And having looked around at them all, He said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he did so. And his hand was restored sound as the other.

²⁸ Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas into the praetorium, and it was early. And they did not enter into the praetorium that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.

⁴⁰ Then all cried out again, saying, Not this one, but Barabbas! But Barabbas was a robber.

⁷ But they also have gone astray by wine, and have erred through fermented drink; priest and prophet have erred through fermented drink; they have been swallowed by wine; they strayed from fermented drink; they err in seeing; they stumble in judgment; ⁸ for all tables are full of vomit and filth, without a clean place.

⁴ And coming from the market, they do not eat without immersing. And there are many other things which they received to hold: dippings of cups, and of utensils, and of copper vessels, and couches. ⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes questioned Him, Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands? ⁶ And answering, He said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, hypocrites; as it has been written: "This people honors Me with the lips, but their heart is far away from Me; ⁷ and in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." Isa. 29:13 ⁸ For forsaking the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men: dippings of utensils and cups, and many other such like things you do. ⁹ And He said to them, Do you do well to set aside the commandment of God so that you may keep your tradition?

³⁹ But the Lord said to him, Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but your inside is full of robbery and evil. ⁴⁰ Fools! Did not He who made the outside also make the inside?

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, cleanse your heart from evil so that you may be saved. Until when will your vain thoughts lodge within you?

²⁷ I have seen your adulteries and your neighings, the plot of your infidelity, your abominations on the hills, in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you not be made clean? Now long will it still be ?

³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you by which you have transgressed in them, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

³³ Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by the fruit.

⁴⁵ The good man brings forth good out of the good treasure of his heart. And the evil man brings forth evil out of the evil treasure of his heart, for his mouth speaks out of the abundance of his heart.

¹ Then having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of flesh and of spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts having been sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our body having been washed in pure water;

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones!

¹⁶ And whoever in the open field touches one that has been pierced with a sword, or one that has died of himself, or the bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

¹ Call out with the throat! Do not spare. Lift up your voice like the ram's horn! And show My people their rebellion, and their sins to the house of Jacob. ² Yet they seek Me day by day, and desire knowledge of My ways. As a nation that has done right, and not forsaking the judgment of their God, they ask Me about judgments of righteousness; they desire to draw near to God.

⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! Hypocrites! For you are as the unseen tombs, and the men walking above do not know.

³ Then Paul said to him, God is going to strike you, whitened wall! And do you sit judging me according to the Law, and contrary to the Law command me to be stricken?

⁷ And Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his appearance, nor to the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For man does not see what He sees. For man looks for the eyes, but Jehovah looks for the heart.

⁶ Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden parts You teach me wisdom.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is incurable; who can know it? ¹⁰ I, Jehovah, search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ³⁵ The good man out of the good treasure of the heart puts forth good things. And the evil man out of the evil treasure puts forth evil things.

⁵ And they do all their works to be seen by men. And they make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their robes.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, pass out the evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, greedy desires, iniquities, deceit, lustful desires, a wicked eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things pass out from within and defile the man.

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and intentions of the heart; ¹³ and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.

⁴⁷ Woe to you! Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ So you bear witness and consent to the works of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.

²⁹ Men, brothers, it is permitted to say to you with plainness as to the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us until this day.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by the hand of His messengers, rising early and sending, for He had pity on his people and on His dwelling place.

³⁰ In vain I have stricken your sons; they received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

³⁵ And the vinedressers, taking his slaves, they beat this one, and they killed one, and they stoned another. ³⁶ Again he sent other slaves, more than the first. And they did the same to them.

³⁴ Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise ones and scribes. And some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and will persecute from city to city; ³⁵ so that should come on you all the righteous blood poured out on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah whom you murdered between the Holy Place and the altar.

²² And Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves, that you have chosen Jehovah for yourselves, to serve Him (for they said, We are witnesses)

⁵ For your iniquity teaches your mouth; and you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your mouth condemns you, and not I; yea, your own lips testify against you.

⁸ So they shall be confounded; their tongue falls upon themselves; everyone seeing them shall flee.

²² But he said to him, I will judge you out of your own mouth, wicked slave. You knew that I am an exacting man, taking what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow.

⁵¹ Oh stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and in the ears! You always fell against the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, you also did . ⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who before announced the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become betrayers and murderers,

¹⁶ And in the fourth generation they shall come here again; for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full

¹⁴ And, behold, you have risen up in your fathers' stead. an increase of sinful men, to add still more to the heat of Jehovah toward Israel!

⁶ And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goes forth. And he said, This is their form in all the earth. ⁷ And, behold, a lead cover was lifted up, and a woman was sitting in the middle of the ephah. ⁸ And he said, This is wickedness. And he threw her into the midst of the ephah; and he threw the lead stone over its opening. ⁹ And I lifted up my eyes and looked. And, behold, two women came out. And the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of the stork. And they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens. ¹⁰ And I said to the angel who was speaking with me, Where are they going with the ephah? ¹¹ And he said to me, To build a house for it in the land of Shinar; and it shall be fixed and established there on its own place.

¹⁶ hindering us from speaking to the nations in order that they be saved, to fill up their sins always. But the wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

³ The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from the belly, speaking lies. ⁴ Their poison is like the poison of a snake; like the deaf adder, he stops his ear, ⁵ which will not hear the charmer's voice, skillful caster of spells.

³ But you, draw near here, sons of the sorceress, seed of the adulterer and playing the harlot. ⁴ On whom are you making sport? On whom do you make a wide mouth and draw out the tongue? Are you not children of transgression, a lying seed,

⁷ But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

³⁴ And when the season of the fruits came, he sent his slaves to the vinedressers to receive his fruits. ³⁵ And the vinedressers, taking his slaves, they beat this one, and they killed one, and they stoned another.

⁷ Then he said to the crowds going out to be baptized by him, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

³ But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your thoughts should be corrupted from the purity which is due to Christ.

³ how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? Which having received a beginning to be spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by the ones hearing,

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think will be thought worthy to receive, the one trampling the Son of God, and having counted common the blood of the covenant in which he was sanctified, and having insulted the Spirit of grace?

²⁵ Watch that you do not refuse the One speaking; for if these did not escape who refused Him who divinely warned them on earth, much rather we, those turning away from Heaven;

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the old serpent being called Devil, and, Satan; he deceiving the whole habitable world was cast out onto the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by the hand of His messengers, rising early and sending, for He had pity on his people and on His dwelling place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets until the wrath of Jehovah went up against His people, until there was no healing.

³⁰ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he who takes souls is wise.

¹⁶ Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. ¹⁷ But beware of men. For they will betray you to sanhedrins, and they will flog you in their synagogues.

²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For truly I say to you, In no way will you have finished the cities of Israel until the Son of man comes.

⁵² And He said to them, Because of this, every scribe schooled to the kingdom of Heaven is like a man, a master of a house, who puts forth out of his treasure new and old.

¹⁹ Going, then, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

⁴⁹ And because of this, the wisdom of God said, I will send prophets and apostles to them, and they will kill and drive out some of them, ⁵⁰ that the blood of all the prophets which has been shed from the foundation of the world may be required from this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel until the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the House. Yea, I say to you, it will be required from this generation.

⁴⁷ And repentance and remission of sins must be preached on His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

² They will put you out of the synagogue, but an hour is coming that everyone killing you will think to bear a service before God.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.

⁸ but you will receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you, and you will be witnesses of Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

⁵⁸ And throwing him outside the city, they stoned him . And the witnesses put off their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul. ⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen, invoking and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

¹ But still breathing threats and murder toward the disciples of the Lord, coming to the high priest, ² Saul asked from him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any being of the Way, both men and women, having bound them he might bring them to Jerusalem.

²⁷ And in these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.

² And with a sword he did away with James the brother of John.

¹ And in Antioch some among the existing church were prophets and teachers: both Barnabas and Simeon, he being called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

³² And Judas and Silas, themselves also being prophets, exhorted the brothers through much speech, and confirmed them .

¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they understand that I was imprisoning and beating the ones believing on You throughout the synagogues. ²⁰ And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was poured out, I myself also was standing by and consenting to his execution, and holding the garments of those killing him.

⁶ But we speak wisdom among the perfect, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, those being brought to nothing.

¹⁰ According to God's grace given to me, as a wise master builder, I laid a foundation, but another builds on it . But let each one be careful how he builds.

³ Because of this I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus is a curse. And no one is able to say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit. ⁴ And there are differences of gifts, but the same Spirit; ⁵ and there are differences of ministries, yet the same Lord. ⁶ And there are differences of workings, but the same God is working all things in all. ⁷ And to each one is given the showing forth of the Spirit to our profit. ⁸ For through the Spirit is given to one a word of wisdom, and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and to another, faith by the same Spirit, and to another, gifts of healing by the same Spirit, ¹⁰ and to another, workings of powers, and to another, prophecy, and to another, discerning of spirits, and to another, kinds of languages, and to another, interpretation of languages. ¹¹ But the one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing separately to each as He wills.

²⁴ Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews. ²⁵ I was flogged three times; I was stoned once; I was shipwrecked three times; I have spent a night and a day in the deep.

⁸ Because of this, He says, "Having gone up on high, He led captivity captive," and gave "gifts to men." Psa. 68:18 ⁹ But that He went up, what is it except that He also first came down into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that came down is the same who also went up above all the heavens, that He might fill all things. ¹¹ And indeed He gave some to be apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; ¹² with a view to the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ,

²⁸ whom we announce, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man full-grown in Christ Jesus,

³⁷ they were stoned; they were tried; they were sawn in two; they died by murder of sword; they went about in sheepskins and in goatskins, being in need, being afflicted, being ill-treated;

¹⁰ And those living on the earth will rejoice over them, and will make merry. And they will send one another gifts, because these two prophets tormented those living on the earth.

⁸ And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened as they were in the field, Cain rose up against His brother Abel, and killed him.

⁵ And surely the blood of your lives I will demand. At the hand of every animal I will demand it, and at the hand of man. I will demand the life of man at the hand of every man's brother. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood shall be shed by man. For He made man in the image of God.

³³ And you shall not pollute the land in which you are, for blood pollutes the land. And no ransom is to be taken for the land for blood which is shed in it, except for the blood of him who sheds it;

⁷ And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, nor have our eyes seen it. ⁸ O Jehovah, be merciful to Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed, and do not allow innocent blood in the midst of Your people Israel. And the blood shall be forgiven them.

¹⁶ And also Manasseh has shed very much innocent blood, till he has filled Jerusalem from mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he caused Judah to sin, to do evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

⁴ and also the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

²⁰ And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood before the people and said to them, So says God, Why do you transgress the commandments of Jehovah, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken Jehovah, He has forsaken you. ²¹ And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Jehovah. ²² And Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada his father had done to him, and killed his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah shall seek you out .

²¹ For, behold, Jehovah comes out of His place to visit his iniquity on the dweller of the earth. The earth shall also reveal her blood, and shall no more cover over her slain ones.

³⁴ Also on your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents; you did not find them breaking in, but on all these.

¹⁵ But know for certain that if you put me to death, you shall surely bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants. For truly Jehovah has sent me to you, to speak all these words in your ears.

²³ And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who struck him with the sword, and threw his dead body into the graves of the sons of the people.

¹³ Because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, shedding the blood of the righteous in her midst, ¹⁴ they reeled blind in the streets. They are defiled with blood, so that not any are able to touch their garments.

¹ In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Jehovah came to Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

⁵¹ from the blood of Abel until the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the House. Yea, I say to you, it will be required from this generation.

⁴ By faith Abel offered a greater sacrifice to God than Cain, by which he obtained witness to be righteous, God testifying over his gifts; and through it, having died, he yet speaks.

²⁴ and to Jesus the Mediator of a new covenant, and to blood of sprinkling speaking better things than that of Abel.

¹¹ Because this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, ¹² not as Cain was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his works were evil, but the things of his brother were righteous.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all the ones having been slain on the earth.

²¹ And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying, ²² Son of man, what is this proverb to you on the land of Israel, saying, The days are long, and every vision shall perish? ²³ Therefore, tell them, So says the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb cease, and they shall not use it again in Israel. However, say to them, The days draw near, and the matter of every vision. ²⁴ For there shall not again be every vain vision, nor slippery divination, within the house of Israel. ²⁵ For I, Jehovah, will speak. The word which I shall speak shall be done, it shall not be drawn out again. For in your days, O house of rebellion, I will say the word and will do it, declares the Lord Jehovah. ²⁶ And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying, ²⁷ Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, The vision that he is seeing is for many days, and he prophesies for times far off. ²⁸ So say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Not any of My words will be drawn out any longer. What I have spoken, that word shall be done, declares the Lord Jehovah.

³⁴ Truly I say to you, In no way will this generation pass away until all these things have occurred.

³⁰ Truly I say to you, Not at all will this generation pass away until all these things occur. ³¹ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words will not at all pass away.

³² Truly I say to you, In no way will this generation pass away until all these things shall occur. ³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My words in no way will pass away.

¹¹ As the eagle stirs up its nest; it hovers over its young; it spreads out its wings and takes it, and bears it on its wing. ¹² Jehovah alone led him, and there was no strange god with him.

¹² Jehovah shall repay your work, and your reward shall be complete from Jehovah the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.

²⁶ But they were disobedient, and rebelled against You, and cast Your law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them, to turn them to You. And they worked great blasphemies.

⁸ Keep me as the pupil, the daughter of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings,

⁷ How precious is Your mercy, O God! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

¹ To the chief musician. Do not destroy. A secret treasure of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for my soul trusts in You; yea, in the shadow of Your wings I will make my hiding place, until the great destruction passes by.

⁷ For You have been a help to me, and I will rejoice under the shadow of Your wings.

⁸ My people, listen, and I will testify against you, whether you will listen to Me: ⁹ There shall be no strange god among you; nor shall you worship a foreign god. ¹⁰ I am Jehovah your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. ¹¹ But My people would not listen to My voice, and Israel did not consent to Me.

⁴ With His feathers He will cover you, and under His wings you shall seek refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler.

²⁴ Because I called, and you refused; I stretch out a hand, and none inclines, ²⁵ but you have ignored all my counsel, and you did not desire my warning. ²⁶ I also will laugh in your calamity, I will mock when your dread comes; ²⁷ when your dread comes like a storm; and your calamity arrives like a tempest, when distress and constraint come on you. ²⁸ Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. ²⁹ Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of Jehovah. ³⁰ They did not want my counsel; they despised all my reproof, ³¹ and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own lusts.

² Who knows why I have come, and no one is here ? I called, and not one answered. Is My hand truly cut short from ransom? Or is there not power in Me to deliver? Behold, at My rebuke I dry up the sea; I make rivers a wilderness; their fish stink because of no water, and die in thirst.

⁸ O Jerusalem, take advice, that My soul not be alienated from you; that I not make you a ruin, a land not inhabited.

¹⁶ So says Jehovah, Stand by the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it . ¹⁷ Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Listen to the sound of the ram's horn. But they said, We will not listen.

⁷ For I solemnly warned your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, to this day rising early and warning, saying, Obey My voice. ⁸ Yet they did not obey nor bow down their ear, but each one walked in the stubbornness of their evil heart. And I will bring on them all the words of this covenant which I commanded them to do, but they did not do.

³ From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, this twenty three years, the word of Jehovah has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; but you have not listened. ⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending, but you have not listened nor bowed your ear to hear, ⁵ saying, Now turn each one from his evil way and from the evil of your doings, and live on the land which Jehovah has given to you and to your fathers from forever even to forever. ⁶ And do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no harm. ⁷ Yet you have not listened to Me, says Jehovah, so that you might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands, for harm to you.

¹⁵ I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending, saying, Each man now return from his evil way, and amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them, and you shall live in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers. But you have not bowed your ear, nor listened to Me.

⁹ And he said to them, So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your petition before Him: ¹⁰ If you will still remain in this land, then I will build you up, and will not tear you down. And I will plant you, and will not pluck you up. For I repent as to the evil that I have done to you. ¹¹ Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid. Do not be afraid of his face, declares Jehovah, for I am with you to save you and to deliver you from his hand. ¹² And I will show mercies to you, so that he may have pity on you, and cause you to return to your own land. ¹³ But if you say, We will not live in this land or obey the voice of Jehovah your God,

⁴ However, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying, Oh, do not commit this abominable thing which I hate!

² As they called to them, so they went from their face. They sacrifice to the Baals, and burn incense to graven images.

⁷ And My people are bent on backsliding from Me. And they call him to the Most High; no one at all would exalt Him .

⁴ Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have proclaimed to them, saying, So says Jehovah of hosts: Turn now from your evil ways and your evil doings. But they did not hear or give heed to Me, says Jehovah.

¹² Rejoice and leap for joy, for your reward is great in Heaven; for in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

³ And he sent his slaves to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, but they did not desire to come.

⁶ And the rest, seizing his slaves, insulted and killed them .

³⁰ And you say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

³ But taking him, they beat him, and sent him away empty. ⁴ And again he sent to them another slave; stoning that one, they struck him in the head and sent him away, insulting him. ⁵ And again, he sent another, and they killed that one; also many others, indeed beating these, and killing these. ⁶ Yet having one son, his own beloved, then he sent him to them also, last of all, saying, They will have respect for my son.

³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! The one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her, how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it . ³⁵ Behold, "your house is left" to you "desolate". Jer. 22:5 And truly I say to you, You shall not at all see Me until it come when you say, "Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord." Psa. 118:26

¹⁷ And he sent his slave at the supper hour to say to those who had been invited, Come, for now all is ready. ¹⁸ And all with one mind began to beg off. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I have need to go out and see it; I ask you, have me excused. ¹⁹ And another said, I bought five yoke of oxen and I am going to try them out; I ask you, have me excused. ²⁰ And another said, I married a wife, and for this reason I am not able to come.

²⁸ But he was angry and did not desire to go in. Then coming out, his father begged him.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, We do not desire this one to reign over us. ¹⁵ And it happened as he returned, having received the kingdom, he even said for those slaves to be called to him, those to whom he gave the silver, that he might know what each had gained by trading. ¹⁶ And the first came, saying, Lord, your mina has gained ten minas. ¹⁷ And he said to him, Well done, good slave! Because you were faithful in a least thing, have authority over ten cities. ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, Lord, your mina has made five minas. ¹⁹ And he said to this one also, And you be over five cities. ²⁰ And another came, saying, Lord, behold your mina which I had kept in a handkerchief. ²¹ For I feared you, because you are an exacting man, taking what you did not lay down, and reaping what you did not sow. ²² But he said to him, I will judge you out of your own mouth, wicked slave. You knew that I am an exacting man, taking what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow. ²³ And why did you not give my silver on the bank table? And coming, I might have exacted it with interest. ²⁴ And to those standing by, he said, Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas. ²⁵ And they said to him, Lord, he has ten minas. ²⁶ For I say to you, To everyone who has, it will be given. And from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. ²⁷ But these enemies of mine, those not desiring me to reign over them, bring them here and execute them before me. ²⁸ And saying these things, He went in front, going up to Jerusalem. ²⁹ And it happened as He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany toward the Mount called Of Olives, He sent two of the disciples, ³⁰ saying, Go into the village opposite you, in which having entered you will find a colt which has been tied up, on which no one of men ever yet sat. Untying it, bring it . ³¹ And if anyone asks, Why do you untie it ? You shall say to them, The Lord has need of it. ³² And going, those having been sent found as He told them. ³³ And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, Why do you untie the colt? ³⁴ And they said, The Lord has need of it. ³⁵ And they led it to Jesus. And throwing their garments on the colt, they put Jesus on it . ³⁶ And as He went, they were spreading their garments in the highway. ³⁷ And as He was already drawing near to the descent of the Mount of Olives, all the multitude of the disciples began rejoicing, to praise God with a loud voice concerning all the works of power which they saw, ³⁸ saying, "Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord," the King. Peace in Heaven, and glory in the highest! Psa. 118:26 ³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples. ⁴⁰ And answering, He said to them, I say to you, If these should be silent, the stones will cry out. ⁴¹ And as He drew near, seeing the city, He wept over it, ⁴² saying, If you had known, even you, even at least in this day of yours, the things for your peace! But now they were hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days will come on you, and your enemies will raise up a rampart to you and will surround you and will keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ and will tear you down, and your children in you, and will not leave a stone on a stone, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

¹¹ And he again sent another slave. But they also sent that one away empty, beating and insulting him . ¹² And he again sent a third. But they also threw this one out, wounding him . ¹³ And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps seeing this one, they will respect him . ¹⁴ And seeing him, the vinedressers reasoned with themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come let us kill him so that the inheritance may become ours.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out, and not pleasing God, and being contrary to all men,

⁷ And when they complete their witness, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them, and will kill them. ⁸ And their bodies will be on the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom, and Egypt, where our Lord was crucified.

⁶ And I saw the woman being drunk from the blood of the saints, and from the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And I marveled, seeing her with a great marveling.

⁷ then I shall cut off Israel from the face of the land that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I shall send away from My face, and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

²⁰ then I shall pluck them up from off My land that I have given them, and this house that I have sanctified for My name I shall cast away from before My face, and I shall give it for a proverb and a byword among all the nations. ²¹ And this house that was on high shall be a wonder to everyone who passes by it, they shall shudder and say, Why has Jehovah done this to this land and to this house?

²⁴ Pour out Your wrath on them; and let the glow of Your anger overtake them.

¹⁰ Your holy cities are a wilderness; Zion is a wilderness; Jerusalem is a desolation. ¹¹ The house of our holiness and our beauty where our fathers praised You has become a burning of fire, and all our pleasant things have become a ruin. ¹² Will You restrain Yourself over these things, Jehovah? Will you be silent and sorely afflict us?

⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know? ¹⁰ And will you then come and stand before Me in this house on which My name is called, and say, We are delivered in order to do all those detestable things. ¹¹ Has this house on which My name is called become a den of violent ones in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen, declares Jehovah. ¹² But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I made My name dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the evil of My people Israel. ¹³ And now, because you have done all these works, says Jehovah, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear. Yea, I called you, but you did not answer. ¹⁴ And I will do to the house on which My name is called, in which you are trusting, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

⁵ But if you will not hear these words, I swear by Myself, says Jehovah, that this house shall become a ruin.

²⁶ And after sixty two weeks, Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of a coming prince shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end shall be with the flood, and ruins are determined, and war shall be until the end.

¹ Open your doors, O Lebanon, so that the fire may devour your cedars. ² Howl, fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the majestic trees have been destroyed. Howl, O oaks of Bashan, for the inaccessible forest has come down.

⁶ For I will never again pity the inhabitants of the land, says Jehovah. But, lo, I will make the men fall, each one into his neighbor's hand, and into his king's hand. And they shall strike the land, and I will not deliver out of their hand.

¹ Behold, the day of Jehovah comes, and your spoil shall be divided among you. ² For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem. And the city shall be captured, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished. And half the city shall go into exile and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

² But Jesus said to them, Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, There will not at all be left one stone on a stone which in no way will not be thrown down.

¹⁴ But when you see "the abomination of desolation," the one spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (he reading, let him understand), then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. Dan. 11:31; 12:11

³⁵ Behold, "your house is left" to you "desolate". Jer. 22:5 And truly I say to you, You shall not at all see Me until it come when you say, "Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord." Psa. 118:26

⁶ As to these things that you see, days will come in which a stone will not be left on a stone, which will not be thrown down.

²⁰ And when you see Jerusalem being encircled by armies, then recognize that its destruction has come near.

²⁴ And they will fall by the mouth of the sword and will be led captive to all the nations. And Jerusalem will be trodden down by nations, until the times of the nations are fulfilled.

¹³ And they stood up false witnesses, who were saying, This man does not cease speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Law; ¹⁴ for we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and will change the customs which Moses delivered over to us.

²⁶ Blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah; we blessed you from the house of Jehovah.

⁹ You who bring good news to Zion, go up for yourself on the high mountain, bringer of good news to Zion. Lift up your voice with strength, bringer of good news to Jerusalem. Lift up; do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, Behold! Your God! ¹⁰ Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come with strength, and His arm rules for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His wage before Him. ¹¹ He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather lambs with His arm; and carry them in His bosom; those with young He will lead;

⁴ For the sons of Israel shall stay many days with no king and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod or teraphim.

¹⁰ And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him, like the bitterness over the first-born.

⁹ And the crowd, the ones going before and the ones following, were crying out, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David! "Blessed is He coming in the name of the Lord"! Hosanna in the highest! Psa. 118:25, 26

²⁶ And it happened to him, having been divinely instructed by the Holy Spirit, he was not to see death before he would see the Christ of the Lord. ²⁷ And by the Spirit he came into the temple. And as the parents were bringing in the child Jesus for them to do according to the custom of the Law concerning Him, ²⁸ even Simeon received Him into his arms. And he blessed God and said, ²⁹ Now, Master, You will let Your slave go in peace according to Your word; ³⁰ because my eyes saw Your Salvation,

²² All things were delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father; and who is the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son may desire to reveal Him . ²³ And having turned to the disciples alone, He said, Blessed are the eyes seeing what you see.

²² And He said to the disciples, Days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of man, and will not see.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, I go, and you will seek Me. And you will die in your sin. Where I go, you are not able to come.

²⁴ Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham leaped for joy that he should see My day, and he saw, and rejoiced.

⁹ Jesus said to him, Am I so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? The one seeing Me has seen the Father! And how do you say, Show us the Father?

¹⁹ Yet a little while and the world no longer sees Me, but you see Me. Because I live, you also shall live.

²⁵ For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be wise within yourselves, that hardness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the nations comes in;

¹⁴ But their thoughts were hardened, for until the present the same veil remains on the reading of the Old Covenant, not being unveiled, that it is being done away in Christ. ¹⁵ But until today, when Moses is being read, a veil lies on their heart. ¹⁶ But whenever it turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Ex. 34:34 ¹⁷ And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. ¹⁸ But we all with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord Spirit.
