³⁵ For whoever desires to save his life, he shall lose it. But whoever shall lose his life for My sake and the gospel, that one shall save it.

¹¹ for all the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that whoever, whether man or woman, shall come to the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his, execution; except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden scepter so that he may live. But I have not been called to come into the king these thirty days. ¹² And they told Mordecai Esther's words. ¹³ And Mordecai said to take back to Esther, Do not imagine within yourself to deliver yourself in the king's house more than all the Jews. ¹⁴ For if you are completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall rise up to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house shall perish. And who knows if you have attained to the kingdom for such time as this? ¹⁵ And Esther said to take back to Mordecai, ¹⁶ Go, gather all the Jews being found in Shushan, and fast for me. And do not eat or drink three days, night or day. My maidens and I will also fast in this way. And so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law. And if I have perished, I have perished.

²⁰ And there was also a man who prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to the words of Jeremiah. ²¹ And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the rulers, heard his words, the king tried to put him to death. But Urijah heard, and he was afraid, and fled, and went to Egypt. ²² And Jehoiakim the king sent men to Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him into Egypt. ²³ And they brought Urijah out of Egypt and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who struck him with the sword, and threw his dead body into the graves of the sons of the people. ²⁴ But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

¹⁰ Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are you when they shall reproach you, and persecute you, and shall say every evil word against you, lying, on account of Me. ¹² Rejoice and leap for joy, for your reward is great in Heaven; for in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

²² And you will be hated by all on account of My name, but the one enduring to the end shall be kept safe.

³⁹ The one finding his life shall lose it. And the one losing his life on account of Me shall find it.

²⁵ For whoever may desire to save his life will lose it. But whoever may lose his life for My sake will find it.

²⁹ And everyone who left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

²² Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they cut you off, and will reproach you, and will cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man; ²³ rejoice in that day, and leap for joy; for, behold, your reward is much in Heaven! For their fathers did according to these things to the prophets.

²⁴ For whoever desires to save his life, he will lose it. But whoever loses his life for My sake, this one will save it.

³³ Whoever seeks to save his life, he will lose it. And whoever will lose it, he will preserve it.

²⁵ The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it to everlasting life. ²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will also be. And if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

²⁰ Remember the Word which I said to you, A slave is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted Me, they also will persecute you. If they kept My Word, they also will keep yours. ²¹ But all these things they will do to you on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

¹⁶ For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of My name.

²⁴ But I make account of nothing, nor do I hold my life precious to myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, fully to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

¹³ But Paul answered, What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I not only am ready to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

²³ And I do this for the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker of it.

¹⁰ Because of this, I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in dire needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Christ. For when I may be weak, then I am powerful.

⁸ Then do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me, His prisoner. But suffer hardship with the gospel, according to the power of God,

¹¹ Faithful is the Word: for if we died with Him, we also shall live with Him; ¹² if we endure, we shall also reign with Him; if we deny Him, that One will deny us; ¹³ if we are unfaithful, that One remains faithful; He is not able to deny Himself.

⁶ For I am already being poured out, and the time of my release is here. ⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. ⁸ For the rest, the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me in that Day, and not only to me, but also to all the ones loving His appearance.

³⁵ Women received their dead by resurrection; but others were beaten to death, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

¹² Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial happening among you for your testing, as if a surprise were occurring to you; ¹³ but according as you share the sufferings of Christ, rejoice; so that you may rejoice exultingly at the revelation of His glory. ¹⁴ If you are reviled in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because "the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you." Truly, according to them, He is blasphemed; but according to you, He is glorified. Isa. 11:2 ¹⁵ For do not let any of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in the affairs of others. ¹⁶ But if one suffers as a Christian, do not let him be ashamed, but to glorify God in this respect.

¹⁰ Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to throw you into prison, so that you may be tried; and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are those coming out of the great tribulation; and they washed their robes and whitened them in the blood of the Lamb.

¹¹ And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. And they did not love their soul even until death.
