⁴¹ But give alms of the things which are within, and behold, all things are clean to you.

⁸ But you shall surely open your hand to him, and shall surely lend him enough for his need in that which he lacks. ⁹ Beware that there is no evil thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release draws near; and your eye be evil against your needy brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to Jehovah against you and it be sin to you. ¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because Jehovah your God will bless you for this thing, in all your work, and in all that you put your hand to.

¹⁶ He also is my salvation, for an ungodly one shall not come before Him. ¹⁷ Listen carefully to my words, and let what I say be in your ears; ¹⁸ Behold now, I have set my cause in order; I know that I shall be justified. ¹⁹ Who is he who will strive with me? For then I would be quiet and die. ²⁰ Only two things do not do to me, O God; then I will not hide myself from Your face:

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who acts wisely toward the poor; Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

⁹ He has scattered; he has given to the needy; his righteousness is standing forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor.

³¹ He who oppresses the poor curses his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to Jehovah, and He will reward his dealing to him.

¹ Send out your bread on the face of the waters, for you shall find it in many days. ² Give a share to seven, or even to eight; for you do not know what evil may be on the earth.

⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor home? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break as the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. ⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah will answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am . If you put the yoke away from among you, the sending out of the finger, and the speaking of vanity; ¹⁰ and if you let out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall be as the noonday. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall always guide you, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and support your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

²⁷ So, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

⁴² He asking you to give, and he wishing to borrow from you, do not turn away.

¹ Be careful not to do your merciful deeds before men in order to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in Heaven. ² Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, do not trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. ³ But you doing merciful deeds, do not let your left know what your right hand does, ⁴ so that your merciful deeds may be in secret. And your Father seeing in secret Himself will repay you in the open.

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, the blessed of My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink? ³⁸ And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You ? ³⁹ And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.

¹¹ For you always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where a thief cannot come near, nor moth can corrupt.

¹² And He also said to him who had invited Him, When you make a dinner or supper, do not call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also should invite you in return, and it become a repayment to you. ¹³ But when you make a banquet, call the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; ¹⁴ and then you will be blessed, for they have nothing to repay you. For it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just.

⁹ And I say to you, Make to yourselves friends by the unrighteous mammon, that when it fails they may take you into the eternal dwellings.

²² And hearing these things, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing is lacking to you: sell all, as much as you have, and give to the poor; and you will have treasure in Heaven. And come, follow Me.

⁸ But standing, Zaccheus said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor. And if in anything I accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold.

³⁶ And in Joppa was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which translated is called Dorcas Gazelle . She was full of good works and of alms which she did. ³⁷ And it happened in those days, becoming ill, she died. And bathing her, they put her in an upper room. ³⁸ And Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples hearing that Peter is in it, they sent two men to him, begging him not to delay to come to them. ³⁹ And rising up Peter went with them, and having arrived they led to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him, weeping and showing tunics and garments such as Dorcas made while being with them.

¹⁵ And again a voice came to him a second time, What things God made clean, you do not make common.

³¹ And he said, Cornelius, your prayer was heard and your alms were remembered before God. ³² Therefore, send to Joppa and call for Simon who is surnamed Peter; this one is lodged in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea. Having come, he will speak to you.

²⁹ And according as any was prospered, the disciples, each of them, determined to send for ministry to those brothers living in Judea,

¹⁷ And after many years I arrived doing alms and offerings to my nation,

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing by itself is common; except to the one counting anything to be common, it is common. ¹⁵ But if your brother is grieved because of your food, you no longer walk according to love. Do not by your food destroy that one for whom Christ died. ¹⁶ Then do not let your good be spoken evil of. ¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ For the one serving Christ in these things is pleasing to God, and approved by men.

⁷ But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love in us, that you also should abound in this grace. ⁸ I do not speak according to command, but through the earnestness of others and testing the trueness of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, He became poor for your sake, so that you might become rich by the poverty of that One.

¹² For if the eagerness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

⁶ And this: the one sowing sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one sowing on hope of blessings will also reap on blessings. ⁷ Each one as he purposes in his heart, not out of grief or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. Prov. 22:8 ⁸ And God is able to make all grace to abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self sufficiency, you may abound to every good work; ⁹ even as it has been written, "He scattered, he gave to the poor, his righteousness abides forever." Psa. 112:9 ¹⁰ Now He that supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed and increase the fruits of your righteousness, ¹¹ in everything you being enriched to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us. ¹² Because the ministry of this service is not only making up the things lacking of the saints, but also multiplying through many thanksgivings to God, ¹³ through the proof of this service, they glorifying God by your freely expressed submission to the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of the fellowship toward them and toward all; ¹⁴ and in their prayer for you, a longing after you, because of the overflowing grace of God on you. ¹⁵ But thanks be to God for His unspeakable free gift.

²⁸ The one stealing, let him steal no more, but rather let him labor, working what is good with the hands, that he may have something to give to the one that has need.

⁴ Because every creature of God is good, and nothing to be thrust away, but having been received with thanksgiving; ⁵ for through God's Word and prayerful intercourse, it is sanctified.

¹⁵ Truly, all things are pure to the pure, but to the ones having been defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience has been defiled.

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed to His name, ministering to the saints, and now are ministering.

¹⁶ But do not be forgetful of doing good and sharing, for God is well pleased with such sacrifices.

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ?

¹⁶ By this we have known the love of God, because that One laid down His life for us; and on behalf of the brothers we ought to lay down our lives. ¹⁷ Whoever has the means of life of the world, and sees his brother having need, and shuts up his bowels from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
