¹ From where do wars and fightings among you come ? Is it not from this, from your lusts warring in your members?

⁵ And He did not look to Cain and to his offering. And Cain glowed greatly with anger, and his face fell. ⁶ And Jehovah said to Cain, Why have you angrily glowed, and why has your face fallen? ⁷ If you do well, is there not exaltation? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is toward you; but you should rule over it. ⁸ And Cain talked with his brother Abel. And it happened as they were in the field, Cain rose up against His brother Abel, and killed him.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is incurable; who can know it?

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, pass out the evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, greedy desires, iniquities, deceit, lustful desires, a wicked eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things pass out from within and defile the man.

⁴⁴ You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. That one was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sin were working in our members through the law for the bearing of fruit unto death.

²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members.

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be .

¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do.

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry;

⁴ he has been puffed up, understanding nothing, but is sick concerning doubts and arguments, out of which comes envy, strife, evil-speakings, evil suspicions, ⁵ meddling, of men whose mind has been corrupted and deprived of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness. Withdraw from such persons . ⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we have brought nothing into the world, and it is plain that neither can we carry anything out. ⁸ But having food and clothing, we will be satisfied with these. ⁹ But those having purposed to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which plunge men into destruction and loss. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some having lusted after it were seduced from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.

³ For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

⁹ But keep back from foolish questionings and genealogies and arguments and quarrels of law, for they are unprofitable and vain.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, having been drawn out and having been seduced by them .

¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and contention in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, beastly, devilish. ¹⁶ For where jealousy and contention are, there is confusion and every foul deed. ¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is firstly truly pure, then peaceable, forbearing, yielding, full of mercy and of good fruits, not partial and not pretended. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for the ones making peace.

³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, in order that you may spend on your lusts.

¹⁴ as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves to your former lusts in your ignorance,

¹¹ Beloved, I exhort you as temporary residents and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul;

² for him no longer to live in the lusts of men, but to live the remaining time in the flesh in the will of God. ³ For the time of life having passed is sufficient for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, parties, carousings, and unlawful idolatries;

¹⁸ For speaking great swelling words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure those indeed escaping the ones living in error,

³ first, knowing this, that during the last days scoffers will come walking according to their own lusts,

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and its lust. But the one doing the will of God abides forever.

¹⁶ These are murmurers, complainers, having gone according to their lusts, and their mouth speaks proud things, admiring faces for the sake of gain. ¹⁷ But you, beloved, remember the words spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁸ because they told you that at the last time there will be mockers following ungodlinesses according to their lusts.
