² And My hand has made all these things, even all these things exist, declares Jehovah. But I will look toward this one, to the afflicted, and to the contrite of spirit, even trembling at My word.

¹ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; ² and the earth being without form and empty, and darkness on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moving gently on the face of the waters, ³ then God said, Let light be! And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good, and God separated between the light and darkness. ⁵ And God called the light, Day. And He called the darkness, Night. And there was evening, and there was morning the first day. ⁶ And God said, Let an expanse be in the midst of the waters, and let it divide between the waters and the waters. ⁷ And God made the expanse, and He separated between the waters which were under the expanse and the waters which were above the expanse. And it was so. ⁸ And God called the expanse, Heavens. And there was evening, and there was morning the second day. ⁹ And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be collected to one place, and let the dry land appear. And it was so. ¹⁰ And God called the dry land, Earth. And He called the collection of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good. ¹¹ And God said, Let the earth sprout tender sprouts, the plant seeding seed, the fruit tree producing fruit according to its kind, whichever seed is in it on the earth. And it was so. ¹⁶ And God made the two great luminaries: the great luminary to rule the day, and the small luminary and the stars to rule the night. ¹⁷ And God set them in the expanse of the heavens, to give light on the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night; and to divide between the light and the darkness. And God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ And there was evening, and there was morning the fourth day. ²⁰ And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a soul of life; and let the birds fly over the earth, on the face of the expanse of the heavens. ²¹ And God created the great sea animals, and all that creeps, having a living soul, which swarmed the waters, according to its kind; and every bird with wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²² And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas; and let the birds multiply in the earth. ²³ And there was evening, and there was morning the fifth day. ²⁴ And God said, Let the earth bring forth the soul of life according to its kind: cattle, and creepers, and its beasts of the earth, according to its kind. And it was so. ²⁵ And God made the beasts of the earth according to its kind, and cattle according to its kind, and all creepers of the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And God said, let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth. ²⁷ And God created the man in His own image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female. ²⁸ And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over birds of the heavens, and over all beasts creeping on the earth. ²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given you every plant seeding seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree seeding seed; it shall be food for you. ³⁰ And to every beast of the earth, and to all birds of the heavens, and to every creeper on the earth which has in it a living soul, every green plant is for food. And it was so. ³¹ And God saw everything that He had made and behold, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning the sixth day.

¹⁹ (because your heart was tender, and you have bowed before Jehovah when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, to become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and have wept before Me;) even also I have heard, says Jehovah. ²⁰ Behold! Even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought back this word to the king.

²⁷ Because your heart is tender, and you were humbled before God when you heard His words concerning this place, and concerning its inhabitants, and were humbled before Me, and have torn your garments and wept before Me; I have even heard also, says Jehovah. ²⁸ Behold I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes will not look upon all the evil I shall bring upon this place, and on its inhabitants. And they brought the king word again.

⁴ Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel were gathered to me, because of the perfidy of the exiles. And I remained stunned until the evening offering.

³ And now let us cut a covenant with our God to put away all the women, and those born of them, according to the counsel of the Lord and of those who tremble at the command of our God. And let it be done according to the law.

¹⁸ Jehovah is near those who are broken-hearted, and saves those who have a contrite spirit.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

¹²⁰ My flesh has shivered because of Your fear; and I have feared Your judgments.

¹⁶¹ Shin. Princes have persecuted me without cause; but my heart has feared at Your word.

⁶ Though Jehovah is high, yet He looks upon the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar.

¹⁴ Oh the happiness of a man who is awed by God constantly! But he who hardens his heart falls into evil.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high and look: Who has created these? Who brings out their host by number? By greatness of vigor, and might of power, He calls them all by names; not one is lacking.

¹⁵ For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, and His name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble of spirit; to make live the spirit of the humble and to make live the heart of the contrite ones.

¹ The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me, because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, and complete opening to the bound ones;

⁵ Hear the word of Jehovah, those who tremble at His word. Your brothers who hate you, who drive you out for My name's sake, have said, Jehovah is glorified. But He shall appear in your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth. ²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst. ⁵ And He said to those in my hearing, Pass over in the city after him and strike. Do not let your eye spare, and do not have pity. ⁶ Slay old men, choice men, and virgins, and children, and women, all to destruction. But to every man who has the mark on him, do not come near. And begin from My sanctuary. And they began with the old men who were before the house.

¹⁶ I heard, and my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled within myself that I might rest for the day of distress; to come up against the peoples; he cuts him off.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of the Heavens. ⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted.

¹³ And standing at a distance, the tax collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner! ¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house having been justified, rather than that one. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.

⁶ Both trembling and being astonished he said, Lord, what do you desire me to do? And the Lord said to him, Rise up and go into the city, and it will be told you what you must do.

²⁹ And asking for lights, he rushed in. And becoming trembly, he fell before Paul and Silas. ³⁰ And leading them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?

¹² So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation with fear and trembling,

¹⁷ And He is before all things, and all things consist in Him.

² in these last days He spoke to us in the Son, whom He appointed heir of all; through whom He indeed made the ages; ³ who being the shining splendor of His glory, and the express image of His essence, and upholding all things by the word of His power, having made purification of our sins through Himself, He sat down on the right of the Majesty on high, Psa. 110:1
