⁶⁷ And Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah. And he took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother.

²² And Jehovah God formed the rib which He had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man. ²³ And the man said, This now at last is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. For this shall be called Woman, because this has been taken out of man. ²⁴ Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

⁶ And Abraham ran into the tent to Sarah and said, Hurry, prepare three measures of fine meal, knead it and make cakes.

⁹ And they said to him, Where is your wife Sarah? And he said, See, in the tent. ¹⁰ And He said, I will certainly return to you at the time of life; and, Behold! A son shall be to your wife Sarah. And Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, and it was behind Him.

¹ And the life of Sarah was a hundred and twenty seven years, the years of the life of Sarah. ² And Sarah died in Kirjatharba, it is Hebron, in the land of Canaan. And Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

²⁰ And Isaac was a son of forty years when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Padanaram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to him for a wife.

¹⁸ And Jacob loved Rachel, and said, I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.

³⁵ And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him. And he refused to be comforted, and said, I will go down to Sheol mourning for my son. And his father wept for him.

¹² And the days were many, and the wife of Judah, the daughter of Shuah, died. And Judah was comforted, and he went up to the shearers of his flocks, he and his friend Hirah of Adullam, to Timnah.

² I would lead You; I would bring You into my mother's house, that You might teach me; I would cause You to drink the spiced wine from the juice of my pomegranate.

¹ Rejoice, unfruitful one who never bore; break out a song and shout, you who never travailed. For the sons of the desolate one are more than the sons of the married woman, says Jehovah. ² Make the place of your tent larger, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare, lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes. ³ For you shall break forth on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall possess nations, and people will inhabit ruined cities. ⁴ Do not fear, for you shall not be shamed, nor shall you be abashed, for you shall not be wounded. For you shall forget the shame of your youth, and you shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more. ⁵ For your Maker is your husband; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of all the earth.

¹ I would that you were bearing with me a little in foolishness; but, indeed, bear with me. ² For I am jealous over you with a jealousy of God. For I have promised you to one Man, to present you a pure virgin to Christ.

²² Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord, ²³ because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the church, and He is Savior of the body. ²⁴ But even as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up on its behalf, ²⁶ that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies, (he loving his wife loves himself), ²⁹ for then no one hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as also the Lord the church. ³⁰ For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. ³¹ "For this a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh." Gen. 2:24 ³² The mystery is great, but I speak as to Christ and as to the church. ³³ However, you also, everyone, let each love his wife as himself, and the wife, that she give deference to the husband.

¹³ But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who sleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, not having hope.

¹⁵ For we say this to you in the Word of the Lord, that we the living who remain to the coming of the Lord not at all will go before those who have fallen asleep.
