¹ And Abraham moved from there to the land of the Negeb, and lived between Kadesh and Shur, and stayed in Gerar. ² And Abraham said with regards to his wife Sarah, She is my sister. And Abimelech the king of Gerar sent and took Sarah. ³ But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him, Behold, you are about to die because of the woman you have taken, she being married to a husband. ⁴ And Abimelech had not come near her. And he said, O Lord, will You slay even a righteous nation? ⁵ And did he not say to me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the honor of my heart and the purity of my hands I have done this. ⁶ And God said to him in a dream, Yes, I know that you did this in the honor of your heart, and I also withheld you from sinning against Me. On account of this I did not allow you to touch her. ⁷ And now return the wife of the man, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you shall live. And if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you and all that are yours. ⁸ And Abimelech started up early in the morning and called for all his servants. And he spoke all these words in their ears. And the men were greatly afraid. ⁹ And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, What have you done to us? And in what have I offended you that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done things to me that ought not to be done. ¹⁰ And Abimelech said to Abraham, What did you see that you have done this thing? ¹¹ And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake. ¹² And yet she really is my sister, daughter of my father; only not daughter of my mother. And she became my wife. ¹³ And it happened when God made me wander from my father's house I said to her, This is your kindness which you do to me: at every place where we come there, say of me, He is my brother. ¹⁴ Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and male slaves, and slave-girls, and gave to Abraham. And he returned his wife Sarah to him. ¹⁵ Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before you. Live where it pleases you. ¹⁶ And he said to Sarah, I, behold, I have given a thousand of silver to your brother. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all who are with you. And with all this you are justified. ¹⁷ And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his concubines, and they gave birth. ¹⁸ For Jehovah had completely closed up every womb of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, the wife of Abraham.

¹⁹ And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, as far as Gaza, as you go in towards Sodom and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even to Lasha.

¹ And Abram went up out of Egypt into the Negeb, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot being with him.

⁷ And they turned back and came to Enmishpat which is Kadesh, and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who lived in Hazazon Thamar.

¹ And Sarai, Abram's wife, did not bear to him; and to her belonged a female slave, an Egyptian, and her name was Hagar.

⁷ And the Angel of Jehovah found her by a well of water in the wilderness; by the well in the way of Shur.

¹⁴ On account of this, the well was called, The Well of the Living One Seeing Me. Behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

¹ And Jehovah appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre. And he was sitting at the door of the tent in the heat of the day.

⁶² And Isaac had come from the gate of the Well of the Living One My Beholder. And he was dwelling in the land of the Negeb.

¹ And a famine was in the land besides the famine in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, to Gerar.

⁶ And Isaac lived in Gerar.

²⁰ And the shepherds of Gerar fought with the shepherds of Isaac, saying, The water is ours; and he called the name of the well, Contention, for they had contended with him.

²⁶ And Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and his aide Ahuzzath, and Phicol the general of his army.

²⁶ And they traveled and came in to Moses and to Aaron, and to all the tabernacle of the congregation of the sons of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh. And they brought them and all the congregation word, and showed them the fruit of the land.

¹⁶ And we cried to Jehovah, and He heard our voice, and sent a messenger, and is bringing us out of Egypt; and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your border.

¹⁹ And we pulled up stakes from Horeb and went through all that great and fearful wilderness which you have seen, the way of the hills of the Amorites, as Jehovah our God commanded us. And we came into Kadesh-barnea.

⁵¹ because you transgressed toward Me among the sons of Israel at the Waters of Strife in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you did not sanctify Me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁷ And Saul struck Amalek from Havilah, as you go to Shur, which is before Egypt.

¹³ And Asa and the people with him pursued them even to Gerar. And all of the Cushites fell, for there was not one left alive to them; because they had broken before Jehovah, and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder. ¹⁴ And they struck all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of Jehovah had come on them. And they plundered all the cities, for there was much booty in them.

⁸ The voice of Jehovah shakes the wilderness; Jehovah shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

¹¹ And it happened when he had drawn near to come to Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, Behold, please, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look upon. ¹² And it will be, when the Egyptians see you, then they will say, This is his wife, and they will kill me, and they will save you alive. ¹³ Please say that you are my sister, so that it may be well with me for your sake, and my soul shall live because of you.

¹⁵ And Pharaoh's princes saw her, and they praised her before Pharaoh. And the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.

¹² And yet she really is my sister, daughter of my father; only not daughter of my mother. And she became my wife.

⁷ And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, She is my sister, for he was afraid to say, My wife, lest the men of the place kill me on account of Rebekah, for she was beautiful of form.

¹⁶ And Abimelech said to Isaac, Go from us, for you are stronger than we.

² And Jehu the son of Hanani, the seer, went out before him and said to king Jehoshaphat, Do you love to help the bad one, and those who hate Jehovah, and by this bring wrath on you from the face of Jehovah?

³⁷ And Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, Jehovah has broken your works. And the ships were broken, so that they did not hold to go to Tarshish.

³¹ Even so with the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, those sent to him to inquire of the wonder that had been in the land, God left him to test him, to know all his heart.

¹⁶ for a just one falls seven times, and rises up again, but the wicked shall stumble into evil.

²⁰ For there is not a just man on the earth who does good, and does not sin.

¹¹ But when Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was to be blamed. ¹² For before some came from James, he ate with the nations. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, being afraid of those of the circumcision.

²⁵ Therefore, putting off the false," speak truth each with his neighbor," because we are members of one another. Zech. 8:16

⁹ Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices,

⁷ And now return the wife of the man, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you, and you shall live. And if you do not return her, know that you shall surely die, you and all that are yours.

¹² And he dreamed. And, behold, a ladder was placed on the earth, its top reaching to the heavens. And, behold, the angels of God were going up and going down on it!

²⁴ And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream of the night, and said to him, Watch out for yourself, that you not speak with Jacob from good to evil.

¹ And it happened at the end of two years of days, Pharaoh was dreaming. And, lo, he was standing by the River. ² And, behold! Seven cows were going up from the River, beautiful of appearance and fat of flesh; and they were eating in the reeds. ³ And, behold, seven other cows were going up after them from the River, evil of appearance and lean of flesh. And they were standing beside the cows on the lip of the River. ⁴ And the evil-appearing and leanfleshed cows were eating the seven cows of beautiful and fat appearance. And Pharaoh awoke. ⁵ And he slept and dreamed a second time. And, behold, seven ears of grain were coming up on one stalk, fat and good. ⁶ And, behold, seven ears of grain, being lean and blasted by the east wind, sprouting forth after them. ⁷ And the seven lean ears were swallowing the seven fat and full ears. And Pharaoh awakened; and, lo, it was a dream. ⁸ And it happened in the morning, his spirit was troubled. And he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all its wise men. And Pharaoh told them his dream, and there was no interpreter of them to Pharaoh. ⁹ And the chief of the cupbearers spoke with Pharaoh, saying, I mention my sin today. ¹⁰ Pharaoh was angry against his servants, and gave me into custody in the house of the chief of the executioners, me and the chief of the bakers. ¹¹ And we dreamed a dream in one night, he and I; we each dreamed according to the interpretation of his dream. ¹² And a Hebrew youth was with us, a slave to the chief of the executioners. And we told him, and he interpreted our dreams to us; he interpreted to each according to his dream. ¹³ And it happened, as he had interpreted to us, so it was; he returned me to my place, and he hanged him. ¹⁴ And Pharaoh sent and called Joseph; and they rushed him from the dungeon. And he shaved and changed his clothing and came in to Pharaoh. ¹⁵ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one to interpret it; and I have heard about you, saying, you hear a dream to interpret it. ¹⁶ And Joseph replied to Pharaoh, saying, Not I! God will answer the welfare of Pharaoh. ¹⁷ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, In my dream, lo, I was standing on the lip of the River. ¹⁸ And, behold, seven cows were going up from the River, fat of flesh and beautiful of form, and were feeding in the reeds. ¹⁹ And, behold, seven other cows were going up after them, poor and very evil of form, and lean of flesh; I have not seen any like them in all the land of Egypt for badness. ²⁰ And the cows, the lean and the evil, ate the first seven fat cows. ²¹ And they went into their stomachs, and it could not be seen that they had gone into their stomachs; and their appearance was as evil as at the beginning. And I awakened. ²² And I looked in my dream. And, behold, seven ears of grain were coming up on one stalk, full and good. ²³ And, behold, seven ears, withered, lean, blasted by the east wind, sprouting forth after them. ²⁴ And the lean ears were swallowing the seven good ears. And I spoke to the magicians, but not one is making known the meaning to me. ²⁵ And Joseph said to Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one. God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do. ²⁶ The seven good cows, they are seven years and the seven good ears, they are seven years; it is one dream. ²⁷ And the seven thin and evil-appearing cows going up after them, they are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted by the east wind will be seven years of famine. ²⁸ This is the word that I spoke to Pharaoh: what God is about to do, He has shown Pharaoh ²⁹ Behold! Seven years of great plenty are coming in all the land of Egypt. ³⁰ And seven years of famine will arise after them and all the plenty of the land of Egypt will be forgotten; and the famine will consume the land. ³¹ And the plenty in the land will not be remembered because of that famine afterwards; for it will be very severe ³² And as to the dream being repeated to Pharaoh twice, the thing is settled because it is from God, and God is hastening to do it. ³³ And now let Pharaoh look for a man who is intelligent and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. ³⁴ Let Pharaoh act and let him appoint rulers over the land and take a fifth of the land of Egypt in the seven years of plenty. ³⁵ And let then gather all the food of these coming good years. And let them heap up grain under Pharaoh's hand as food in the cities, ant let them keep it . ³⁶ And let the food be for a store for the land, for the seven years of famine which will be in the land of Egypt and let not the land be cut off by famine

¹² Now a word was stolen to me, and my ear received a whisper of it. ¹³ In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

¹⁵ In a dream, a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men; while they slumber on the bed,

¹⁴ He allowed no man to oppress them; yea, He reproved kings for their sakes;

¹⁴ And though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin and does justice and righteousness, ¹⁵ if the wicked returns the pledge, he repays the thing stolen, he walks in the statutes of life, not doing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

⁴ And Jonah began to enter a day's journey into the city. And he cried out and said, Yet forty days and Nineveh shall be overthrown!

²⁰ And as he was thinking about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord was seen by him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For that in her is fathered by the Holy Spirit.

¹² And having been warned by a dream not to return to Herod, they went back into their own country by another way. ¹³ And they having departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph by a dream, saying, Rise up! Take the child and His mother with you, and flee into Egypt. And be there until I shall tell you. For Herod is about to look for the child in order to destroy Him.

¹⁹ But as he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Let nothing be to you and that just one. For I have suffered many things today by a dream because of him.

²³ And Abraham drew near and said Is it so? Will You cut off the righteous with the wicked? ²⁴ Perhaps there are fifty righteous within the city; is it so You will cut off and will not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous ones that are within it? ²⁵ Far be it from You to act in this way, to put to death the righteous with the wicked. Far be it from You. The Judge of all the earth, shall He not do right?

²⁴ And Jehovah rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from Jehovah out of the heavens.

⁶ And God said to him in a dream, Yes, I know that you did this in the honor of your heart, and I also withheld you from sinning against Me. On account of this I did not allow you to touch her.

¹⁷ And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his concubines, and they gave birth. ¹⁸ For Jehovah had completely closed up every womb of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, the wife of Abraham.

¹¹ And when wicked men have slain a righteous man in his own house on his bed, should I not even now seek his blood from your hand, and glean you from the earth?

¹⁷ And David said to God, Was it not I, I who said to number the people? Yea, it was I who sinned, and truly have done evil; and these, the flock, what have they done? O Jehovah, my God, I pray You, let Your hand be on me and on my father's house, and not on Your people, to be plagued.

²² Jehovah is the God of gods; Jehovah is the God of gods! He knows, and Israel shall know, if it is in rebellion, and if it is in treachery against Jehovah, you shall not save us alive today.

⁴ And you, if you walk before me as your father David walked, in singleness of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you; you shall keep My statutes and My judgments;

³ I pray to You, O Jehovah, please remember how I have walked always before your face in truth, and with a perfect heart, and I have done the good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.

⁹ You said, I am pure, without transgression; I am clean and no iniquity is in me;

⁸ Jehovah will judge the people. O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity on me.

⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to guile, and has not sworn in deceit.

²¹ Let purity and uprightness keep me, for I wait on You.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocency; so I will go around Your altar, O Jehovah,

¹³ Surely I have purified my heart in vain; and I have washed my hands in innocence.

⁷² And he fed them in the integrity of his heart; and guided them in the skillfulness of his hands.

³ The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of traitors will devastate them.

⁷ The just one walks in his integrity, blessed are his sons after him!

²² My God has sent His Angel, and He has shut the mouths of the lions. And they have not hurt me, because in His sight purity was found in me. And also before you, O king, I have done no harm.

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁰ You and God are witnesses how holily and righteously and blamelessly we were to you, those believing;

¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I received mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief.

³ but of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.

¹⁸ For Jehovah had completely closed up every womb of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, the wife of Abraham.

¹¹ And Abimelech commanded all the people, saying, Anyone touching this man and his wife shall surely be put to death.

⁷ And your father has cheated me and has changed my wages ten times. And God has not let him do evil to me.

⁵ And they pulled up stakes . And the terror of God was on the cities all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

⁹ No one in this house is greater than I, and he has not withheld anything from me except you, because you are his wife. And how should I do this great evil and sin against God?

²⁴ For I will expel nations from before your face and will make broad your territory; and no one shall covet your land, as you go up to appear before Jehovah your God three times in the year.

² If any person sins and is slyly treacherous against Jehovah, and deals falsely with his neighbor concerning a deposit, or concerning security, or by robbery, or has extorted his neighbor,

²⁶ And now, my lord, as Jehovah lives, and as your soul lives, in that Jehovah has withheld you from coming in with blood, and delivering your hand for you; even now let your enemies be as Nabal, even those seeking evil to my lord.

³⁴ And, indeed, as Jehovah the God of Israel lives, who has kept me back from doing evil to you, for unless you had hurried and had come to meet me, surely there would not have been left to Nabal one who urinates against the wall till the light of morning.

⁴ Against You, You only, I have sinned, and done evil in Your eyes; that You might be justified in Your speaking and be clear when You judge.

¹² So I gave them up to the stubbornness of their own hearts; they walked in their own conceits.

¹¹ For Jehovah God is a sun and shield; Jehovah will give grace and glory; He will withhold nothing good from those who walk in integrity.

¹ As streams of waters, the king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah; He turns it wherever He desires.

⁶ Therefore, behold, I will hedge your way with thorns, and I will wall up her wall, that she shall not find her paths. ⁷ And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them. And she shall look for them, but she shall not find them . Then she shall say, I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now.

¹ But concerning what you wrote to me, it is good for a man not to touch a woman;

¹⁷ Because of this, "come out from among them" "and be separated," says the Lord, "and do not touch the unclean thing," and I will receive you. Isa. 52:11

⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness already is working, only he is holding back now, until it comes out of the midst.

¹¹ And because of this, God will send to them a working of error, for them to believe the lie,

¹⁷ but of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil you may not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die.

¹⁷ And Jehovah touched Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

¹⁶ And he shall speak for you to the people. And it shall be, he shall be a mouth for you, and you shall be a god for him.

¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet.

¹⁷ And the father-in-law of Moses said to him, The thing which you do is not good.

⁴ then it shall be, when he sins and is guilty, he shall return what he got by robbery, that which he robbed, or the extorted thing which he extorted, or the deposit which had been deposited with him, or the lost thing which he had found;

⁷ And the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah, and as regards to one thing of all that he has done, it shall be forgiven him, by being guilty in it.

³² and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them, and their houses, and all the men who were for Korah, and all their possessions. ³³ And they went down, they and all that they had, alive to Sheol, and the earth covered over them; and they perished from the midst of the assembly.

⁵ And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to Jehovah for you.

⁸ And the sons of Israel said to Samuel, Do not cease to cry to Jehovah our God for us, that He save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

¹⁹ And all the people said to Samuel, Pray to Jehovah your God for your servants, and not we will die, for we have added this evil to all our sins to ask a king for ourselves.

²³ Also I, far be it from me from sinning against Jehovah, from ceasing to pray for you. But I will instruct you in the good and the right way.

¹⁷ And when he saw the angel who was striking among the people, David spoke to Jehovah and said, Behold, I have sinned. Yea, I have acted perversely. And these, the flock, what have they done? Now let your hand be on me, and on my father's house.

⁶ And the king answered and said to the man of God, Please entreat the face of Jehovah your God, and pray for me, and my hand shall come back to me. And the man of God entreated the face of Jehovah, and the hand of the king came back to him, and it was as at the beginning.

¹ And it happened after many days the word of Jehovah came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will give rain on the face of the earth. ² And Elijah went to be seen by Ahab. And the famine in Samaria was severe. ³ And Ahab called to Obadiah, who was over the house (and Obadiah greatly feared Jehovah; ⁴ and it happened, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of Jehovah, that Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and had hidden them, fifty men in a cave, and had fed them with bread and water) ⁵ and Ahab said to Obadiah, Go through the land to all the fountains of water, and to all the torrents; perhaps we may find grass and keep alive horse and mule, and will not cut off any of the livestock. ⁶ And they divided the land to themselves, to pass over into it; Ahab went in one way by himself, and Obadiah went in another way by himself. ⁷ And Obadiah was in the highway; and behold, Elijah came to meet him. And he recognized him, and he fell on his face, and said, Are you this one, my lord Elijah? ⁸ And he said to him, I am; Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah! ⁹ And he said, What have I sinned, that you are giving your servant into the hand of Ahab to kill me? ¹⁰ As Jehovah your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you; and when they said, He is not here, then he caused the kingdom and the nation to swear that it did not find you. ¹¹ And now, you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah. ¹² And it shall be, I will go away from you, and the Spirit of Jehovah will lift you up, where I do not know, and I will come to tell Ahab, and he will not find you, and he will kill me. And your servant has feared Jehovah from my youth. ¹³ Was it not told to my lord that which I did when Jezebel killed the prophets of Jehovah, but I hid a hundred men of the prophets, fifty by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water? ¹⁴ And now you are saying, Go, say to your lord, Behold, Elijah, and he will kill me! ¹⁵ And Elijah said, As Jehovah of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely today I will be seen by him. ¹⁶ And Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah. ¹⁷ And it happened when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, Are you he, the disturber of Israel? ¹⁸ And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals. ¹⁹ And now send, gather all Israel to me, to Mount Carmel and four hundred and fifty of the prophets of Baal, and four hundred of the prophets of Asherah, who eat at the table of Jezebel. ²⁰ And Ahab sent among all the sons of Israel and gathered the prophets to Mount Carmel. ²¹ And Elijah came near all the people and said, Until when are you limping over two opinions? If Jehovah is God, follow Him; and if Baal, follow him. But the people did not answer him a word. ²² Then Elijah said to the people, I, I alone, remain a prophet of Jehovah; but the prophets of Baal are four hundred and fifty men. ²³ Then let them give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and place it on the wood, and place no fire. And I, I will prepare the other bullock and will put it on the wood, and I will not place fire. ²⁴ And you shall call on the name of your god; and I, I will call on the name of Jehovah; and it shall be, the god who answers by fire, he is the God. And all the people answered and said, The word is good. ²⁵ And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose the one bullock for yourself, and prepare first, for you are many; and you call on the name of your god, but place no fire. ²⁶ And they took the bullock that was given to them, and prepared, and called on the name of Baal from the morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us! And there was no sound, and no one was answering; and they leaped about the altar that one had made. ²⁷ And it happened at noon, that Elijah taunted them and said, Call with a loud voice, for he is a god; for he is meditating, or pursuing, or on a journey; it may be he is asleep and must be awakened. ²⁸ And they called with a loud voice, and cut themselves, according to their way, with swords and with spears until blood gushed out on them. ²⁹ And it happened as noon passed by, that they prophesied madly until the offering up of the offering; and no sound came, and no one was answering, and no one was paying attention. ³⁰ And Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me. And all the people came near to him; and he healed the altar of Jehovah that had been broken down. ³¹ And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of Jehovah came, saying, Israel shall be your name. ³² And he built an altar with the stones in the name of Jehovah, and made a trench around the altar large as two seahs of seed in space. ³³ And he arranged the wood, and cut the bullock in pieces, and placed it on the wood, and said, Fill four water jars of water and pour on the burnt offering and on the wood. ³⁴ And he said, Do it a second time; and they did it a second time; and he said, Do it a third time; and they did it a third time. ³⁵ And the water went around the altar, and also he filled the trench with water. ³⁶ And it happened at the offering of the sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and I Your servant, that by Your word I have done all these things. ³⁷ Answer me, O Jehovah, answer me; and this people shall know that You are Jehovah God; and You shall turn their hearts back again. ³⁸ And fire fell from Jehovah and burned up the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and the water in the trench was licked up. ³⁹ And all the people saw, and fell on their faces, and said, Jehovah, He is the God; Jehovah, He is the God! ⁴⁰ And Elijah said to them, Seize the prophets of Baal; do not let a man of them escape. And they caught them, and Elijah brought them down to the Kishon and killed them there. ⁴¹ And Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink, because of the sound of abundance of rain. ⁴² And Ahab went up to eat, and to drink; and Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, and he stretched himself out on the earth, and he put his face between his knees; ⁴³ and said to his young man, Now go up, look closely to the way of the sea. And he went up and looked closely, and said, There is nothing; and he said, Go back seven times. ⁴⁴ And it happened at the seventh time, he said, Behold, a little cloud like the palm of a man is coming up out of the sea. And he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Bind up and go down, that the rain may not stop you. ⁴⁵ And until this and this, it happened that the heavens became black with thick clouds and wind, and the rain was heavy; and Ahab rode and went to Jezreel; ⁴⁶ and the hand of Jehovah was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and ran before Ahab until you enter Jezreel.

¹¹ And Naaman was angry, and went on, and said, Behold, I said, He will certainly come out to me and will stand and call on the name of Jehovah his God, and will wave his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

² and he sent Eliakim, who was over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covering themselves with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz. ³ And they said to him, So says Hezekiah, it is a day of distress, and of rebuke, and of contempt today; for the sons have come to the birth, and there is no power to bring forth. ⁴ It may be that Jehovah your God will hear all the words of the chief cupbearer, with which his master the king of Assyria has sent him to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which Jehovah your God has heard; and you shall lift up prayer for the remnant that is found.

²² Touch not My anointed ones, and do My prophets no evil.

¹⁹ How much less to Him who does not lift up the face of rulers, nor regard the rich before the poor; for all of them are the work of His hands.

⁸ And now take for you seven young bulls and seven rams and go to My servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And My servant Job will pray for you. Surely I will lift up his face so as not to do with you according to your folly, in that you have not spoken the right about Me, as My servant Job.

¹⁴ The secret of Jehovah is with those who fear Him; and He will make them know His covenant.

⁹ which He cut with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac; ¹⁰ and He established it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel for a perpetual covenant; ¹¹ saying, To you I will give the land of Canaan, the portion of your inheritance; ¹² when they were a few men of number; very few, and strangers in it. ¹³ And they went about from nation to nation; from one kingdom to another people. ¹⁴ He allowed no man to oppress them; yea, He reproved kings for their sakes; ¹⁵ saying, Touch not My anointed; and, Do My prophets no harm.

¹¹ Then Jehovah said to me, Do not pray for good for this people.

¹ Then Jehovah said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My soul could not be toward this people. Send them out from before My face; yea, let them go out.

¹⁸ But if they are prophets, and if the word of Jehovah is with them, let them now intercede with Jehovah of Hosts that the vessels which are left in the house of Jehovah, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon

¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked, Surely you shall die; and you do not warn him, and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, he, the wicked, shall die in his iniquity. But I will require his blood at your hand.

⁸ When I say to the wicked, O wicked one, surely you shall die! And you do not speak to warn the wicked one from his way, that wicked one shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood from your hand.

¹⁴ And though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin and does justice and righteousness, ¹⁵ if the wicked returns the pledge, he repays the thing stolen, he walks in the statutes of life, not doing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. ¹⁶ All his sins which he has sinned shall not be remembered to him; he has done justice and righteousness, he shall surely live.

⁴ The one speaking in a tongue builds himself up, but he prophesying builds up a church.

¹ In many parts and in many ways of old, God spoke to the fathers in the prophets;

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

¹⁴ Is any among you sick? Let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will cure those being sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he may have committed sin, it will be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous one has great strength, having been made effective.

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask; and He shall give life to him, to the ones not sinning unto death. There is a sin unto death. I do not say that he should ask about that.

⁵ And if anyone desires to harm them, fire comes out of their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone desires to harm them, so it is right for him to be killed. ⁶ These have the authority to shut up the heaven, that no rain may rain in the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

¹⁸ And Pharaoh called for Abram and said, What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me she is your wife?

¹⁰ And Abimelech said, What is this you have done to us? One of the people had in a little lain with your wife, and you would have caused to come on us guilt.

⁷ And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard, and the men were furious, and they were very angry, because he had done foolishness in Israel, to lie with the daughter of Jacob, and it should not be done in this way.

²⁴ And after three months, it happened. It was told to Judah, saying, Your daughter-in-law Tamar has committed adultery, and also, behold, she is pregnant by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her out and let her be burned.

²¹ And Moses said to Aaron, What has this people done to you that you have made to come on them a great sin?

³⁵ And Jehovah plagued the people because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

¹⁰ And a man who commits adultery with a man's wife, who commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, the adulterer and the adulteress are surely to be put to death.

²⁵ And Joshua said, How you have troubled us! Jehovah shall trouble you today! And all Israel threw stones at him, and they burned them with fire, and they stoned them with stones.

¹⁸ And he said, Why is this, that my lord is pursuing his servant? For what have I done, and what in my hand is evil? ¹⁹ And now, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If Jehovah has moved you against me, let Him accept an offering. And if the sons of men, they are cursed before Jehovah; for they have driven me out today from joining myself with the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.

⁵ And David's anger glowed greatly against the man. And he said to Nathan, As Jehovah lives, surely the man who did this is a son of death.

¹⁰ And now the sword shall not turn aside from your house continually, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wile of Uriah the Hittite to be a wife to you. ¹¹ So says Jehovah, Behold, I shall raise up evil against you out of your house, and shall take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor. And he shall lie with your wives in the sight of the sun.

¹² And she said to him, No, my brother, do not humble me, for it is not done so in Israel. Do not do this foolishness.

¹⁰ He who causes the upright to go astray in an evil way shall fall into his own pit, and the blameless shall inherit good.

¹¹ For there is no respect of persons with God.

¹¹ whose mouth you must stop, who overturn whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for the sake of ill gain.

¹² And it will be, when the Egyptians see you, then they will say, This is his wife, and they will kill me, and they will save you alive.

¹² And He said, Do not lay your hand on the boy, nor do anything to him. For now I know that you are a God-fearer, and you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me.

¹⁸ And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this and live. I fear God.

¹⁵ The former governors that had been before me were too heavy on the people, and had taken bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people. But I did not do this, because of the fear of God.

¹ There was a man in the land of Uz, his name was Job. And this man was perfect and upright, and fearing God, and turning away from evil.

²⁸ And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to turn from evil is understanding.

⁴ Have all evildoers not known, eating My people as they eat bread? They have not called on Jehovah.

¹ To the chief musician; of the servant of Jehovah; of David. The oracle utters transgression to the wicked within my heart: There is no fear of God before his eyes. ² For he flatters himself in his own eyes in order to find his iniquity, in order to hate it . ³ The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he ceases to act wisely, to do good. ⁴ He plots evil on his bed; he sets himself on a way that is not good; he does not hate evil.

⁷ The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

⁵ then you shall understand the fear of Jehovah and find knowledge of God.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

⁶ Iniquity is covered by mercy and truth, and in the fear of Jehovah, men turn aside from evil.

¹⁸ there is no fear of God before their eyes." LXX-Psa. 5:10; 139:4; 9:28; Isa. 59:7, 8; Psa. 35:2; MT-Psa. 14:1 -3; 5:9; 140:3; 10:7; Isa. 59:7, 8; Psa. 36:1

²⁹ And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai. And the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

¹³ Please say that you are my sister, so that it may be well with me for your sake, and my soul shall live because of you.

²² Keep back from every appearance of evil.

¹ And Jehovah had said to Abram, Go out from your land and from your kindred, and from your father's house, to the land which I will show you.

⁹ And Abram pulled up stakes, going on and pulling up toward the Negeb.

¹¹ And it happened when he had drawn near to come to Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, Behold, please, I know that you are a beautiful woman to look upon. ¹² And it will be, when the Egyptians see you, then they will say, This is his wife, and they will kill me, and they will save you alive. ¹³ Please say that you are my sister, so that it may be well with me for your sake, and my soul shall live because of you. ¹⁴ And it happened, when Abram had come into Egypt, the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. ¹⁵ And Pharaoh's princes saw her, and they praised her before Pharaoh. And the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house. ¹⁶ And he did good to Abram because of her. And he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and male slaves, and slave-girls, and she-asses, and camels. ¹⁷ And Jehovah touched Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife. ¹⁸ And Pharaoh called for Abram and said, What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me she is your wife? ¹⁹ Why did you say, She is my sister? And so I took her for my wife. Now, then, see your wife. Take her and go. ²⁰ And as Pharaoh commanded his men as to him, even they sent away him and his wife and all that he had.

²¹ And Saul said, You are blessed of Jehovah, for you have had pity on me.

⁵ They make themselves strong in an evil plan; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?

⁹ And Peter said to her, Why was it that it was agreed with you to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those burying your husband at the door! Yea, they will carry you out.

³ and said to him, "Go out from your land and from your kindred," "and come into a land which I will show to you." Gen. 12:1 ⁴ Then going out from the land of the Chaldeans, he lived in Haran. And after his father died, God moved him from there into this land in which you now live. ⁵ And He did not give to him an inheritance in it, not even a foot breadth. And He promised to give it to him for a possession and to his seed after him, there being no child to him. Gen. 17:8

⁸ Having been called out by faith, Abraham obeyed to go forth to a place which he was going to receive for an inheritance; and he went out not understanding where he went.

¹⁶ And he did good to Abram because of her. And he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and male slaves, and slave-girls, and she-asses, and camels.

² And Abraham said with regards to his wife Sarah, She is my sister. And Abimelech the king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.

¹¹ And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake.

⁹ is not all the land before you? Please separate from me. If you go to the left, then I will go to the right. Or if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.

¹⁰ And live with us, and the land is before you; live and trade in it, and get property in it.

⁶ The land of Egypt is before you; cause your father and your brothers to live in the best of the land; let them live in the land of Goshen. And if you know men of ability are among them, make them chiefs of livestock over what is mine.

⁵ And did he not say to me, She is my sister? And she, even she herself said, He is my brother. In the honor of my heart and the purity of my hands I have done this.

⁶⁵ And she said to the slave, Who is this man walking in the field to meet us? And the slave said, It is my master. And she took the veil and covered herself.

³ And Joab said, May Jehovah add to His people as if they were a hundred times; my lord, O king, are they not all of them servants to my lord? Why does my lord desire this? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel? ⁴ But the word of the king was heavy against Joab; and Joab went out and went up and down all Israel, and came to Jerusalem. ⁵ And Joab gave the tally of the census of the people to David; and all Israel was a million and one hundred thousand men drawing sword; and Judah was four hundred and seventy thousand drawing sword. ⁶ And Levi and Benjamin he did not number among them, for the word of the king was loathsome to Joab.

⁸ Do not reprove a scorner, that he not hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. ⁹ Give to a wise one, and he will be more wise; teach a just one, and he will increase in learning.

¹ Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is like a brute animal.

¹² As a ring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover on a hearing ear.

⁵ Better is revealed reproof than secret love.

⁶ And the chief of the seamen came near to him and said to him, What is it to you, O sound sleeper? Rise up and cry out to your God! It may be our god will notice us, and we will not perish.

¹⁹ I, as many "as I love, I rebuke and I chasten." Be zealous, then, and repent. Prov. 3:12

³¹ And Jehovah saw that Leah was hated. And He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.

¹¹ And they sent and gathered all the rulers of the Philistines, and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it return to its place. And it shall not put me to death, even my people. For there had been a great destruction throughout all the city. The hand of God had been very heavy there. ¹² And the men who had not died were stricken with hemorrhoids. And the cry of the city went up to the heavens.

¹⁰ so that they may offer sacrifices of sweet odor to the God of Heaven, and pray for the life of the king and of his sons.

⁹ And Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as Jehovah spoke to them. And Jehovah lifted the face of Job. ¹⁰ And when he prayed for his friends, Jehovah turned the captivity of Job; and Jehovah added to Job all which had been his, to double.

⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is a hateful thing to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

²⁹ Jehovah is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

¹¹ So says Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and the One who formed him, Do you ask Me of the things to come? Do you give command to Me about My sons, and about the work of My hands?

⁷ Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

²² And all things, whatever you may ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

²⁴ And also all the prophets, from Samuel and those following after, as many as spoke, also before announced these days.

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and by petition with thanksgivings, let your requests be made known to God;

²⁵ Brothers, pray concerning us.

² And Sarai said to Abram, See, now, Jehovah has kept me from bearing; go in now to my slave-girl; perhaps I may be built up from her. And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

² And Jacob's anger glowed against Rachel, and he said, Am I in God's place, who has kept back from you the fruit of the womb?

⁶ And even to vexation her rival provoked her, so as to make her tremble, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.

¹⁰ And they sent the ark of God around to Ekron. And it happened as the ark of God came into Ekron, the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought around the ark of the God of Israel to me to put me to death, even my people.
