⁸ And He said, Hagar, Sarai's slave-girl, where did you come from? And where do you go? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress, Sarai.

⁹ And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you?

¹⁰ And He said, What have you done? The voice of the blood of your brother cries to Me from the ground.

¹ And Sarai, Abram's wife, did not bear to him; and to her belonged a female slave, an Egyptian, and her name was Hagar.

⁴ And he went in to Hagar and she conceived; and she saw that she had conceived, and her mistress was despised in her eyes.

¹⁹ And now, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If Jehovah has moved you against me, let Him accept an offering. And if the sons of men, they are cursed before Jehovah; for they have driven me out today from joining myself with the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.

⁴ If the spirit of the ruler rises up against you, do not leave your place; for composure quiets great offenses.

¹⁷ Have you not done this to yourself by your forsaking Jehovah your God when He led you by the way? ¹⁸ And now what is for you toward the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? Or what for you toward Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?

⁵ Slaves, obey your lords according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ; ⁶ not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ doing the will of God from the soul, ⁷ serving as slaves with good will to the Lord, and not as to men, ⁸ each one knowing that whatever good thing he does, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether a slave or a freeman.

¹ Let as many as are slaves under a yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name and teaching of God may not be blasphemed. ² And those having believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve as slaves, because they are believing and beloved ones, those receiving of the good service in return. Teach and exhort these things.
