¹² that at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers of the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

¹⁸ On that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and your seed after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land of your sojourning, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession and I will be their God. ⁹ And God said to Abraham, You shall keep My covenant, you and your seed after you in their generations.

³ And Moses came and told all the words of Jehovah to the people, and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, We will do all the words which Jehovah has spoken. ⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of Jehovah. And he rose early in the morning and built an altar below the mountain, and twelve memorial pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel. ⁵ And he sent young men of the sons of Israel. And they offered up burnt offerings, and offered sacrifices of bullocks, peace offerings to Jehovah. ⁶ And Moses took half of the blood, and he put it in basins. And he sprinkled half of the blood on the altar. ⁷ And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the ears of the people. And they said We will do all that Jehovah has spoken, and we will hear. ⁸ And Moses took the blood and sprinkled on the people, and said, Behold, the blood of the covenant which Jehovah has cut with you concerning these words. ⁹ And Moses and Aaron went up with Nadab and Abihu, and seventy from the elders of Israel. ¹⁰ And they saw the God of Israel. And under His feet was as the work of a pavement of sapphire, and the same as the heavens for clearness. ¹¹ And He did not stretch out His hand to the nobles of the sons of Israel. And they saw God, and they ate and drank.

¹⁹ All the heave offerings of the holy things which the sons of Israel shall lift up to Jehovah, I have given to you and to your sons, and to your daughters with you, by a never ending statute, a covenant of salt, it shall be forever before Jehovah to you and to your seed with you.

³ Yea, Israel has been without a true God many days, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

³ But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of the fathers of Israel said to them, It is not for you and for us to build a house to our God. But we ourselves will together build to Jehovah the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.

³ I have cut a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to David My servant, ⁴ I will establish Your seed forever, and build up Your throne to all generations. Selah. ⁵ And the heavens shall thank Your wonders, O Jehovah; also Your faithfulness in the assembly of the saints. ⁶ For who in the sky shall be ranked with Jehovah, who among the sons of the mighty is like Jehovah? ⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the congregation of the saints, and to be adored by all around Him. ⁸ O Jehovah God of hosts, who is a strong Jehovah like You? And Your faithfulness is all around You. ⁹ You rule the pride of the sea; when its waves rise high, You still them. ¹⁰ You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm. ¹¹ The heavens are Yours, and the earth is Yours; the world and its fullness, You founded them. ¹² You have created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Your name. ¹³ You have a mighty arm; Your hand is strong, Your right hand is high. ¹⁴ Justice and righteousness are Your throne's foundation; mercy and truth go before Your face. ¹⁵ Blessed is the people knowing the joyful sound; O Jehovah, they shall walk in the light of Your face. ¹⁶ They shall rejoice in Your name always; and they are exalted in Your righteousness. ¹⁷ For You are the glory of their strength; and by Your favor You lift up our horn. ¹⁸ For Jehovah is our shield, yea, the Holy One of Israel our King.

⁶ So says Jehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Jehovah of Hosts: I am the First and I am the last; and there is no God except Me.

²⁰ Gather yourselves and come; draw near together, escaped ones of the nations; the ones who set up the wood of their carved image, and the ones who pray to a god who cannot save; they know nothing.

⁵ And foreigners shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of strangers shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

⁸ O Hope of Israel, its Savior in time of trouble, why should You be as a stranger in the land, and as a traveler who turns aside to lodge?

¹³ O Jehovah, the Hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed. Those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Jehovah, the Fountain of living waters.

³¹ Behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that I will cut a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, ³² not according to the covenant that I cut with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt (which covenant of Mine they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Jehovah). ³³ But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, declares Jehovah, I will put My law in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. ³⁴ And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

²⁰ So says Jehovah, If you can break My covenant of the day, and My covenant of the night, and there should not be day and night in their time, ²¹ then My covenant with My servant David may also be broken, that he should not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers. ²² As the host of the heavens cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so I will multiply the seed of My servant David, and the Levites who minister to Me. ²³ And the word of Jehovah was to Jeremiah, saying, ²⁴ Have you not observed what these people have spoken, saying, The two families that Jehovah has chosen, He has also rejected them? And they despise My people, no more to be a nation before them. ²⁵ So says Jehovah, If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of the heavens and earth, ²⁶ then I also will reject the seed of Jacob, and My servant David, not to take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity and have pity on them.

⁹ And My hand shall be against the prophets who see vanity, and who divine a lie. They shall not be in the council of My people, and they shall not be written in the writing of the house of Israel, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

²⁶ And I will cut a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant it shall be with them, And I will place them and multiply them, and I will put My sanctuary in their midst forever.

⁴ For the sons of Israel shall stay many days with no king and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod or teraphim.

⁷² to execute mercy with our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant,

²² You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is of the Jews.

¹⁶ And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must also lead those, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock, one Shepherd.

⁵ I am the Vine; you are the branches. He that remains in Me, and I in him, this one bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are not able to do anything.

²⁵ You are sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God appointed to our fathers, saying to Abraham, "Even in your Seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Gen. 22:18

¹⁵ and saying, Men, why do you do these things? We also are men of like feelings to you, announcing the gospel to you to turn you from these vanities to the living God, who "made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things in them," Ex. 20:11 ¹⁶ who in the generations which have passed allowed all the nations to go in their own ways,

²⁰ On account of this, then, I called for you, to see and to speak to you . For I have this chain around me for the sake of the hope of Israel.

²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, ²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without discernment, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, ³² who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also applaud those practicing them .

⁴ who are Israelites, whose are the adoption and the glory, and the covenants, and the Lawgiving, and the service, and the promises; ⁵ whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to flesh, He being God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

⁸ That is: Not the children of flesh are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted for a seed.

⁴ Then concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one. ⁵ For even if some are called gods, either in the heavens or on the earth; (even as there are many gods, and many lords); ⁶ but to us is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him.

¹⁹ What then do I say, that an idol is anything, or that an idolatrous sacrifice is anything? ²⁰ But the things the nations sacrifice, " they sacrifice to demons, and not to God." Deut. 32:17 But I do not want you to become sharers of demons;

¹⁶ But the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed (it does not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," which is Christ). Gen. 12:7, 13:15; 17:7, 8; 24:7 ¹⁷ And I say this, A covenant having been ratified before to Christ by God, the Law coming into being four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul the promise, so as to abolish it .

⁸ But then, indeed, not knowing God, you served as slaves to the ones not by nature being gods.

¹⁸ having been darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance which is in them because of the hardness of their heart,

⁵ because of the hope being laid up for you in Heaven, which you heard before in the Word of the truth of the gospel,

²¹ And you then being alienated and enemies in your mind by evil works, yet now He reconciled

²⁷ to whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

⁵ not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do, not knowing God;

¹³ But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who sleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, not having hope.

¹⁶ But may our Lord Himself, Jesus Christ, and our God and Father, He who loves and gives us everlasting encouragement and good hope by grace,

¹ Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ according to a command of God our Savior, even the Lord Jesus Christ, our Hope,

¹⁸ that through two unchangeable things, in which it was not possible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, those having fled to lay hold on the hope set before us,

³⁴ quenched the power of fire, escaped the mouths of the sword, acquired power from weakness, became strong in war, made armies of foreigners to yield.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, He according to His great mercy having regenerated us to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

²¹ the ones believing in God through Him, He raising Him from the dead, and giving glory to Him so that your faith and hope may be in God.

¹⁵ But sanctify" Isa. 8:12, 13 the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give an answer to everyone asking you a reason concerning the hope in you, with meekness and fear,

³ And everyone having this hope on Him purifies himself even as that One is pure.
