¹ And these are the last words of David, the saying of David the son of Jesse, and the saying of the man raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet singer of Israel:

¹ And Jacob called his sons and said, Gather yourselves and I will tell you what will happen to you in the days to come.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.

¹ And it happened many days after Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies all around, that Joshua was old, going on in days. ² And Joshua called for all Israel, for its elders, and for its heads, and for its judges, and for its officers, and said to them, I have become old, I have advanced in days; ³ and you have seen all that Jehovah your God has done to all these nations because of you, for Jehovah your God was He who was fighting for you. ⁴ Behold, I have caused to fall to you these nations that are left to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, as far as the Great Sea, toward the setting of the sun. ⁵ And Jehovah your God will thrust them out from before you, and will expel them from before you, and you shall possess their land, as Jehovah your God has spoken to you. ⁶ And you shall be very strong to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, so as not to turn aside from it to the right or to the left; ⁷ so as not to go in among these nations, these who are left with you; and that you do not make mention of the name of their gods, nor shall you swear, nor shall you serve them, nor shall you bow yourselves to them. ⁸ But you shall cling to Jehovah your God, as you have done until today. ⁹ And Jehovah has expelled from before you great and mighty nations. As for you no one has stood before you until today. ¹⁰ One man of you shall pursue a thousand; for Jehovah your God is He who is fighting for you, as He has spoken to you. ¹¹ And you shall be very watchful for yourselves to love Jehovah your God. ¹² But if you at all turn away and cleave to the remnant of the nations, of those who are left to you, and intermarry with them, and go in to them, and they to you, ¹³ know certainly that Jehovah your God shall not continue to expel these nations from before you, and they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land which Jehovah your God has given you. ¹⁴ And, behold! Today I am going in the way of all the earth, and you know with all your heart and with all your soul that there has not failed one thing of all the good things which Jehovah your God has spoken concerning you; all of it has come to you; there has not one thing failed of it. ¹⁵ And it shall be, as every good thing which Jehovah your God has spoken to you comes to you, so shall Jehovah bring on you every evil thing, until He destroys you from off this good land which Jehovah your God has given to you, ¹⁶ when you transgress the covenant of Jehovah your God which He commanded you, and when you have gone and served other gods, and have bowed yourselves to them, then the anger of Jehovah shall glow against you; and you shall perish quickly from off the good land which He has given to you.

¹⁰ They who strive with Jehovah will be smashed; He thunders in the heavens against him; Jehovah judges the ends of the earth, and gives strength to His king, and exalts the horn of His anointed.

¹² And he sent and brought him in. And he was ruddy, with beautiful eyes and good form. And Jehovah said, Rise up, anoint him, for this is he. ¹³ And Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon David from that day and onward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.

⁸ And now, so you shall say to My servant, to David, So says Jehovah of hosts, I have taken you from the resting place, from following the flock, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. ⁹ And I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth.

⁴ And he set before the ark of Jehovah ministers from the Levites, even to celebrate and to thank and to give praise to Jehovah the God of Israel: ⁵ Asaph the head, and Zechariah his second; Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom, and Jeiel, with instruments of harps, and with lyres; and Asaph was sounding with the cymbals.

⁷ Then on that day David first gave by the hand of Asaph and his brothers to give thanks to Jehovah.

⁹ Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; tell of all His marvelous works.

⁶ Yea, I have set My king on My holy mount on Zion.

²⁰ The prayers of David the son of Jesse have ended.

⁷⁰ He also chose His servant David, and took him from the sheepfolds; ⁷¹ He brought him in from the suckling ewes; He brought him to feed His people Jacob, and His inheritance, Israel.

²⁰ I have found My servant David; I have anointed him with My holy oil.

⁵ those chanting with the mouth of the harp; they invent instruments of song for themselves like David;

⁴² Even David himself said in the Book of Psalms, "The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand

⁴⁴ And He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you yet being with you, that must be fulfilled all the things having been written in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning Me.

¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising in your heart to the Lord, ²⁰ giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, even to God the Father,

¹⁶ Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom teaching and exhorting yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

¹³ Does anyone suffer ill among you? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him praise in song.

¹³ But I deem it right, so long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder, ¹⁴ knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is soon, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. ¹⁵ And I will also be diligent to cause you always to have memory of these things after my departure.
