¹ And I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God." ² And the first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and there was an evil and painful sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. ³ And the second poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood, like that of a dead person, and every living thing that was in the sea died. ⁴ And the third poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood. ⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying,
"You are righteous, the one who is and the one who was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things, ⁶ because they have poured out the blood of the saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; they are deserving!" ⁷ And I heard the altar saying,
"Yes, Lord God All-Powerful, true and righteous are your judgments." ⁸ And the fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was granted to it to burn up people with fire. ⁹ And people were burned up by the great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory. ¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened, and they began chewing their tongues because of the pain. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and because of their sores, and they did not repent of their deeds. ¹² And the sixth poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, in order that the way would be prepared for the kings from _⌊the east_⌋*. ¹³ And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet three unclean spirits like frogs. ¹⁴ For they are the spirits of demons performing signs that go out to the kings of the whole inhabited world, to gather them for the battle of the great day of God the All-Powerful. ¹⁵ (Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who is on the alert and who keeps his clothing, so that he does not walk around naked and they see his shamefulness!) ¹⁶ And he gathered them to the place called in Hebrew Armageddon. ¹⁷ And the seventh poured out his bowl on the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" ¹⁸ And there were lightnings and sounds and thunders, and there was a great earthquake, as has not happened from the time humanity has been on the earth—so great in this way was the earthquake. ¹⁹ And the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of his furious wrath.* ²⁰ And every island fled, and mountains were not found. ²¹ And large hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds,* came down from the sky upon people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, because the plague of it was very great.

³ So then, go and attack Amalek and utterly destroy all that is his! You must not spare him, but kill both man and woman, both child and nursing infant, both ox and sheep, both camel and donkey.'"

¹⁸ When Yahweh sent you on your way, he said to you: 'Go! You must utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and you must fight against them until you* have destroyed them.'

⁶ Pour out your anger on the nations that do not know you, and on the kingdoms that do not call on your name,

²⁵ Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not know you, and on the peoples that do not call on your name, for they have devoured Jacob, they have devoured and consumed him, and they have caused his settlement to be desolate.

⁵ And to the others he said in my hearing, "Go through the city behind him and kill! Your eyes shall not take pity, and you shall not have compassion. ⁶ You must kill _⌊totally_⌋* old man, young man and young woman, and little children and women, but _⌊concerning_⌋* every man _⌊with the mark on him_⌋* you must not approach; and from my sanctuary you must begin." And they began with the old men who _⌊were before_⌋* the house.* ⁷ And he said to them, "Defile the house* and fill the courtyards with the dead; go out! And they went out, and they killed in the city. ⁸ _⌊And then_⌋* _⌊as they were striking_⌋,* and I was left behind, I fell on my face, and I cried out, and I said, "Ah, Lord Yahweh! "Will you be destroying all of the remnant of Israel _⌊while you pour out your rage_⌋* on Jerusalem?"

² And he spoke* to the man clothed in linen and said, "Go _⌊in among the wheel area under the cherubim_⌋* and fill the hollow of your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and toss them on the city." And he went right before my eyes.

⁸ "Therefore, wait for me"—a declaration of Yahweh— "for the day of my rising as a witness. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble* kingdoms, to pour out my wrath upon them, all my burning anger. For by the fire of my anger all the land shall be consumed.

⁴¹ The Son of Man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all the causes of sin and those who do lawless deeds, ⁴² and throw them into the fiery furnace.* In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!

⁹ And another third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, ¹⁰ he himself also will drink of the wine of the anger of God that has been mixed full strength in the cup of his wrath, and will be tortured with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torture went up _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and those who worshiped the beast and his image did not have rest day and night, _⌊along with anyone who received_⌋* the mark of his name.

¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud, "Send out your sickle and reap, because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe!"

¹⁸ And another angel who had authority over the fire went out from the altar, and he called out with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Send out your sharp sickle and harvest the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are at their prime!"

¹ And I saw another great and marvelous sign in heaven: seven angels having seven plagues that are the last ones, because with them the wrath of God is completed.

⁵ And after these things I looked, and the temple, the tent of the testimony in heaven, was opened, ⁶ and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out from the temple, dressed in clean, bright linen garments, and girded with golden belts around their* chests. ⁷ And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, ⁸ and the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one was able to enter into the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

¹⁷ And the seventh poured out his bowl on the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!"

⁸ And Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron, "Take for yourselves full handfuls of soot from a smelting furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heavens before the eyes of Pharaoh. ⁹ And it will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt, and it will become on humans and on animals a skin sore sprouting blisters in all the land of Egypt." ¹⁰ And they took the soot of the smelting furnace, and they stood before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkled it toward the heavens, and it became skin sores sprouting blisters on humans and on animals. ¹¹ And the magicians were not able to stand before Moses because of the skin sores, for the skin sores were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians.

¹⁵ And Yahweh will turn away from you all the illness and all the harmful diseases of Egypt that you experienced; he will not lay them on you, but he will lay them on all of those who hate you.

²⁷ "Yahweh shall afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scurvy and with _⌊the skin rash that cannot be healed_⌋.*

⁶ Now the hand of Yahweh was heavy against the Ashdodites and he destroyed them and struck them with tumors,* both in Ashdod and its territories.

⁹ After they moved it, the hand of Yahweh was against the city, causing a very great confusion, and he struck the men of the city _⌊from the youngest to the oldest_⌋,* causing tumors* to break out on them.

¹⁵ and you yourself will be afflicted with great illness, with sickness in your bowels, until your bowels come out on account of the illness, day by day.'"

¹⁸ And after all this Yahweh afflicted him in his bowels with an illness for which there was no cure.

⁷ So* Satan* went out from _⌊Yahweh's presence_⌋,* and he inflicted Job with loathsome skin sores from the sole of his foot up to the crown of his head. ⁸ _⌊So_⌋* he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself, and he sat in the midst of the ashes.

²⁶ He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens and drove along the south wind by his strength.

⁵ Why do you want to be beaten again? You continue in rebellion. The whole of the head is sick, and the whole of the heart is faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot and up to the head there is no health in it; bruise and sore and bleeding wound have not been cleansed, and they have not been bound up and not softened with the oil.

¹⁷ the Lord will make the heads* of the daughters of Zion scabby, and Yahweh will lay their foreheads bare."

²⁴ And this shall happen: There will be a stench instead of perfume, and a rope instead of a sash, and baldness instead of a well-set hairdo, and a clothing wrap of sackcloth instead of a rich robe, branding instead of beauty.

²⁰ And a certain poor man _⌊named_⌋* Lazarus, covered with sores, lay at his gate, ²¹ and was longing to be filled with what fell from the table of the rich man. But even the dogs came and* licked his sores. ²² Now it happened that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels to _⌊Abraham's side_⌋.* And the rich man also died and was buried.

²³ And immediately an angel of the Lord struck him down _⌊because_⌋* he did not give the glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and* died.

⁷ And the first blew the trumpet, and there was hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was thrown to the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

¹⁵ And it was given to him to put breath into the image of the beast, in order that the image of the beast both spoke and caused that all those, unless they worshiped the image of the beast, should be killed. ¹⁶ And he causes all people, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, that they give them a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, ¹⁷ and that no one was able to buy or to sell except the one who had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of his name. ¹⁸ Here is wisdom: the one who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number,* and his number is six hundred sixty-six.*

¹⁶ And the one seated on the cloud swung his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and because of their sores, and they did not repent of their deeds.

²² Everything in whose nostrils was _⌊the breath of life_⌋,* among all that was on dry land, died.

¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh, "By this you will know that I am Yahweh. Look, I am about to strike with the staff that is in my hand the water that is in the Nile, and it will be changed to blood. ¹⁸ And the fish that are in the Nile will die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will be unable to drink water from the Nile." '" ¹⁹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Take your staff and stretch your hand out over the waters of Egypt and over their rivers, over their canals, and over their pools and over all of their reservoirs of water, so that they become blood,' and blood will be in all the land of Egypt and in vessels of wood and of stone." ²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as Yahweh had commanded, and he raised the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile before the eyes of Pharaoh and before the eyes of his servants, and all of the water that was in the Nile was changed to blood. ²¹ And the fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, and the Egyptians were not able to drink water from the Nile, and the blood was in all the land of Egypt.

⁴⁴ when he turned their rivers* to blood so they could not drink from their streams.

²⁹ He turned their waters into blood and it killed their fish.

³⁸ And I will judge you with the judgment of women committing adultery and shedding blood, and I will give you the blood of rage and jealousy.

⁸ And the second angel blew the trumpet, and something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood, ⁹ and a third of the creatures in the sea—the ones which had life—died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

² and holding in his hand a little scroll that was opened. And he put his right foot on the sea and his* left on the land.

⁶ These have the authority to shut the sky, so that _⌊it does not rain_⌋* during the days of their prophecy. And they have authority over the waters, to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with every plague as often as they wish.

¹ And I saw coming up out of the sea a beast that had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns ten royal headbands,* and on its heads a blasphemous name.*

¹⁷ Thus says Yahweh, "By this you will know that I am Yahweh. ⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, over the canals, and over the pools, and bring up the frogs on the land of Egypt.'"

² Why was there no man when I came, no one who answered when I called? _⌊Do I lack the strength to save_⌋?* Or is there no power in me to deliver? Look! by my rebuke I dry up the sea; I _⌊make_⌋* the rivers a desert; their fish stink because there is no water, and they* die because of thirst.

⁸ And I will fill its mountains with its slain; your hills and your valleys and all of your watercourses, the slain by the sword will fall in them.

¹⁵ Although he may flourish among reeds,* the east wind will come, a wind of Yahweh rising from the desert; his fountain will dry up, his spring will be parched. It will plunder his treasury,* every object of desire.

¹⁰ And the third angel blew the trumpet, and a great star burning like a torch fell from heaven, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. ¹¹ And the name of the star was called Wormwood, and a third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.

⁷ saying with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship the one who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and the springs of water!"

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters saying,
"You are righteous, the one who is and the one who was, the Holy One, because you have judged these things,

²⁵ Far be it from you to do such a thing as this, to kill the righteous with the wicked, that* the righteous would be as the wicked! Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do justice?"

⁴ Yahweh is righteous. He has cut the ropes* of the wicked.

¹⁷ Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and loyal in all his works.

¹⁸ Yahweh is righteous; I have rebelled against _⌊his word_⌋.* Please hear, all the nations, And see my pain; My young women* and young men went into captivity.

¹⁴ So Yahweh has kept watch over the* calamity, and now he has brought it upon us. Indeed, Yahweh our God is righteous concerning all his works* that he has done, but we have not listened to his voice.

²⁵ Righteous Father, although the world does not know you, yet I have known you, and these men have come to know that you sent me.

⁵ But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart, you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

⁵ But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? God, who inflicts wrath, is not unjust, is he? (I am speaking according to a human perspective.)

⁵ a proof of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, on behalf of which also you are suffering, ⁶ since it is righteous in the sight of God to pay back those who are afflicting you with affliction,

⁴ John, to the seven churches in Asia:* grace to you and peace from the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, the one who is and the one who was and the one who is coming, the All-Powerful.

⁸ And the four living creatures, _⌊each one_⌋* of them, had six wings apiece, full of eyes around and inside, and they do not have rest day and night, saying,
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God All-Powerful,* the one who was and the one who is and the one who is coming!"

¹⁷ saying,
"We give thanks to you, Lord God All-Powerful, the one who is and the one who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

³ And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
"Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God All-Powerful; righteous and true are your ways, King of the ages!* ⁴ Who would never fear, Lord, and glorify your name? For only you are holy, because all the nations* will come and worship before you, because your righteous deeds have been revealed."

⁴ And the third poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood.

⁷ And I heard the altar saying,
"Yes, Lord God All-Powerful, true and righteous are your judgments."

² because his judgments are true and righteous, because he has passed judgment on the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his slaves _⌊shed by_⌋* her hand!"

⁴² I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh with the blood of the slain, and captives* from the heads* of the leaders of the enemy.' ⁴³ Call for songs of joy, O nations, concerning his people,* for the blood of his servants he will avenge, _⌊and he will take reprisals against his foes_⌋,* and he will make atonement for his land, his people."

⁴ Also, for the blood of the innocent that he had shed—and he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood—Yahweh was not willing to forgive.

²⁶ And I will feed your oppressors their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their blood as with wine. Then* all flesh shall know that I am Yahweh, your savior and redeemer, the strong one of Jacob."

²² Thus says your Lord, Yahweh, and your God pleads the cause of his people: "Look! I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering. You shall not _⌊continue_⌋* to drink the goblet, the cup of my wrath, any longer. ²³ And I will put it in the hand of your tormenters, who have said to _⌊you_⌋,* 'Bow down that* we may _⌊pass_⌋* over you!' And you have _⌊made_⌋* your back like the ground, and like the street for those who _⌊pass_⌋* over you."

³⁰ "For _⌊in vain_⌋* I have struck your children. They accepted no discipline. Your sword devoured your prophets, like a ravening* lion.

¹¹ Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and to all the people, _⌊saying_⌋,* "_⌊This man deserves the death sentence_⌋,* because he has prophesied against this city as that which you have heard with your ears."

¹⁶ Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets, "_⌊This man does not deserve_⌋* a sentence of death, for in the name of Yahweh our God, he has spoken to us."

¹³ Because of the sins of her prophets, the guilt of her priests, who shed blood in her midst, of righteous people.

² For by what judgment you judge, you will be judged, and by what measure you measure out, it will be measured out to you.

³⁵ And the tenant farmers seized his slaves, one of whom they beat, and one of whom they killed, and one of whom they stoned. ³⁶ Again, he sent other slaves, more than the first ones, and they did the same thing to them. ³⁷ So finally he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' ³⁸ But when* the tenant farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance!' ³⁹ And they seized him and* threw him* out of the vineyard and killed him.* ⁴⁰ Now when the master of the vineyard arrives, what will he do to those tenant farmers?" ⁴¹ They said to him, "He will destroy those evil men completely and lease the vineyard to other tenant farmers who will give him the fruits in their season."

³⁰ and you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in the blood of the prophets!' ³¹ Thus you testify against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets! ³² And you—fill up the measure of your fathers! ³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How will you escape from the condemnation to hell? ³⁴ For this reason, behold, I am sending to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and will pursue from town to town, ³⁵ so that upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on the earth from the blood of righteous Abel up to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation! ³⁷ "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How many times I wanted to gather your children together _⌊the way_⌋* a hen gathers her young together under her* wings, and you were not willing!

⁴⁹ For this reason also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,' ⁵⁰ so that the blood of all the prophets that has been shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation,

⁴⁸ But the one who did not know and did things deserving blows _⌊will be given a light beating_⌋.* And from everyone to whom much has been given, much will be demanded, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will ask him for even more.

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

¹⁰ and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "_⌊How long_⌋*, holy and true Lord, will you not judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?" ¹¹ And to each one of them a white robe was given, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a short time, until the number of their fellow slaves and their brothers who were about to be killed as they had been were completed also.

¹⁸ And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to give their* reward to your slaves the prophets and to the saints and to the ones who fear your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth."

¹⁰ If anyone is going into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, by the sword he is to be killed.
Here is the patient endurance and the faith of the saints.

¹⁵ And it was given to him to put breath into the image of the beast, in order that the image of the beast both spoke and caused that all those, unless they worshiped the image of the beast, should be killed.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses to Jesus.
And _⌊I was greatly astonished when I saw her_⌋*. ⁷ And the angel said to me, "Why are you astonished? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that has the seven heads and the ten horns that carries her.

²⁰ Rejoice over her, heaven and the saints and the apostles and the prophets, because God has pronounced your judgment on her!"

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints and all those who had been slaughtered on the earth.

⁶ Then one of the seraphs flew to me, and in his hand was a hot coal he had taken from the altar with tongs.

⁷ Then the cherub stretched out his hand from among* the cherubim toward the fire that was among* the cherubim, and he lifted up and gave* it into the hollow of the hand of the man clothed with linen, and he took it, and he went out.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had,

³ And another angel who had a golden censer came and stood at the altar, and a large amount of incense was given to him, in order that he could offer the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar that is before the throne. ⁴ And the smoke of the incense went up before God with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel. ⁵ And the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire from the altar and threw it to the earth, and there were thunders and sounds and lightnings and an earthquake.

¹⁰ he himself also will drink of the wine of the anger of God that has been mixed full strength in the cup of his wrath, and will be tortured with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

²³ And the full moon will be ashamed and the sun will be ashamed, for Yahweh of hosts will rule on _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* and in Jerusalem, and before his elders in glory.

⁸ _⌊And when the sun rose_⌋,* God appointed a scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on Jonah's head and he grew faint. _⌊And he asked that he could die_⌋* and said, "My death is better than my life!"

⁶ But when* the sun rose it was scorched, and because it did not have enough root, it withered.

²⁵ "And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity from the noise of the sea and its surging,

²⁰ The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

¹² And I watched when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake took place, and the sun became black like sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood,

¹⁶ They will not be hungry any longer or be thirsty any longer, nor will the sun ever beat down on them, nor any heat,*

¹² And the fourth angel blew the trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened, and the day did not shine with respect to a third of it, and the night likewise.

² And he opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke went up from the shaft like smoke from a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the shaft.

¹⁷ And in this way I saw the horses in the vision, and those seated on them, who had fiery red and hyacinth-colored and sulphurous yellow breastplates, and the heads of the horses were like the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire and smoke and sulphur. ¹⁸ By these three plagues a third of humanity was killed—by the fire and the smoke and the sulphur that came out of their mouths.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to Achan, "My son, please, give glory to Yahweh the God of Israel, and give him a doxology in court.* Tell me, please, what you have done; do not hide it from me."

³³ While he was still speaking with them, suddenly the messenger was coming down to him, and he said, "Look this trouble is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?"

²² And in the time of his distress, King Ahaz continued to act unfaithfully against Yahweh.

⁵ Why do you want to be beaten again? You continue in rebellion. The whole of the head is sick, and the whole of the heart is faint.

²¹ And it* will pass through it* distressed and hungry, and this shall happen: when it is hungry, it will be enraged, and it will curse its king and its gods,* and it will face upwar

³ O Yahweh, do not your eyes look for honesty? You have struck them, but they felt no pain, you have destroyed them, they refused to take discipline. They have hardened their faces more than rock, they have refused to turn back.

²⁹ The bellows* are burned up, lead is consumed by fire. _⌊In vain_⌋* _⌊he keeps on refining_⌋,* but the wicked are not torn apart. ³⁰ _⌊They are called_⌋* rejected silver, For Yahweh has rejected them."

⁶ _⌊And then_⌋,* _⌊after a long time_⌋,* then Yahweh said to me, "Stand up, go to the Euphrates and take from there the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there."

¹³ In your uncleanness is obscene conduct, because I cleansed you, but you were not clean from your uncleanness; you will not be clean again until _⌊I fully vent my rage_⌋* on you.

²² "But you his _⌊successor_⌋,* Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart _⌊even though_⌋* you knew all this. ²³ And now you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven, and the vessels of his temple you have brought in before you, and you and your lords,* your wives and your concubines, have been drinking wine from* them, and you have praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone* that do not see and do not hear and do not know, but the God _⌊who holds your life in his hand_⌋* and all of your ways _⌊come from him_⌋,* you have not honored.

⁶ "And I* in turn gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities and lack of bread in all your places. Yet you did not return to me," is the declaration of Yahweh. ⁷ "And I also withheld the rain from you when there were still three months to the harvest. And I would send rain on one city and send no rain on another city. One tract of land will be rained on, and the tract of land _⌊on which it does not rain_⌋* will dry up. ⁸ So two or three cities wandered to one city to drink water and they were not satisfied, yet you did not return to me," is the declaration of Yahweh. ⁹ "I struck you with blight and with mildew. Frequently the cutting locust devoured your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees, yet you did not return to me," is the declaration of Yahweh. ¹⁰ "I sent among you a plague in the manner of Egypt; I killed your young men with the sword, along with the captivity of your horses. And I made the stench of your camps go up into your nostrils, yet you did not return to me," is the declaration of Yahweh. ¹¹ "I overthrew some of you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were as a stick snatched from the fire, and yet you did not return to me," is the declaration of Yahweh. ¹² "Therefore, thus I will do to you, O Israel. Because I will do this to you, O Israel, prepare to meet your God!

³ No, I tell you, but unless you repent you will all perish as well!

⁵ No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will all perish as well!"

²¹ I am afraid lest when I* come again my God will humiliate me _⌊in your presence_⌋*, and I will grieve over many of those who sinned previously and have not repented because of their impurity and sexual immorality and licentiousness that they have practiced.

²¹ And I have given her time in order to repent, and she did not want to repent from her sexual immorality.

²⁰ And the rest of humanity who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, _⌊in order not to worship_⌋* the demons and the gold and silver and bronze and stone and wooden idols, which are able neither to see nor to hear nor to walk,

¹³ And at that hour a great earthquake took place, and a tenth of the city collapsed, and seven thousand _⌊people_⌋* were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹⁰ And the fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened, and they began chewing their tongues because of the pain. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pain and because of their sores, and they did not repent of their deeds.

²¹ And large hailstones, weighing about a hundred pounds,* came down from the sky upon people, and the people blasphemed God because of the plague of hail, because the plague of it was very great.

²¹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the heavens so that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt and so that a person can feel darkness." ²² And Moses stretched out his hand toward the heavens, and there was darkness of night in all the land of Egypt for three days. ²³ No one could see his brother, and _⌊because of it no one could move from where they were_⌋* for three days, but there was light for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* in their dwellings.

⁴⁹ He sent against them his fierce anger, rage and indignation and trouble, a band of _⌊destroying_⌋* angels.

²¹ And it* will pass through it* distressed and hungry, and this shall happen: when it is hungry, it will be enraged, and it will curse its king and its gods,* and it will face upwar ²² or look to the earth. But look! Distress and darkness, the gloom of affliction! And it will be thrust into darkness!

¹² But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!"

⁴² and throw them into the fiery furnace.* In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!

⁵⁰ and throw them into the fiery furnace.* In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Tie him up _⌊hand and foot_⌋* and* throw him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!'

⁵¹ and will cut him in two and assign his place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!

²⁸ In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves thrown outside!

¹⁷ Honor all people, love the community of believers, fear God, honor the king.*

² And leave out the courtyard outside of the temple, and do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will trample the holy city for forty two months.

⁸ And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which is called symbolically Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

¹⁰ And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them, and will celebrate and will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who live on the earth.

² And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority. ³ And one of its heads appeared as though slaughtered to death, and its _⌊fatal wound_⌋* had been healed. And the whole earth was astonished and followed after the beast. ⁴ And they worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to make war with him?

⁹ Here is the mind that has wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains _⌊on which the woman sits_⌋* and they are seven kings.

¹⁷ For God put into their hearts to carry out his purpose and to make _⌊a unanimous decision_⌋* and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.

² And he cried out with a powerful voice, saying,
"Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and it has become a dwelling place of demons and a haunt of every unclean spirit and a haunt of every unclean bird and a haunt of every unclean and detested animal.

¹¹ And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo any more— ¹² cargo of gold and silver and precious stones and pearls and fine linen and purple cloth and silk and scarlet cloth and all kinds of scented wood and all kinds of ivory goods and all kinds of goods of precious wood and bronze and iron and marble ¹³ and cinnamon and amomum* and incense and ointment and frankincense and wine and olive oil and fine wheat flour and wheat and domesticated animals and sheep and horses and carriages and _⌊slaves_⌋* and human lives. ¹⁴ "And _⌊the fruit your soul desires_⌋* has departed from you, and all the luxury and the splendor has perished from you, and they will never find them any more." ¹⁵ The merchants of these things, who became rich from them, will stand _⌊far off_⌋*, weeping and mourning because of the fear of her torment, ¹⁶ saying,
"Woe, woe, the great city, dressed in fine linen and purple cloth and scarlet cloth, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, ¹⁷ because in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!"
And every shipmaster and _⌊every seafarer_⌋* and sailors and all those who labor on the sea stood _⌊far off_⌋* ¹⁸ and began to cry out when they* saw the smoke of her burning, saying, "Who is like the great city?" ¹⁹ And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying,
"Woe, woe, the great city, in which all those who had ships on the sea became rich from her prosperity, because in one hour she has been laid waste!"

²¹ And one powerful angel picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,
"In this way Babylon the great city will be thrown down with violence, and will never be found again!

²³ And the light of a lamp will never shine in you again! And the sound of a bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again! For your merchants were the most important people of the earth, because with your sorcery they deceived all the nations.

²³ "Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia: 'Yahweh the God of heaven has given to me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has appointed me to build a house for him at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever is among you from all his people, may Yahweh his God go up with him.'"

² "Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: Yahweh, the God of the heavens, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. And he himself has appointed me to build a house for him in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

¹¹ And this is the answer they returned to us: 'We are servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are building the house that was built formerly many years ago, which a great king of Israel had built and finished. ¹² But because our ancestors* angered the God of heaven, he gave them into the hand of the Chaldean King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. He destroyed this house and carried away the people to Babylonia.

¹⁰ that they may offer incense offerings to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his children.

¹² "Artaxerxes, the king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of the heavens. Peace. And now

²¹ "I, even I, King Artaxerxes, issue forth a decree to all the treasurers who are in the province Beyond the River. Whatever the priest Ezra, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, may ask of you, let it be done with diligence,

²³ All that is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done with diligence for the house of the God of heaven, otherwise wrath will come on the kingdom of the king and his sons.

⁴ When I heard these words, I sat and wept and mourned for days, and I was fasting and praying before the God of the heavens.

⁴ Then the king said to me, "What is your request?" So I prayed to the God of the heavens.

²⁶ Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his loyal love endures forever.

¹⁸ and told them to seek mercy _⌊from the God of heaven_⌋* concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions, along with the remainder of the wise men of Babylon, would not be killed. ¹⁹ Then in a vision of the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel; then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

⁴⁴ And _⌊in the day of those kings_⌋,* the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will _⌊never_⌋* be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left for another nation,* and it will bring an end to all these kingdoms, but it will stand _⌊forever_⌋.*

⁹ And he said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."

¹³ But evil people and imposters will progress to the worse, deceiving and being deceived.

² And the first went and poured out his bowl on the earth, and there was an evil and painful sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.

⁹ And people were burned up by the great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent to give him glory.

⁷ therefore look! The Lord is bringing up the waters of the great and mighty river against them, the king of Assyria and all his glory.
And he will rise above all his channels, and he will flow over all his banks.

¹⁵ And Yahweh will divide* the tongue* of the sea of Egypt,* and he will wave his hand over the river* with his scorching wind; and he will strike it into seven streams, and he will _⌊make it passable by foot_⌋.*

² Who has roused salvation from the east, summoned* him to his foot, gives nations _⌊in his presence_⌋,* and subjugates kings? He makes* them like the dust with his sword, like scattered stubble with his bow. ³ He pursues them and passes on in peace; he does not enter the path with his feet.

²⁵ I stirred up one from the north, and he has come from the rising of the sun.
He shall call on my name,
and he shall come on officials as on mortar, and as the _⌊potter_⌋* treads clay.

¹⁵ I will cause mountains and hills to dry up, and I will cause all their herbage to wither; and I will make rivers like islands, and I will cause pools to dry up.

²⁷ who says to the deep, 'Dry up! And I will cause your rivers to dry up';

¹¹ who calls a bird of prey from the east, the man of his* plan from a country from afar. Indeed I have spoken; indeed I will bring it to being. I have formed it; indeed I will do it.

³⁸ A drought will come against her waters, and they will dry up, for it is a land of images, and because of the frightful objects, they act like madmen. ³⁹ _⌊Therefore_⌋* desert creatures will live there* with jackals, and daughters of ostriches* will inhabit her. And she will not be inhabited again _⌊forever_⌋,* and she will not be dwelt in _⌊for all generations_⌋.* ⁴⁰ As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "no one will live there, and the son of humankind will not dwell as an alien in her.

³⁶ _⌊Therefore_⌋* thus says Yahweh,
"Look, I am going to contend your case, and I will avenge your vengeance, and I will cause her sea to dry up, and I will cause her fountain to dry up.

¹ And the word of Yahweh _⌊came_⌋* to me, _⌊saying_⌋,* ² "Son of man,* set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the head* leader of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. ³ And you must say, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "Look! I am against you, Gog, the head* leader of Meshach and Tubal, ⁴ and I will turn you around, and I will place* hooks in your cheeks, and I will bring you out and all of your horses and horsemen _⌊fully armed_⌋,* all of them, a great crowd, holding a shield,* and small shield, and holding* swords, all of them. ⁵ Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them, with a small shield and helmet. ⁶ Gomer and all of its troops, Beth Togarmah, the remote areas of the north, and with all of its troops and many peoples with them. ⁷ Be ready, and prepare _⌊yourselves_⌋,* you and all of your assembly,* the assembling* around you, and you must be* for them as a guard. ⁸ After many days you will be mustered; _⌊in the last years_⌋* you will come to a restored land from the sword, gathered from many peoples on the mountains of Israel which were as _⌊permanent ruins_⌋* but from peoples it was brought out, and they will dwell _⌊in safety_⌋,* all of them. ⁹ And you will advance like a storm; you will come, and you will be like a cloud _⌊covering_⌋* the land, and all of your troops and many nations along with you." ¹⁰ " 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "_⌊And then_⌋* on that day, things* will come up on* your mind, and you will devise evil plans. ¹¹ And you will say, 'I will go up against a land of open country; I will come* to the people being at rest _⌊in safety_⌋,* all of them dwelling without a wall* and crossbars* and _⌊without doors_⌋,* ¹² to* loot loot,* and to plunder* plunder, _⌊to assail_⌋* inhabited ruins and a people gathered together from various peoples and who are acquiring livestock and goods and dwelling at the center of the world. ¹³ Sheba and Dedan and traders of Tarshish and all its strong lions,* they will ask you, 'To* loot loot* are you coming? To plunder* plunder have you summoned your assembly, to take away silver and gold, to take livestock and goods, to loot great amounts* of loot?" ' ¹⁴ "Therefore prophesy, son of man,* and you must say to Gog, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "Will you not realize* on that day when my people Israel are dwelling _⌊in safety_⌋,* ¹⁵ and so you will come from your place, from the remote areas of the north, you and many people with you, _⌊horsemen_⌋* all of them, a great crowd and a vast army, ¹⁶ and you will advance against my people Israel like a cloud _⌊covering_⌋* the land; it will be* in the last days, and I will bring you against my land, so that the nations know me, _⌊when I show myself holy through you_⌋ before their eyes, O Gog!" ' ¹⁷ "Thus says the Lord Yahweh, 'Are you he of whom I spoke in former days by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel who were prophesying in those days for years that I would bring you against them? ¹⁸ And so then in that day, on the day of the coming of God against the land of Israel,' _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, 'my rage will come up in my anger. ¹⁹ And in my passion, in the fire of my wrath, I spoke* that _⌊certainly_⌋* on that day a great earthquake will be on the land of Israel. ²⁰ And the fish of the sea and the birds* of the heaven* and the animals* of the field and all of the creeping things that creep on the earth and all of the humans* who are on the surface of the earth will shake _⌊at my presence_⌋;* and the mountains will be demolished, and the steep mountain sides will fall, and every wall on* the earth will fall. ²¹ And I will call against him* in all of my mountains a sword,' _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, 'And the sword of each person will be against his brother. ²² And I will execute justice with* him with a plague and with blood and _⌊torrents of rain_⌋,* and hailstones; fire and sulfur I will cause to fall on him and on his troops and on many peoples who are with him. ²³ And so I will exalt myself, and I will show myself holy, and I will make myself known before the eyes of many nations, and they will know that I am Yahweh.'"

⁴³ And he will rule over the treasures of gold and the silver and over all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Cushites will follow in his footsteps. ⁴⁴ But reports will terrify him from the east and from the north, and he will go out with great fury to destroy and to exterminate many. ⁴⁵ And then he will pitch the tents of his palace between the sea and _⌊the beautiful holy mountain_⌋,* and he will come to his end, and there is no one* helping him."

² And I saw another angel ascending _⌊from the east_⌋*, holding the seal of the living God, and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels _⌊who were given permission_⌋* to damage the earth and the sea,

¹⁴ saying to the sixth angel, the one who had the trumpet, "Release the four angels who have been bound at the great river Euphrates!"

¹⁴ The second woe has passed. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly!

¹⁵ And he said to me, "The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and crowds and nations and languages.

² And if you are refusing to release, look, I am going to plague all of your territory with frogs. ³ And the Nile will swarm with frogs, and they will go up and come into your house and into your _⌊bedroom_⌋* and onto your bed and into the house of your servants and among your people and into your ovens and into your kneading troughs. ⁴ And the frogs will go up against you and against your people and against all of your servants.'" ⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Say to Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, over the canals, and over the pools, and bring up the frogs on the land of Egypt.'" ⁶ And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs went up and covered the land of Egypt. ⁷ And the magicians did likewise with their secret arts, and they brought up frogs over the land of Egypt.

⁴⁵ He sent among them flies that devoured them and frogs that destroyed them.

³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs, even in the chambers of their kings.

⁹ whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with every unrighteous deception against those who are perishing, in place of which they did not accept the love of the truth, so that they would be saved. ¹¹ And because of this, God sends them _⌊a powerful delusion_⌋* so that they will believe the lie,

¹ Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, ² by the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, ³ who forbid marrying and insist on abstaining from foods that God created for sharing in with thankfulness by those who believe and who know the truth,

¹ But know this, that in the last days difficult times will come, ² for people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ hardhearted, irreconcilable, slanderous, without self-control, savage, with no interest for what is good, ⁴ traitors, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God, ⁵ maintaining a form of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid these people. ⁶ For from these are those who slip into houses and captivate foolish women loaded down with sins, led by various kinds of desires,

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you also, who will bring in _⌊destructive heresies_⌋*, even denying the Master who bought them, thus* bringing on themselves swift destruction. ² And many will follow their licentious ways, because of whom the way of truth will be reviled. ³ And in greediness they will exploit you with false words, whose condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

¹ Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. ² By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ* has come in the flesh is from God, ³ and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

³ And another sign appeared in heaven, and behold, a great fiery red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven royal headbands.* ⁴ And his tail swept away a third of the stars from heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, in order that whenever she gave birth to her child he could devour it.

⁹ And the great dragon was thrown down, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying,
"Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, because the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. ¹¹ And they conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives until death. ¹² Because of this, rejoice, you heavens, and those who live in them! Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great anger, because he* knows that he has little time!" ¹³ And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

¹ And I saw coming up out of the sea a beast that had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns ten royal headbands,* and on its heads a blasphemous name.* ² And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority. ³ And one of its heads appeared as though slaughtered to death, and its _⌊fatal wound_⌋* had been healed. And the whole earth was astonished and followed after the beast. ⁴ And they worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to make war with him? ⁵ And a mouth was given to him speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority to act was given to him for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth for blasphemies toward God, to blaspheme his name and his dwelling, those who live in heaven. ⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and people and language and nation.

¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up from the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he was speaking like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast on behalf of him, and he causes the earth and those who live in it to worship the first beast _⌊whose fatal wound had been healed_⌋*. ¹³ And he performs great signs, so that he even causes fire from heaven to come down to the earth before people. ¹⁴ And he deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs that it has been granted to him to perform on behalf of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword and yet lived.

¹⁴ For they are the spirits of demons performing signs that go out to the kings of the whole inhabited world, to gather them for the battle of the great day of God the All-Powerful.

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.

¹⁰ And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet also are, and they will be tormented day and night _⌊forever and ever_⌋*.

¹ "If a prophet stands up in your midst or a dreamer of dreams* and he gives to you a sign or wonder, ² and the sign or* the wonder comes about that he spoke* to you, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'Let us go after other gods (those whom you have not known), and let us serve them,'

⁶ Then the king of Israel assembled the prophets, about four hundred men, and he said to them, "Shall I go against Ramoth-Gilead for the battle, or should I refrain?" Then they said, "Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king."

¹⁰ The king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were each sitting on his throne, dressed in their robes, at the threshing floor at the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them. ¹¹ Zedekiah son of Kenaanah made horns of iron for himself and said, "Thus says Yahweh: 'With these you shall gore the Arameans until finishing them.'"

¹⁹ And he* said, "Therefore, hear the word of Yahweh. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne with all the hosts of heaven standing beside him from his right hand and from his left hand. ²⁰ And Yahweh said, 'Who will entice Ahab so that he will go up and fall at Ramoth-Gilead?' Then _⌊this one was saying one thing and the other one was saying another_⌋.* ²¹ Then a spirit came out and stood before Yahweh and said, 'I will entice him,' and Yahweh said to him, 'How?' ²² He said, 'I will go out and I will be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And he* said, 'You shall entice and succeed, go out and do so.' ²³ So then, see that Yahweh has placed a false spirit in the mouth of all of these your prophets, and Yahweh has spoken disaster concerning you."

¹⁸ Then Micaiah said, "Therefore hear the word of Yahweh: I saw Yahweh sitting upon his throne with all the host of heaven standing on his right and on his left. ¹⁹ And Yahweh said, 'Who will entice Ahab the king of Israel that he would go up and fall at Ramoth-Gilead?' And one said this, and another said that. ²⁰ Then a spirit came forth and stood before Yahweh and said, 'I will entice him.' Then Yahweh said to him, 'By what means?' ²¹ Then he said, 'I will go forth and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.' And he said, 'You will entice him and will also succeed. Go out and do so.' ²² So now, behold, Yahweh has put a spirit of deception into the mouths of these your prophets. Yahweh has spoken disaster against you."

¹ Come near, nations, to hear; and peoples, listen attentively! Let the earth hear, and that which fills it; the world and all its offspring. ² For the anger of Yahweh is against all the nations, and his wrath is against all their armies; he has put them under a ban, he has given them up for slaughter. ³ And their slain shall be cast out; as for* their corpses, their stench shall go up. And the mountains shall melt with* their blood, ⁴ and all the host of heaven shall rot. And the skies shall roll up like a scroll, and all their host shall wither like the withering of a leaf from a vine, or* like the withering from a fig tree. ⁵ When my sword is drenched in the heavens,
look! It will descend upon Edom, and upon the people of my ban, for judgment. ⁶ _⌊Yahweh has a sword_⌋;*
it is full of blood. It is covered with* fat, with* the blood of lambs and goats, with* the fat of the kidneys of rams, for _⌊Yahweh has a sacrifice_⌋* in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom. ⁷ And wild oxen shall go down with them, and steers with strong bulls. And their land shall be drenched with* blood, and their soil shall be fattened with* fat. ⁸ For _⌊Yahweh has a day of vengeance_⌋,* a year of retribution for the strife of Zion.

¹ Who is this, coming from Edom, from Bozrah in bright red garments? Who is this honored in his garment, lying down in his great strength? "It is I, speaking in justice, _⌊mighty_⌋* to save!" ² Why are your garments* red, and your garments like he who treads in the winepress? ³ "I have trodden the winepress alone, and there was no man from the peoples with me. And I trod them in my anger, and I trampled them in my wrath, and spattered their juice on my garments, and stained all my clothing, ⁴ for the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my blood-vengeance has come! ⁵ And I looked, but* there was no helper, and I was appalled, but* there was no one who sustains, so* my arm came to assist me, and my wrath _⌊was what_⌋* sustained me. ⁶ And I trampled peoples in my anger, and I made them drunk in my wrath, and I brought their juice down to the earth."

⁹ And the prophet, if he is deceived and he speaks a word, I Yahweh, I have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

⁸ After many days you will be mustered; _⌊in the last years_⌋* you will come to a restored land from the sword, gathered from many peoples on the mountains of Israel which were as _⌊permanent ruins_⌋* but from peoples it was brought out, and they will dwell _⌊in safety_⌋,* all of them. ⁹ And you will advance like a storm; you will come, and you will be like a cloud _⌊covering_⌋* the land, and all of your troops and many nations along with you." ¹⁰ " 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "_⌊And then_⌋* on that day, things* will come up on* your mind, and you will devise evil plans. ¹¹ And you will say, 'I will go up against a land of open country; I will come* to the people being at rest _⌊in safety_⌋,* all of them dwelling without a wall* and crossbars* and _⌊without doors_⌋,* ¹² to* loot loot,* and to plunder* plunder, _⌊to assail_⌋* inhabited ruins and a people gathered together from various peoples and who are acquiring livestock and goods and dwelling at the center of the world.

¹¹ Hurry and come, all the nations, from all around, and gather yourselves there. Bring down your mighty warriors, O Yahweh! ¹² Let the nations be roused and let them come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations from all around. ¹³ Send forth the sickle, for the harvest is ripe! Go tread, for the winepress is full! The vats overflow, because their evil is great! ¹⁴ Commotion, commotion in the valley of decision! For the day of Yahweh is near in the valley of decision!

¹ Now it happened that in those days a decree went out from Caesar* Augustus to register all the empire.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father! That one was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand firm in the truth, because truth is not in him. Whenever he speaks the lie, he speaks from his own nature,* because he is a liar and the father _⌊of lies_⌋.*

⁸ But Elymas the magician (for his name is translated in this way) opposed them, attempting to turn the proconsul away from the faith. ⁹ But Saul (also called Paul), filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him ¹⁰ and* said, "O you who are full of all deceit and of all unscrupulousness, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness! Will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord!

⁸ First, I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being proclaimed in the whole world.

¹³ For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ And no wonder, for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light. ¹⁵ Therefore it is not a great thing if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

⁹ whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders,

¹ Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,

¹⁵ This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.

¹⁹ We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

¹⁰ Because you have kept the word of my patient endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole inhabited world, to put to the test those who live on the earth.

¹⁷ because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

⁹ And the great dragon was thrown down, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

³ And one of its heads appeared as though slaughtered to death, and its _⌊fatal wound_⌋* had been healed. And the whole earth was astonished and followed after the beast.

¹³ And he performs great signs, so that he even causes fire from heaven to come down to the earth before people. ¹⁴ And he deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs that it has been granted to him to perform on behalf of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword and yet lived.

¹⁶ And he gathered them to the place called in Hebrew Armageddon.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful."

⁸ and he will go out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to assemble them for battle, _⌊whose number_⌋* is like the sand of the sea.

²⁵ And Moses saw the people, that they were running wild* because Aaron had allowed them to run wild,* for a laughingstock among _⌊their enemies_⌋.*

³ Your nakedness shall be exposed; indeed, your shame shall become visible. I will take vengeance and I will not _⌊spare_⌋* a person.

³⁷ therefore, look! I am gathering all of your lovers _⌊whom you were pleased about_⌋,* and all of whom you loved in addition to all of whom you hated, and I will gather them against you from _⌊everywhere_⌋,* and I will uncover your nakedness to them, and they will see all of your nakedness.

³ Lest I strip her naked and expose her like the day when she was born; I will make her like the desert and turn her into parched land; I will kill her with thirst.

¹⁵ Woe to him who gives a drink to his neighbors, pouring out your wrath and also making them drunk in order to see their nakedness!

⁴² Therefore be on the alert, because you do not know what day your Lord is coming! ⁴³ But understand this: that if the master of the house had known what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.

¹³ Therefore be on the alert, because you do not know the day or the hour!

⁴¹ Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!"

³³ Watch out! Be alert, because you do not know when the time is! ³⁴ It is like a man away on a journey, who left his house and gave his slaves authority—to each one his work—and to the doorkeeper he gave orders that he should be on the alert. ³⁵ Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or early in the morning— ³⁶ lest he arrive suddenly and* find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you, I say to everyone: Be on the alert!"

³⁸ Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!"

³⁷ Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he returns! Truly I say to you that he will dress himself for service and have them recline at the table and will come by and* serve them. ³⁸ Even if he should come back in the second or in the third watch of the night and find them* like this, blessed are they! ³⁹ But understand this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. ⁴⁰ You also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not think he will come."* ⁴¹ And Peter said, "Lord, are you telling this parable for us, or also for everyone?" ⁴² And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful wise manager whom the master will put in charge over his servants to give them* their* food allowance at the right time? ⁴³ Blessed is that slave whom his master will find so doing when he* comes back.

³⁶ But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

³¹ Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you* with tears.

³ if indeed, even after we* have taken it off,* we will not be found naked.

² for you yourselves well know that the day of the Lord is coming in the same way as a thief in the night. ³ Whenever they say "Peace and security," then sudden destruction will overtake them like the birth pains of _⌊a pregnant woman_⌋*, and they will not possibly escape.

⁶ So then, we must not sleep like the rest, but must be on the alert and be self-controlled.

⁷ Now the end of all things draws near. Therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for your prayers.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will disappear with a rushing noise, and the celestial bodies will be destroyed by* being burned up, and the earth and the deeds done on it will be disclosed.

³ Therefore remember how you have received and heard, and observe it, and repent. If therefore you are not on the alert, I will come like a thief, and you will never know at what hour I will come against you. ⁴ But you have a few _⌊people_⌋* in Sardis who have not defiled their clothing, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy.

¹⁸ I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire, in order that you may become rich, and white clothing, in order that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and eye salve to smear on your eyes, in order that you may see.

⁷ _⌊I will draw out_⌋* Sisera, the commander of Jabin's army, with his chariots and troops, to the wadi* of Kishon, and I will give him into your hand.'"

¹⁹ "The kings came, they fought; then the kings of Canaan fought; at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo, they got no plunder in silver.

²⁹ In his days, Pharaoh Neco, king of Egypt, went up against the king of Assyria at the Euphrates River. King Josiah went to meet him, and he* killed him at Megiddo as soon as he saw him. ³⁰ So his servants drove him dead in a chariot from Megiddo, and they brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his tomb. Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in place of his father.

⁹ Proclaim this among the nations: _⌊Prepare for war_⌋!* Stir up the mighty warriors; let them approach and come up; let all the men of war approach. ¹⁰ Beat your cutting tools of iron into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weakling say, 'I am a mighty warrior!'

¹¹ On that day the wailing will be great in Jerusalem, like the wailing for Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

² I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, and they will loot the houses, and the women will be raped; half of the city will go into exile, but the remainder of the people will not be cut off from the city. ³ Then Yahweh will go forth and fight against those nations, like _⌊when he fights_⌋* on a day of battle.

² Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool called in Aramaic Bethzatha,* which has five porticoes.

¹³ So Pilate, when he* heard these words, brought Jesus outside and sat down on the judgment seat, in the place called The Stone Pavement (but Gabbatha in Aramaic).

¹⁷ and carrying for himself the cross, he went out to the place called The Place of a Skull (which is called Golgotha in Aramaic),

¹⁴ And when* we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Aramaic language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads!'

¹¹ They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, _⌊whose name_⌋* in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

Assemble for the great banquet of God, ¹⁸ in order that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of military tribunes, and the flesh of the powerful, and the flesh of horses and those seated on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!" ¹⁹ And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war with the one who is seated on the horse and with his army. ²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. ²¹ And the rest were killed by the sword of the one who is seated on the horse—the sword that comes out of his mouth—and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

⁷ And I heard the man who was clothed in linen who was above* the water of the stream,* and he raised his right hand and his left hand to heaven and he swore _⌊by the one who lives forever_⌋* that an appointed time, appointed times, and half an appointed time would pass when the shattering of _⌊the power of the holy people_⌋* _⌊would be completed_⌋;* then all these things will be accomplished. ⁸ Now I myself heard, but I did not understand, and I said, "My lord, what will be the outcome of these things?" ⁹ And he said, "Go, Daniel, for the words are secret and are sealed up until the time of the end. ¹⁰ Many will be purified and will be cleansed and will be refined, but the wicked will act wickedly _⌊and none of the wicked will understand_⌋,* but _⌊those who have insight_⌋* will understand. ¹¹ And from the time the regular burnt offering is removed and the abomination that causes desolation _⌊is set up_⌋* there will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. ¹² Happy is the one who is persevering, and attains to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. ¹³ But you, go on to the end and rest, and you will arise for your allotted inheritance at the end of the days."

³⁰ Then when he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, "It is completed,"* and bowing his* head, he gave up his* spirit.

² in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience,

¹² because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

⁶ and swore by the one who lives _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, who created heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, "There will be no more delay! ⁷ But in the days of the sound of the seventh angel, whenever he is about to blow the trumpet, then* the mystery of God is completed, as he announced to his own slaves the prophets."

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

¹⁹ And the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant appeared in his temple, and there were lightnings and sounds and thunders and an earthquake and large hail.*

¹⁷ And another angel came out of the temple that is in heaven; he also had a sharp sickle.

⁵ And after these things I looked, and the temple, the tent of the testimony in heaven, was opened, ⁶ and the seven angels who had the seven plagues came out from the temple, dressed in clean, bright linen garments, and girded with golden belts around their* chests.

¹ And I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."

¹ And I saw an angel descending from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. ² And he seized the dragon—the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan—and bound him for a thousand years, ³ and threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it above him, in order that he could not deceive the nations again until the thousand years are completed. After these things it is necessary for him to be released for a short time.

⁶ And he said to me, "It is done! I am* the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the one who is thirsty I will give water from the spring of the water of life freely.*

¹ "Now at that time, Michael, the great prince, will arise, _⌊the protector_⌋* over the sons of your people, and it will be a time of distress that has not been since your people _⌊have been_⌋* a nation until that time. And at that time your people will escape, _⌊everyone who is found_⌋* written in the scroll.*

²¹ For at that time there will be great tribulation, such as has not happened from the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will happen.

⁵ And from the throne came out lightnings and sounds and thunders, and seven torches of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God.

⁵ And the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire from the altar and threw it to the earth, and there were thunders and sounds and lightnings and an earthquake.

¹⁷ Rouse yourself! Rouse yourself! Stand up, Jerusalem, who have drunk from the hand of Yahweh the cup of his wrath; you have drunk the goblet, the cup of staggering; you have drained it out. ¹⁸ There is no one who guides her among* all the children she has borne, and there is no one who grasps her by the hand among* all the children she raised. ¹⁹ Two things here have happened to you—who will _⌊show sympathy_⌋* for you?— devastation and destruction, famine and sword—who will comfort you? ²⁰ Your children have fainted; they lie at the head of all the streets, like an antelope in* a snare, those who are full of the wrath of Yahweh, the rebuke of your God. ²¹ Therefore hear now this afflicted one and drunken one but* not from wine.

¹⁵ For thus said Yahweh, the God of Israel, to me, "Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and you must give it to all the nations to whom I am sending you to drink. ¹⁶ And they will drink, and they will stagger, and they will act like madmen because of the _⌊presence_⌋* of the sword that I am sending among them."

²⁶ and all the kings of the north, near and far, each one to his brother, and all the kingdoms of the world that are on the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach, he will drink after them.

³⁰ And the king answered and said, "Is this not the great Babylon which I have built as a royal palace by the strength of my own power, and for the glory of my own majesty?"

⁸ And another second angel followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who caused all the nations to drink from the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality." ⁹ And another third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, ¹⁰ he himself also will drink of the wine of the anger of God that has been mixed full strength in the cup of his wrath, and will be tortured with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

⁵ And on her forehead a name was written, a mystery: "Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the detestable things of the earth."

¹⁸ And the woman that you saw is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.

⁵ because her sins have reached up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.

¹⁰ standing _⌊far off_⌋* because of the fear of her torment, saying,
"Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon the powerful city, because in one hour your judgment has come!"

¹⁴ and against all the high mountains, and against all the lofty hills, ¹⁵ and against every kind of high tower, and against every kind of fortified wall, ¹⁶ and against all the ships of Tarshish, and against all the ships of desire. ¹⁷ And the haughtiness of the people shall be humbled, and the pride of everyone shall be brought low, and Yahweh alone will be exalted on that day.

²³ I looked at the earth, and behold, it was wasteland and emptiness, and to the heavens, and they were without their light. ²⁴ I looked at the mountains, and behold, they were quaking, and all of the hills were jolted to and fro. ²⁵ I looked and behold, there was no person, and all of the birds* of the sky had fled.

¹⁴ And the sky was split apart like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved from their place.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the one who was seated on it, _⌊from whose presence_⌋* earth and heaven fled, and a place was not found for them.

²³ And Moses stretched out his staff to the heavens, and Yahweh gave thunder* and hail, and fire went to the earth, and Yahweh caused hail to rain on the land of Egypt. ²⁴ And there was hail, and fire was flashing back and forth in the midst of the very severe hail, the like of which was not in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. ²⁵ And the hail struck in all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, from human to animal, and the hail struck all the vegetation of the field and smashed every tree of the field. ²⁶ Only in the land of Goshen, where the _⌊Israelites_⌋* were, there was no hail.

¹¹ And as they were fleeing from Israel, they were on the slope of Beth-horon, and Yahweh threw huge stones from the heavens on them as far as Azekah; and more died by the hail stones than those whom the _⌊Israelites_⌋* killed by the sword.

³⁰ And Yahweh will cause the majesty of his voice to be heard, and he will cause the descent of his arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and a rainstorm and stones* of hail.

¹¹ Say to those covering it with whitewash that it will fall; there will be _⌊a torrent of rain_⌋,* and I will give stones of hail; they will fall! * And a _⌊windstorm_⌋* will burst forth!

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: 'And so I will let burst forth a _⌊windstorm_⌋* in my rage, and _⌊there will be a torrent of rain_⌋* in my anger, and hailstones in my rage _⌊for complete destruction_⌋.*

²¹ And I will call against him* in all of my mountains a sword,' _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, 'And the sword of each person will be against his brother. ²² And I will execute justice with* him with a plague and with blood and _⌊torrents of rain_⌋,* and hailstones; fire and sulfur I will cause to fall on him and on his troops and on many peoples who are with him.
