For noble things I will speak, and upright things from the opening of my lips. ⁷ My mouth will utter truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. ⁸ All sayings of my mouth are in righteousness; none of them are twisted and crooked. ⁹ All of them are straight to him who understands, and upright to those who find knowledge. ¹⁰ Take my teaching and not silver; may you choose knowledge rather than choice gold. ¹¹ For wisdom is better than jewels, and all desires shall not compare with her. ¹² I, wisdom, live with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. ¹³ The fear of Yahweh is hatred of evil, pride, and arrogance and an evil way. ²⁰ Wisdom calls out in the streets, in the squares she raises her voice. ²¹ On a _⌊busy corner_⌋* she cries out, at the entrances of the gates in the city, she speaks her sayings:

¹ Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn her seven pillars. ² She has slaughtered her slaughtering, mixed her wine, and also set her table. ³ She has sent her servant girls,* she calls upon the wings of the high places of town,

¹ Listen to me, coastlands, and listen attentively, peoples from far away! Yahweh called me from the womb; from the _⌊body_⌋* of my mother he made my name known. ² And he _⌊made_⌋* my mouth like a sharp sword; he hid me in the shadow of his hand, and he _⌊made_⌋* me like an sharpened arrow; he hid me in his quiver. ³ And he said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will show my glory." ⁴ But* I myself said, "I have labored in* vain; I have used up my strength for nothing and vanity! Nevertheless, my justice is with Yahweh, and my reward is with my God." ⁵ And now Yahweh says, who formed me from the womb as a servant for him, to bring Jacob back to him, and that Israel might not* be gathered, for* I am honored in the eyes of Yahweh, and my God has become my strength. ⁶ And he says, "It is trivial _⌊for you to be_⌋* a servant for me,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel. I will give you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the end of the earth."

¹ "Ho! Everyone thirsty, come to the waters! And whoever has no money, come, buy and eat, and come, buy without money, wine and milk without price! ² Why do you weigh out money for what is not food, and your labor for _⌊what cannot satisfy_⌋?* Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and let your soul take pleasure in _⌊rich_⌋* food. ³ Extend your ear, and come to me! Listen so that* your soul may live, and I will _⌊make_⌋* an everlasting covenant with* you, the enduring proofs of _⌊the mercies shown to_⌋* David.

³ For this is the one who was spoken about by the prophet Isaiah, saying,
"The voice of one crying out in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'"*

¹⁷ From that time on, Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, because the kingdom of heaven is near."

¹⁹ Therefore, go* and* make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age."

¹⁰ And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations.*

¹⁵ And he said to them, "Go* into all the world and* preach the gospel to all creation. ¹⁶ The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who refuses to believe will be condemned.

⁴⁷ and repentance and the forgiveness* of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations,* beginning from Jerusalem.

³⁷ Now on the last day of the feast—the great day—Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let him drink,

⁸ But you will receive power when* the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth."

²¹ And he said to me, 'Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles!'"

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak about anything except that which Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, ¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit,* so that from Jerusalem and traveling around as far as Illyricum I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. ²⁰ And so, having as my ambition to proclaim the gospel where Christ has not been named, in order that I will not build on the foundation belonging to someone else, ²¹ but just as it is written,
"Those to whom it was not announced concerning him will see, and those who have not heard will understand."*

³ She has sent her servant girls,* she calls upon the wings of the high places of town,

¹⁴ She sits at the door of her house, upon a throne at the high places of town,

⁷ "At my going out the gate to the city, I secured my seat in the square.

⁹ Therefore, go out to the places where the roads exit the city and invite to the wedding celebration as many people as you find.'

²¹ And the slave came and* reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and* said to his slave, 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame!' ²² And the slave said, 'Sir, what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.' ²³ And the master said to the slave, 'Go out into the highways and hedges and press them* to come in, so that my house will be filled!

²⁰ Jesus replied to him, "I have spoken openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple courts* where all the Jews assemble, and I have said nothing in secret.

²⁰ "Go and stand in the temple courts* and* proclaim to the people all the words of this life."

Hear this, all you peoples; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world, ² both low and high, rich and poor together. ³ My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will be understanding.

¹ A psalm of Asaph.*
The Supreme God, God, Yahweh, has spoken and summoned the earth, from the rising of the sun to its setting.

¹⁵ The one who has ears, let him hear!

¹⁶ For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.

¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. ²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as if* God were imploring you through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

²³ if indeed you remain in the faith, established and steadfast and not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

²⁸ whom we proclaim, by* admonishing every person* and teaching every person* with all wisdom, in order that we may present every person* mature in Christ,

⁴ who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. ⁵ For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, ¹² training us in order that, denying impiety and worldly desires, we may live self-controlled and righteously and godly in the present age,

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And the one who hears, let him say, "Come!" And the one who is thirsty, let him come. The one who wants, let him take the water of life freely.*

⁷ The law of Yahweh is perfect, reviving life.* The testimony of Yahweh is firm, making wise the simple.

⁸ You pay attention, O brutes among the people. And you fools, when you will show insight?

⁴ to give shrewdness* to the simple, knowledge and purpose* to the young,

²² "_⌊How long_⌋,* O simple ones, will you love simplicity? And how long will scoffers delight in their scoffing, and fools hate knowledge?

⁴ "Whoever is simple, let him turn here." As for the one who lacks _⌊sense_⌋,* she says to him,

¹³ Yahweh goes forth like a mighty warrior; he stirs up zeal like a man of war. He raises the war cry, indeed he raises the battle shout; he prevails against his foes.

¹⁸ to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

²⁸ and the insignificant of the world, and the despised, God chose, the things that are not, in order that he might abolish the things that are,

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Neither sexually immoral people, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor passive homosexual partners, nor dominant homosexual partners, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor greedy persons, not drunkards, not abusive persons, not swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some of you were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus* and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁷ Because you are saying, "I am rich, and have become rich, and I have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are wretched and pitiable and poor and blind and naked, ¹⁸ I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire, in order that you may become rich, and white clothing, in order that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and eye salve to smear on your eyes, in order that you may see.

¹ "But now, please hear my speeches,* Job, and hear* all my words. ² Please look, I open my mouth; my tongue in my mouth speaks. ³ My words declare my heart's uprightness, and my lips sincerely speak _⌊what my lips know_⌋.*

⁷ The law of Yahweh is perfect, reviving life.* The testimony of Yahweh is firm, making wise the simple. ⁸ The precepts of Yahweh are right, making the heart rejoice. The command of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes. ⁹ The fear of Yahweh is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of Yahweh are true; they are righteous altogether, ¹⁰ more desirable than gold, even much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, even honey in the comb. ¹¹ Moreover, your servant is warned* by them; in keeping them is great reward.

³ My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will be understanding.

⁶ For Yahweh will give wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. ⁷ For the upright, he stores* sound judgment, a shield for those who walk uprightly,

² For I have given you good instruction; do not forsake my teaching.

²⁰ My child, be attentive to my words; to my sayings incline your ear. ²¹ May they not escape from your _⌊sight_⌋;* keep them in the midst of your heart. ²² For they are life to those who find them and healing _⌊to the entire body_⌋.*

²⁰ Have I not written for you thirty sayings with admonitions and knowledge? ²¹ In order to show you what is right—sayings of truth— in order to return a true saying to him who sent you.

¹⁶ And my _⌊insides_⌋* will rejoice when your lips speak what is upright.

² And opening his mouth he began to teach them, saying, ³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Blessed are the ones who mourn, because they will be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek, because they will inherit the earth. ⁶ Blessed are the ones who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be satisfied. ⁷ Blessed are the merciful, because they will be shown mercy. ⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart, because they will see God. ⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God. ¹⁰ Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, because theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you, lying on account of me. ¹² Rejoice and be glad, because your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.

²⁸ And it happened when Jesus finished these words the crowds were amazed at his teaching, ²⁹ because he was teaching them like one who had authority, and not like their scribes.

³⁵ in order that what was spoken through the prophet would be fulfilled, who said,
"I will open my mouth in parables; I will proclaim what has been hidden since the creation."**

⁶ Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but wisdom not of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing, ⁷ but we speak the hidden wisdom of God in a mystery, which God predestined before the ages for our glory,

²⁶ the mystery which has been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but has now been revealed to his saints,

⁴ for truly my words* are not falsehood; one who has perfect knowledge is with you.*

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.

²² An abomination of Yahweh are lips of deceit, but they who act faithfully are his delight.

¹² An abomination to kings is doing evil, for by righteousness the throne will be established.

²⁷ A man of injustice is an abomination to the righteous, but the _⌊upright_⌋* is an abomination to the wicked.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I testify concerning myself, my testimony is true, because I know where I have come from and where I am going. But you do not know where I have come from or where I am going.

⁴⁵ But because I am telling the truth, you do not believe me. ⁴⁶ Who among you convicts me concerning sin? If I am telling the truth, _⌊why_⌋* do you not believe me?

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in the truth—your word is truth.

³⁷ Then Pilate said to him, "So then you are a king!" Jesus replied, "You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I have come into the world: in order that I can testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."

"This is what the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the originator* of God's creation, says:

⁵ They have behaved corruptly toward* him; they are not his children; this is their flaw, a generation crooked and perverse.

⁶ The words of Yahweh are pure words like silver refined in the crucible on the ground, refined seven times.

¹³ The fear of Yahweh is hatred of evil, pride, and arrogance and an evil way. And I hate a mouth of perversity.

²³ I have sworn by myself; a word that* shall not return has gone forth from my mouth in righteousness: 'Every knee shall kneel down to me; every tongue shall swear.'

¹ Who is this, coming from Edom, from Bozrah in bright red garments? Who is this honored in his garment, lying down in his great strength? "It is I, speaking in justice, _⌊mighty_⌋* to save!"

⁴⁶ The officers replied, "Never has a man spoken like this!"

⁷ The law of Yahweh is perfect, reviving life.* The testimony of Yahweh is firm, making wise the simple. ⁸ The precepts of Yahweh are right, making the heart rejoice. The command of Yahweh is pure, enlightening the eyes.

¹² Who is the man fearing Yahweh? He will instruct him in the way he should choose. ¹³ His soul will lodge in prosperity, and his offspring will possess the land. ¹⁴ Intimate fellowship with Yahweh is for those who fear him, and he makes known his covenant to them.

⁹⁸ Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they* are ever with me. ⁹⁹ I have more insight than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the elders, for I keep your precepts.

⁶ A scoffer seeks wisdom, but there is none, but knowledge _⌊comes easily to him who understands_⌋.*

¹⁴ The heart of him who understands will seek knowledge, but the faces of fools, they* will feed on folly.

²⁴ The path of life leads upward for him who has insight, in order to turn away from Sheol below.

²⁴ He who understands sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool, to the end of the earth.*

¹ He who is selfish seeks a craving;* against all sound judgment he shows contempt. ² A fool will not take pleasure in understanding, but in expressing his heart.*

¹⁵ An intelligent _⌊mind_⌋* will acquire knowledge, and the ear of the wise will seek knowledge.

⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness. The unclean shall not travel through it, but* it is for them, he who walks on the way; and fools shall not wander about.

⁷ Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Is the patience* of Yahweh shortened? Are these his deeds? Are my words not pleasing to him who walks upright?

¹¹ And he answered and* said to them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to those people it has not been granted. ¹² For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

⁴⁵ It is written in the prophets, 'And they will all be taught by God.'* Everyone who hears from the Father and learns comes to me.

¹⁷ If anyone wants to do his will, he will know about my* teaching, whether it is from God or I am speaking from myself.

¹⁴ But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. ¹⁵ Now the spiritual person discerns all things, but he himself is judged by no one.

⁵ Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for it from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him.

⁷² The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver coins.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commands more than gold, even fine gold.

¹⁶² I am rejoicing over your word, like one who finds great spoil.

⁴ if you seek her like silver and search her out _⌊like treasure_⌋,* ⁵ then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and the knowledge of God you will find.

¹³ Happy is _⌊the one_⌋* who finds wisdom, and one who obtains understanding. ¹⁴ For her* income is better than the income of silver, and her revenue than that of gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and all your desires shall not compare with her.

¹⁹ My fruit is better than gold,* even refined gold, and my yield than choice silver.

²⁰ Choice silver is a tongue of righteousness, a heart* of wickedness is _⌊of little worth_⌋.*

¹⁶ Getting wisdom: _⌊how much_⌋* better than gold! And getting understanding: it is chosen _⌊over_⌋* silver.

²³ Buy truth and do not sell it, wisdom and instruction and understanding.

¹¹ Wisdom is good with an inheritance; _⌊it benefits the living_⌋.*

⁶ But Peter said, "Silver and gold _⌊I do not possess_⌋,* but what I have, this I give to you—in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!"*

¹⁰ as grieving, but always rejoicing, as poor, but making many rich, as having nothing, and possessing everything.

¹⁵ "Refined gold cannot be gotten in its place, and silver cannot be weighed out as its price. ¹⁶ It cannot be bought for the gold of Ophir, for precious onyx or* sapphire. ¹⁷ Gold and glass cannot be compared with it, and its substitution cannot be an ornament of refined gold. ¹⁸ Black corals and crystal will not be mentioned, and wisdom's price is more than red corals. ¹⁹ The topaz of Cush cannot be compared with it; it cannot be bought for pure gold.

¹⁰ more desirable than gold, even much fine gold; and sweeter than honey, even honey in the comb.

⁵ Get wisdom and insight; do not forget and do not turn from the sayings of my mouth. ⁶ Do not forsake her—then she will guard you; love her and she will keep you. ⁷ The beginning of wisdom: Get wisdom! With all that is in your possession, gain insight.

¹⁵ There is gold and many costly stones, but precious jewels are lips of knowledge.

²⁶ For what will a person be benefited if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what will a person give in exchange for his life?

⁸ _⌊More than that_⌋*, I even consider all things to be loss because of the surpassing greatness of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for the sake of whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and consider them* dung, in order that I may gain Christ ⁹ and may be found in him, not having my righteousness which is from the law, but which is through faith in Christ,* the righteousness from God on the basis of faith,*

³ And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom and with skill* and with knowledge and with every kind of craftsmanship, ⁴ to devise designs, to work with gold and with silver and with bronze, ⁵ and in stonecutting for setting and in cutting wood, for doing every kind of craftsmanship. ⁶ And, look, I have given with him Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, and I have put skill in the heart of all the skilled of heart, and they will make all that I have commanded you—

³⁰ And Moses said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* "See, Yahweh has called by name* Bezalel the son of Uri the son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah.

¹⁴ He was the son of a widow woman from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, an artisan of bronze. He was filled with wisdom and with ability and with the knowledge to do all the work with the bronze. And he came to King Solomon, and he did all of his work.

¹² and the plan of all _⌊that he had in mind_⌋* for the courtyards of the house of Yahweh and for all the surrounding storage rooms, the treasuries of the house of God, and the treasuries for sanctified objects,

¹⁹ "All this I give you in writing; from the hand of Yahweh he instructed me about all the workings of this plan."

¹⁴ When Judah turned, then behold, the battle against them was in front and behind, and they cried to Yahweh, and the priests blew on the trumpets.

²⁴ How many are your works, O Yahweh; all of them you have done in wisdom. The earth is full of your creatures.

²⁶ And his God instructs him about the prescription;* he teaches him.

⁸ "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,"
_⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. ⁹ "For as the heavens are _⌊higher_⌋* than the earth, so my ways are _⌊higher_⌋* than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

³³ Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how incomprehensible are his ways!

⁸ that he caused to abound to us in all wisdom and insight,

¹¹ in whom also we were chosen, having been predestined according to the purpose of the One who works all things according to the counsel of his will,

¹⁰ in order that the many-sided wisdom of God might be made known now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places through the church,

³ in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

³ Do not increase speaking _⌊very proud_⌋* words! Let no arrogance go forth from your mouth, for Yahweh is a God of knowledge whose deeds are not weighed.*

⁴ For you are not a God who desires* wickedness. Evil cannot dwell with you. ⁵ The boastful do not stand before* your eyes. You hate all evildoers.

¹⁰ You who love Yahweh, hate evil. He protects the lives of his faithful; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

³ I will not set before my eyes any wicked thing. I hate the work of those who fall away;* it will not cling to me.

¹⁰⁴ From your precepts I get understanding, therefore I hate every false way.

¹²⁸ Therefore all your precepts of everything I regard as right; I hate every false way.

⁶ Though Yahweh is high, yet he sees the lowly, but the proud he perceives* at a distance.

²⁴ Remove from yourself _⌊deceitful speech_⌋,* and abolish _⌊devious talk_⌋* from yourself.

¹² A worthless man, an evil man, goes around with _⌊deceitful speech_⌋.*

¹⁶ There are six things Yahweh hates, and seven things are abominations of his soul:* ¹⁷ haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, ¹⁸ a devising heart, plans of deception, feet that hurry to run to evil,* ¹⁹ a false witness who breathes lies and sends out discord* between brothers.

³¹ The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a tongue of perversity will be cut off.

⁶ By loyalty and faithfulness, iniquity will be covered over,* and by fear of Yahweh _⌊one turns_⌋* from evil.

¹⁸ Before destruction comes pride, and before a fall, a haughty spirit.*

¹⁵ Hate evil and love good and establish justice in the gate; perhaps Yahweh, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

¹⁷ Do not devise evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love _⌊a false oath_⌋,* because all these are things I hate," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

⁹ Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; be attached to what is good,

²² Abstain from every form of evil.

¹⁹ However, the solid foundation of God stands firm, having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are his,"* and "Everyone who names the name of the Lord must abstain from unrighteousness."

⁵ In the same way, younger men, be subject to the elders, and all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

⁵ The warrior of wisdom is in strength, and a man of knowledge is strong in power.

¹⁹ Wisdom gives more strength to the wise than ten rulers who are in the city.

¹⁶ So I concluded that wisdom is better than might, yet the wisdom of the poor is despised, and his words are not heard. ¹⁷ The words of the wise are heard in peace more than the shouting of a ruler is heard among the fools. ¹⁸ Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

¹⁴ With whom has he consulted, that* he enlightened him* and taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and made the way of understanding known to him?

⁹ The true light, who gives light to every person, was coming into the world.

²² Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

³³ Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how incomprehensible are his ways! ³⁴ "For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?*

²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

³⁰ But from him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

¹⁷ When Samuel saw Saul, Yahweh answered him, "Here is the man about whom I told you! This is the one who will govern my people."

¹ Then Yahweh said to Samuel, "_⌊How long_⌋* will you mourn about Saul? I have rejected him from being king over Israel! Fill up your horn with oil and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have chosen a king for myself among his sons."

⁹ Give to your servant a listening heart to judge your people, to discern between good and bad, because who is able to judge this, your difficult people?"

²⁸ When all of Israel heard the judgment that the king had rendered, they _⌊stood in awe_⌋* of the king, because they realized that the wisdom of God was in him to execute justice.

⁷ When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and he said, "Blessed be Yahweh this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people."

⁹ May Yahweh your God be blessed, who has delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel, because of the love of Yahweh for Israel forever, and he has made you king to execute justice and righteousness."

⁵ And from all my sons—for Yahweh has given many sons to me—he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel.

¹ Of Solomon.*
O God, give your judgments to the king, and your righteousness to the king's son. ² May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. ³ Let the mountains yield prosperity* for the people, and the hills in righteousness. ⁴ May he provide justice for the poor of the people, save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.

⁴ And the strength of the king loves justice.* You have established equity; you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

²⁶ And I will restore your judges, as at the first, and your counselors, as at the beginning. After this _⌊you will be called_⌋* the city of righteousness, faithful city.

¹ See, a king will rule according to righteousness, and princes will rule according to justice. ² And each one will be like a hiding place from the wind and a covering from the rainstorm, like streams of water in a dry region, like the shade of a large rock in a weary land.

⁵ "I have made the earth with humankind and animals* that are on the face of the earth by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I give it to whomever is right in my eyes. ⁶ And now I myself have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and also the animals* of the field I have given to him to serve him. ⁷ And all the nations will serve him, and his son, and _⌊his grandson_⌋,* until the coming of the time of _⌊his own_⌋* land. Then many nations and great kings will let him work.

¹⁵ In those days and in that time I will make a branch of righteousness sprout for David, and he will execute justice and righteousness in the land.

²¹ And he changes the times and the seasons, and he deposes kings and he sets up kings; he gives wisdom* to wise men and knowledge to men who know understanding.

²⁵ you will be driven away _⌊from human society_⌋* and _⌊you will dwell_⌋* with the animals* of the field, and you will be caused to graze grass like the oxen _⌊yourself_⌋,* and you will be watered with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time will pass over you until that you have acknowledged that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊to whom he wills_⌋* he gives it.

³² and you will be driven away from _⌊human society_⌋* and your dwelling will be with the animals* of the field and they will cause you to graze the grass like oxen, and seven times will pass over you, until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind and that he gives it to whom he wills.'

¹⁸ _⌊O king_⌋,* the Most High God gave the kingdom and the greatness and the glory and the majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your _⌊predecessor_⌋.* ¹⁹ And because of the greatness that he gave to him, all the peoples, the nations and languages trembled and feared before him; whomever he wanted he killed, and whomever he wanted he let live, and whomever he wanted he honored, and whomever he wanted he humbled. ²⁰ But _⌊when_⌋* his heart became arrogant and his spirit became hard so as to act proudly, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and the* glory _⌊was taken away from him_⌋.* ²¹ And he was driven away _⌊from human society_⌋* and his mind was made like the animals* and his dwelling was with the wild asses; and _⌊he was given_⌋* grass like oxen to eat, and with* the dew of heaven his body was bathed, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊whoever_⌋* he wants he sets over it. ²² "But you his _⌊successor_⌋,* Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart _⌊even though_⌋* you knew all this. ²³ And now you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven, and the vessels of his temple you have brought in before you, and you and your lords,* your wives and your concubines, have been drinking wine from* them, and you have praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone* that do not see and do not hear and do not know, but the God _⌊who holds your life in his hand_⌋* and all of your ways _⌊come from him_⌋,* you have not honored. ²⁴ So then the palm of the hand was sent out from his presence and this writing was inscribed. ²⁵ "Now this was the writing that was inscribed: 'Mene, Mene, Tekel and Parsin.' ²⁶ "This is the explanation of the matter:* 'Mene'—God has numbered your kingdom and brought an end to it. ²⁷ " 'Tekel'—you have been weighed on scales and you have been found wanting.* ²⁸ " 'Peres'—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.'" ²⁹ Then Belshazzar commanded, and they clothed Daniel with purple and placed a necklace of gold around his neck, and they made a proclamation concerning him that he would be the third ruler in authority in the kingdom. ³⁰ _⌊That same night_⌋* Belshazzar, the Chaldean king, was killed. ³¹ * And Darius the Mede received the kingdom _⌊when he was about sixty-two years old_⌋.*

¹³ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* in the visions of the night, and look, with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man* was coming, and he came to the Ancient of Days, and _⌊was presented_⌋* before him. ¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

¹⁸ And Jesus approached and* spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

¹ Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except by God, and those that exist are put in place by God.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and the one seated on it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice* he judges and makes war.

¹⁶ And he has a name written on his outer garment and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords."

³⁰ Therefore,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh the God of Israel, 'though I solemnly said that your house and the house of your ancestor* would walk before me forever, but now,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, 'far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me, I will treat with contempt!

¹⁴ Because he loves me, therefore I will deliver him; I will protect* him because he knows my name.

²⁸ then they will call* me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but not find me.

¹ Remember your Creator in the days of your youth— before the days of trouble come and the years draw near when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them!"

¹⁹ I have spoken not in secrecy, in a place, a land, of darkness, I have not said to the descendants of Jacob, 'Seek me _⌊in vain_⌋!'* I, Yahweh, am speaking righteousness, declaring uprightness.

⁶ Seek Yahweh _⌊while he lets himself be found_⌋;* call him _⌊while he is_⌋* near.

³³ But seek first his kingdom and righteousness,* and all these things will be added to you.

⁷ "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

¹⁴ But when* Jesus saw it,* he was indignant, and said to them, "Let the young children come to me. Do not forbid them, _⌊for to such belongs_⌋* the kingdom of God.

²¹ The one who has my commandments and keeps them—that one is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him."

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and _⌊will take up residence with him_⌋.*

²⁷ For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

¹⁹ We love, because he first loved us.

⁶ Your righteousness is _⌊like the mighty mountains_⌋,* your judgments like the great deep. You save man and beast, O Yahweh.

³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.

⁷ The beginning of wisdom: Get wisdom! With all that is in your possession, gain insight. ⁸ Cherish her and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her. ⁹ She will give a garland for your head; she shall bestow a crown of glory upon you."

⁴ Wealth does not profit on the day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death.

¹⁴ That wealth was lost in a bad venture. Although he has borne a child, _⌊he has nothing to leave to him_⌋.* ¹⁵ Just as he came from his mother's womb naked, _⌊he will depart_⌋* just as he came; he will take nothing with him for his toil. ¹⁶ This also is a grievous illness. Exactly as he came, so he will go. What profit does he gain for all his toil for the wind?

¹⁹ "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and consuming insect* destroy and where thieves break in and steal, ²⁰ but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor consuming insect* destroy and where thieves do not break in or steal.

⁴² But few things are necessary, or only one thing,* for Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."

²⁰ But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your life* is demanded from you, and the things which you have prepared—whose will they be?' ²¹ So is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and who is not rich toward God!"

³³ Sell your possessions and give charitable gifts. Make for yourselves money bags that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven* where thief does not approach or moth destroy.

¹¹ If then you have not been faithful with unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?* ¹² And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you your own?

⁸ To me, the least of all the saints, was given this grace: to proclaim the good news of the fathomless riches of Christ to the Gentiles,

¹⁹ And my God will fulfill your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁷ Command those who are rich in this present age not to be proud and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in God, who provides us all things richly for enjoyment, ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing freely, ¹⁹ storing up for themselves a good foundation for the future, in order that they may take hold of what is truly life.

⁵ Listen, my dear brothers! Did not God choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

¹ Come now, you rich people, weep and cry aloud over the miseries that are coming upon you! ² Your wealth has rotted, and your clothing has become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have become corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you, and it will consume your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasure in the last days.

¹⁸ I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire, in order that you may become rich, and white clothing, in order that you may be clothed and the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and eye salve to smear on your eyes, in order that you may see.

¹⁴ For her* income is better than the income of silver, and her revenue than that of gold.

¹⁰ Take my teaching and not silver; may you choose knowledge rather than choice gold.

¹² _⌊For wisdom offers protection like money offers protection_⌋.* But knowledge has an advantage—wisdom restores life to its possessor.

³² "So you must be careful to do just as Yahweh your God commanded you; you shall not turn to the right or to the left.

³ He restores my life.* He leads me in _⌊correct paths_⌋* for the sake of his name.

⁴ Make me know your ways, O Yahweh. Teach me your paths. ⁵ Cause me to walk in your truth and teach me, because you are the God of my salvation. I await you _⌊all day long_⌋.*

⁸ I* will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go. I will advise you with my eye upon you.

⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will straighten your paths.

¹¹ In the way of wisdom I have instructed you; I have led you in the path of uprightness. ¹² _⌊When you walk_⌋,* your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble.

²⁵ May your eyes look forward* and your gaze be straight before you. ²⁶ May the path of your foot be balanced and all your ways be sure. ²⁷ Do not swerve right or left; remove your foot from evil.

²² _⌊When you walk_⌋,* she* will lead you, _⌊When you lie down_⌋,* she will watch over you, and when you awake, she will converse with you.

³ many peoples shall come. And they shall say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house* of the God of Jacob, and may he teach us part of his ways, and let us walk in his paths." For instruction shall go out from Zion, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.

¹⁰ They shall not be hungry or thirsty, and heat and sun shall not strike them, for he who takes pity on them will lead them, and he will guide them to springs of water.

⁴ Look! I made* him a witness to the peoples, a leader and a commander for the peoples.

³ For this one the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

²⁷ My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish _⌊forever_⌋,* and no one will seize them out of my hand.

¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and will lead them to springs of living waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."*

¹⁴ And also the nation that they* serve I will judge. Then* afterward they shall go out with great possessions.

⁸ He raises up the poor from the dust. From the ash heap he lifts up the needy, to cause them to sit with noble people and to cause them to inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth belong to Yahweh and he has set the inhabited world on them.

¹¹ You will make known to me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. At your right hand are pleasures forever.

¹³ We shall find all precious wealth, we shall fill our houses with booty,

³¹ But if he is found, he will pay sevenfold, every possession of his house he shall give.

¹⁸ Fortune and glory are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness.

⁴ And by knowledge, rooms are filled with all riches, precious and pleasant.

⁴⁶ And these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

¹⁷ and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer together with him so that we may also be glorified together with him.

¹⁹ and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, in order that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. ²⁰ Now to the one who is able to do beyond all measure more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work in us,

³⁴ For you both sympathized with the prisoners and put up with the seizure of your belongings with joy because you* knew that you yourselves had a better and permanent possession.

⁴ into an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you

⁷ The one who conquers will inherit these things, and I will be _⌊his God_⌋* and he will be _⌊my son_⌋*.

²⁶ _⌊when he made_⌋* a rule for the rain and a way for the thunder's lightning bolt, ²⁷ then he saw it and talked about it; he established it, and moreover, he explored it. ²⁸ And to the human beings he said, 'Look, the fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.'"

¹⁹ Yahweh in wisdom founded the earth; he established the heavens in understanding.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² This one was in the beginning with God.

¹⁷ and he himself is before all things, and in him all things are held together,

²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in* our image and according to* our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of heaven,* and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every moving thing that moves upon the earth."

⁶ "But as for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain."

² But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, too small to be among the clans of Judah, from you one will go out for me, to be ruler in Israel; and his origins are from of old, from ancient days.

¹ What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and our hands have touched, concerning the word of life— ² and the life was revealed, and we have seen and testify and announce to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was revealed to us—

² Now* the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you.

²⁰ With his knowledge, depths broke open, and clouds dropped dew.

¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and took up residence among us, and we saw his glory, glory as of the one and only from the Father, full of grace and truth.

²⁰ For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything that he himself is doing. And greater works than these he will show him, so that you will be astonished.

⁵ For to which of the angels did he ever say,
"You are my son, today I have begotten you,"*
and again,
"I will be _⌊his father_⌋*, and he will be _⌊my son_⌋*"?*

⁹ By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God sent his one and only Son into the world in order that we may live through him.

⁷ "Were you born the firstborn of the human race? And were you brought forth _⌊before_⌋* the hills? ⁸ Have you listened in God's confidential discussion? And do you limit wisdom to yourself?

⁴ "Where were you at my laying the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you possess understanding. ⁵ Who determined its measurement? Yes, you do know. Or who stretched the measuring line upon it? ⁶ On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, ⁷ when the morning stars were singing together and all the sons of God* shouted for joy? ⁸ "Or who shut the sea in with doors at its bursting, when it went out of the womb, ⁹ at my making the clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, ¹⁰ and I prescribed my rule for it, and I set bars and doors, ¹¹ and I said, 'You shall come up to here, but* you shall not go further, and here it will set a boundary _⌊for your proud surging waves_⌋'?*

² Before the mountains were born and you brought forth the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

²⁵ Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. ²⁶ They will perish, but you will endure. And like a garment they will all wear out, you will replace them like clothing, and they will be set aside. ²⁷ But you are the same, and your years do not end. ²⁸ The children of your servants will continue, and their _⌊descendants_⌋* will be established before you.

¹⁰ And,
"You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of your hands;

¹ In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth— ² Now* the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. ³ And God said, "Let there be light!" And there was light. ⁴ And God saw the light, that it was good, and God caused there to be a separation between the light and between the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And it was so. ²⁵ So* God made wild animals* according to their kind and the cattle according to their kind, and every creeping thing of the earth according to its* kind. And God saw that it was good. ²⁶ And God said, "Let us make humankind in* our image and according to* our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of heaven,* and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every moving thing that moves upon the earth." ²⁷ So* God created humankind in* his image, in* the likeness of God he created him,* male and female he created them. ²⁸ And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of heaven,* and over every animal that moves upon the earth." ²⁹ And God said, "Look—I am giving to you every plant that bears seed which is on the face of the whole earth, and every kind of tree _⌊that bears fruit_⌋.* They shall be yours as food." ³⁰ And to every kind of animal of the earth and to every bird of heaven,* and to everything that moves upon the earth in which there is life I am giving every green plant as food." And it was so. ³¹ And God saw everything that he had made and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning, a sixth day.

¹⁰ _⌊He has described a circle_⌋* on the face of the water _⌊between light and darkness_⌋.*

⁶ By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

¹⁹ Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

⁵ To him who made the heavens with skill,* for his loyal love endures forever.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arm, and he will carry them in his bosom; he will lead those who nurse.

²² He is the one who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; the one who stretches out the heavens like a veil and spreads them out like a tent to live in,

¹² He is the maker of the earth by his power, who created the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding he stretched out heaven.

¹⁶ because all things in the heavens and on the earth were created by him, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers, all things were created through him and for him,

² in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the world,*

⁹ And God said, "Let the waters under heaven* be gathered to one place, and let the dry ground appear." And it was so. ¹⁰ And God called the dry ground "earth," and he called the collection of the waters "seas." And God saw that it was good.

⁷ He gathered the waters of the sea like a heap. He put the deeps in storehouses.

⁵ He established the earth on her foundations, so that it will not be moved forever and ever.

⁹ You set a boundary that they may not cross over, so that they would not return to cover the earth.

²² Do you not revere me?" _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "Do you not tremble _⌊before me_⌋?* For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, _⌊as an everlasting limit_⌋,* and it cannot pass over it, and they rise and fall loudly, but they cannot prevail, and its waves roar, but they cannot pass over it.

¹ Look! here is my servant; I hold him, my chosen one, in whom my soul delights. I have _⌊put_⌋* my spirit on him; he will bring justice forth to the nations.

¹⁷ And behold, there was* a voice from heaven saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

⁵ While* he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to him!"

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² This one was in the beginning with God. ³ All things came into being through him, and apart from him not one thing came into being that* has come into being.

¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time; the one and only, God, the one who is in the bosom of the Father—that one has made him* known.

²⁸ Father, glorify your name!" Then a voice came from heaven, "I have both glorified it,* and I will glorify it* again."

²⁸ I have gone out from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and am going to the Father."

¹³ who has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us* to the kingdom of the Son _⌊he loves_⌋*,

³ With regard to the saints who are in the land, they are the noble ones in whom is all my desire.

⁶ A sacrifice and offering you do not desire. _⌊My ears you have opened_⌋.* Burnt offering and sin offering you have not demanded. ⁷ Then I said, "Look, I come. In the scroll of the book it is written concerning me: ⁸ 'I delight to do your will, O my God, and your law is _⌊deep within me_⌋.'"*

³⁴ Jesus said to them, "My food is that I do the will of the one who sent me and complete his work.

¹ Now before the feast of Passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, and* having loved his* own in the world, loved them to the end.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he* was rich, for your sake he became poor, in order that you, by his poverty, may become rich.

¹ Blessed is the man who does not walk in the advice of the wicked; nor does he stand in the way of sinners; nor does he sit in the assembly of mockers. ² Instead, in the law of Yahweh is his delight, and on his law he meditates day and night. ³ And so, he is like a tree planted by streams of water that gives its fruit in its season; its leaf also does not wither. Therefore all that he does prospers. ⁴ Not so the wicked. Instead, they are like the chaff that the wind scatters.

¹ Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of Yahweh. ² Blessed are those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart.

Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways.

⁷ Now, O children, listen to me; do not depart from the sayings of my mouth.

²⁴ And now, my children, listen to me, and be attentive to the sayings of my mouth.

²⁸ But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it!"*

¹¹ But my people did not listen to my voice, and Israel did not yield to me. ¹² So I let them* go in the stubbornness of their heart; they walked in their counsels.

² To know wisdom and instruction, to understand sayings of understanding, ³ to gain _⌊insightful instruction_⌋,* righteousness and justice and equity,

⁸ My child, may you keep* your father's instruction, and do not reject your mother's teachings,

²¹ On a _⌊busy corner_⌋* she cries out, at the entrances of the gates in the city, she speaks her sayings:

¹ Children, listen to the instruction of a father, and be attentive in order to know insight.

¹ My child, be attentive to my wisdom, and to my understanding incline your ear;

³⁵ This Moses whom they had repudiated, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?'*—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer with _⌊the help_⌋* of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. ³⁶ This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years. ³⁷ "This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, 'God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.'*

¹⁶ But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"* ¹⁷ Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word about Christ.

²⁵ Watch out that you do not refuse the one who is speaking! For if those did not escape when they* refused the one who warned them on earth, much less will we escape,* if we* reject the one who warns from heaven,

⁴ One thing I have asked from Yahweh; it I will seek: that I may dwell in the house* of Yahweh all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Yahweh, and to consider* his temple.

¹⁰ Because better is a day in your courtyards than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be at the threshold of the house* of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹³ Planted in the house* of Yahweh, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

³ For if you cry out for understanding,* if you lift* your voice for insight, ⁴ if you seek her like silver and search her out _⌊like treasure_⌋,*

¹³ Happy is _⌊the one_⌋* who finds wisdom, and one who obtains understanding.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life for those who seize her; those who take hold of her are considered happy.

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

⁶ And they were both righteous in the sight of God, living blamelessly in all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.

³⁹ And _⌊she had_⌋* a sister named Mary, who also sat at the feet of Jesus* and* was listening to his teaching.

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed him, "If you continue in my word you are truly my disciples, ³² and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

⁴² And they were devoting themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayers.

¹¹ Now these were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica. _⌊They_⌋* accepted the message with all eagerness, examining the scriptures every day to see if these things were so. ¹² Therefore many of them believed, and not a few of the prominent Greek women and men.

²² But be doers of the message and not hearers only,* deceiving yourselves, ²³ because if anyone is a hearer of the message and not a doer, this one is like someone* staring at _⌊his own face_⌋* in a mirror, ²⁴ for he looks at himself and goes away and immediately forgets what sort of person he was. ²⁵ But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues to do it, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer who acts, this one will be blessed _⌊in what he does_⌋*.

³³ Whoever listens to me will dwell in security and rest securely* from dread and disaster."

¹³ Happy is _⌊the one_⌋* who finds wisdom, and one who obtains understanding. ¹⁴ For her* income is better than the income of silver, and her revenue than that of gold. ¹⁵ She is more precious than rubies, and all your desires shall not compare with her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life for those who seize her; those who take hold of her are considered happy.

²² For they are life to those who find them and healing _⌊to the entire body_⌋.*

² The good obtains favor from Yahweh, but anyone who schemes, he condemns.

³⁶ The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who disobeys the Son will not see life—but the wrath of God remains on him.*

³ Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace that he bestowed on us in the beloved,

⁸ _⌊More than that_⌋*, I even consider all things to be loss because of the surpassing greatness of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for the sake of whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and consider them* dung, in order that I may gain Christ

³ For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

³¹ They shall eat from the fruit of their way, and they shall be sated from their own schemes,

¹¹ and you groan at your end, when your flesh and body are consumed, ¹² and say "How I hated discipline, and I despised reproof!"

²² His iniquities shall ensnare him, the evildoer, and in the vanity of his sin he shall be caught. ²³ He shall die _⌊for lack of_⌋* discipline, and in the greatness of his folly he shall be lost.

¹ He who loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates rebuke is stupid.

³² He who ignores instruction despises himself,* but he who hears admonition gains heart.*

² Roaring like the lion is the dreaded anger of a king; he who provokes him forfeits his life.*

⁶ He who makes treasure by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and seeker* of death.

³¹ Throw _⌊away from yourselves_⌋* all of your transgressions that you committed,* and make _⌊for yourselves_⌋* a new heart and new spirit, and so why will you die, house of Israel?

¹¹ Say to them, '_⌊As I live_⌋,'* _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, '_⌊Surely I have no delight_⌋* in the death of the wicked, _⌊except_⌋* in the wicked returning from his way, and he lives. Turn back! Turn back from your ways, O evil ones, for why should you die, house of Israel?'

¹⁹ And this is the judgment: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone who practices evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed.

²³ The one who hates me hates my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not have sin. But now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

⁴⁶ Both Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and* said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you, since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life! Behold, we are turning to the Gentiles!

²² If anyone does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!*

³ how will we escape if we* neglect so great a salvation which had its beginning when it* was spoken through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard,

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?
