¹¹ And Moses _⌊implored Yahweh_⌋* his God, and he said, "Why, Yahweh, should _⌊your anger blaze_⌋* against your people whom you brought up from the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand? ¹² Why should the Egyptians _⌊say_⌋*, 'With evil intent he brought them out to kill them in the mountains and wipe them from the face of the earth'?* Turn from _⌊your fierce anger_⌋* and relent concerning the disaster for your people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by yourself, and you told them, 'I will multiply your offspring like the stars of the heavens, and all this land that I promised I will give to your offspring, and they will inherit it forever.'" ¹⁴ And Yahweh relented concerning the disaster that he had _⌊threatened_⌋* to do to his people.

²⁶ And I prayed to Yahweh, and I said, 'Lord Yahweh, you must not destroy your people and your inheritance whom you redeemed in your greatness,* whom you brought out from Egypt with a strong hand. ²⁷ Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; you must not _⌊pay attention to_⌋* the stubbornness of this people, to their wickedness and to their sin, ²⁸ lest the people of the land from which you brought us out from there say, "Because Yahweh was not able to bring them to the land that he _⌊promised_⌋* to them and because of his hatred toward them, he has brought them out to kill them in the desert."

²⁷ If I had not feared a provocation of the enemy, lest their foes might misunderstand, * lest they should say, * "Our hand is _⌊triumphant_⌋,* and Yahweh did not do all this." '

⁸ Please, my Lord! What can I say after _⌊Israel has fled from its enemies_⌋?* ⁹ The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of this, and they will surround us and cut off our name from the land. What will you do, for your great name?"

²³ So he said he would exterminate them, had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him, to reverse his wrath from destroying them.

⁹ "But* I acted for the sake of my name _⌊to keep it from being profaned_⌋* before the eyes of the nations _⌊among whom they lived_⌋,* where I made known to them before their eyes, to bring them out from the land of Egypt.
