²⁵ "And my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away; they do not see good.

¹¹ "My days are past; my plans are broken down— even the desires of my heart.

⁵ You sweep them away like a flood. They fall asleep.* In the morning they are like grass that sprouts anew. ⁶ In the morning it blossoms and sprouts anew; by evening it withers and dries up.

¹¹ My days are like a lengthened shadow, and I wither like grass.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are like the grass. As the flower of the field, so he blossoms. ¹⁶ When the wind passes over it, it is no more, and its place knows it no longer.

⁴ Humankind is like a breath, his days like a passing shadow.

³² By his evildoing, the wicked will be overthrown, and the righteous will find refuge in his death.

¹² My dwelling place is pulled up and removed from me like the tent of my shepherd; I have rolled up my life like a weaver. ⁶ A voice is saying, "Call!" And he said, "What shall I call?" All _⌊humankind_⌋* are grass, and all his loyalty is like the flowers of the field. ⁷ Grass withers; the flower withers when the breath of Yahweh blows on it. Surely the people are grass.

²⁵ Restrain your foot from being barefoot, and your throat from thirst. But you said, 'It is hopeless. No! For I have loved strangers, and after them I will go.'*

¹² that you were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, not having hope, and without God in the world.

¹¹ For the sun rises with its burning heat and dries up the grass, and its flower falls off, and the beauty of its appearance is lost. So also the rich person in his pursuits* will wither away.

¹⁴ you who do not know _⌊what will happen tomorrow_⌋*, _⌊what your life will be like_⌋*. For you are a smoky vapor that appears for a short time and then disappears.

¹³ Therefore, _⌊when you have prepared your minds for action_⌋* by* being self-controlled, put your hope completely in the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
