⁷ "_⌊His strong steps_⌋* are shortened, and his own schemes* throw him down,

³¹ Now David was told, "Ahithophel was among the conspirators with Absalom." Then David said, "Please frustrate the counsel of Ahithophel, O Yahweh."

¹⁴ Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The advice of Hushai the Arkite is better than the advice of Ahithophel." (Now Yahweh had ordained to frustrate the good counsel of Ahithophel in order for Yahweh to bring misery upon Absalom).

¹² He is frustrating the devices of the crafty, and their hands do not achieve success. ¹³ He is capturing the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are rushed.

⁶ Your mouth condemns you, and not I; and your lips testify against you.

²² In the fullness of his excess _⌊he will be in distress_⌋;* all of misery's power will come upon him.

¹⁶ And what's more, he allured you _⌊out of distress_⌋* into a broad place, where in place of it was no constraint; and what was set on your table is full of fatness.

³⁶ You enlarged my step under me, and my ankles did not slip.

¹⁰ Yahweh brings to nothing* the plan of nations; he frustrates* the intents of peoples.

³⁰ they were not willing to accept my counsel, they despised all my reproof. ³¹ They shall eat from the fruit of their way, and they shall be sated from their own schemes, ³² for the waywardness of the simple ones will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.

¹² _⌊When you walk_⌋,* your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble.

⁶ It will also be brought to Assyria, as tribute to the great king.* Ephraim will obtain disgrace and Israel will be ashamed from his advice.*
