¹² _⌊so_⌋* a man lies down, and he does not arise. _⌊Until the heavens are no more_⌋,* they will not awaken, and they will not be roused out of their sleep.

¹³ For now I would lie down, and I would be at peace; I would be asleep; then _⌊I would be at rest_⌋*

²¹ And why do you not pardon my transgression and take away my guilt? For now I shall lie in the dust, and you will seek me, but* _⌊I will be no more_⌋."*

²¹ Before I go—and I will not return— to the land of darkness and deep shadow, ²² to the land of darkness, like the darkness of a deep shadow and _⌊chaos_⌋,* so that* it shines forth like darkness.'"

²⁵ But* I myself* know that my redeemer is alive, and at the last he will stand up upon _⌊the earth_⌋.* ²⁶ And after my skin has been thus destroyed, but* from* my flesh I will see God, ²⁷ whom _⌊I will see for myself_⌋,* and whom my eyes will see and not a stranger.* _⌊My heart faints within me_⌋.*

²³ Indeed, I know that you will bring me to death and to the house of assembly for all the living.

²⁶ They will perish, but you will endure. And like a garment they will all wear out, you will replace them like clothing, and they will be set aside.

¹⁹ For the fate of _⌊humans_⌋* and the fate of the beast is _⌊the same_⌋.* The death of the one is like the death of the other, for _⌊both are mortal_⌋.* Man has no advantage over the beast, for both are fleeting. ²⁰ Both go to one place—both came from dust and both return to dust. ²¹ For no one knows whether the spirit of a human ascends to heaven and whether the spirit of the beast descends to the ground!

⁵ They are afraid of heights, and terrors are on the road. The almond tree blossoms, and the grasshopper draws itself along, and desire fails because man goes to his eternal home, and the mourners go about in the streets.

¹⁹ Your dead shall live; _⌊their corpses_⌋* shall rise. Wake up and sing for joy, dwellers of the dust, for your dew is _⌊celestial dew_⌋,* and the earth will give birth to dead spirits.*

⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens and look to the earth beneath, for the heavens will be torn to pieces like smoke, and the earth will be worn out like a garment, and those who inhabit her will die like gnats. But* my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will not be broken to pieces.

¹⁷ For look! I am about to create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered, and they shall not _⌊come to mind_⌋.*

²² "For just as the new heavens and earth that I am about to make shall stand before me," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "so shall your descendants* and your name stand.

² And many from those sleeping _⌊in the dusty ground_⌋* will awake, some to _⌊everlasting life_⌋* and some to disgrace and _⌊everlasting contempt_⌋.*

³⁵ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

¹¹ He said these things, and after this he said to them, "Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I can awaken him." ¹² So the disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well." ¹³ (Now Jesus had been speaking about his death, but they thought that he was speaking about _⌊real sleep_⌋.*)

²¹ whom heaven must receive until the times of the restoration of all things, about which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from earliest times.

²⁰ For the creation has been subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of the one who subjected it, in hope

¹⁴ for everything made visible is light. Therefore it says,
Wake up, sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.*

¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, thus also God will bring those who have fallen asleep through Jesus together with him. ¹⁵ For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who remain until the Lord's coming, will not possibly precede those who have fallen asleep.

⁷ But by the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will disappear with a rushing noise, and the celestial bodies will be destroyed by* being burned up, and the earth and the deeds done on it will be disclosed. ¹¹ Because* all these things are being destroyed in this way, what sort of people must you be in holy behavior and godliness, ¹² while* waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by* being burned up and the celestial bodies will melt as they* are consumed by heat! ¹³ But according to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness resides.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the one who was seated on it, _⌊from whose presence_⌋* earth and heaven fled, and a place was not found for them.

¹ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea did not exist any longer.
