¹ Now* the first covenant had regulations for worship and the earthly sanctuary.

⁸ And make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell in the midst of them,

³ You must not _⌊carry out_⌋* the practices of the land of Egypt, in which you lived, and you must not _⌊carry out_⌋* the practices of the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you; and you must not follow their statutes. ⁴ You must _⌊carry out_⌋* my regulations, and you must observe* my statutes by following them; I am Yahweh your God.

³⁰ Thus* you shall keep my obligation to not do any of the statutes _⌊regarding_⌋* the detestable things that they did _⌊before you_⌋,* so that you will not make yourselves unclean by them; I am Yahweh your God.'"

⁹ " 'And they shall keep my obligation, and they shall not incur guilt because of it, so that* they die through it, because they have profaned it; I am Yahweh who consecrates them.

¹² They will leave none of it until morning, and they will not break a bone in it; they will observe it according to every decree of the Passover.

¹¹ And if they are ashamed of all that they did, then the plan of the temple and its arrangement and its exits and its entrances and all of its plans* and all of its statutes. And all of its plans* and all of its laws* make known to them and write them before their eyes, so that they may remember all of its plans and all of its statutes, so that they do them!

⁶ And they were both righteous in the sight of God, living blamelessly in all the commandments and regulations of the Lord.

⁸ Beware lest _⌊anyone take you captive_⌋* through philosophy and empty deceit, according to _⌊human tradition_⌋*, according to the elemental spirits of the world and not according to Christ,

² a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord set up, not man.

⁷ For if that first covenant had been faultless, occasion would not have been sought for a second.

¹³ In calling it new, he has declared the former to be old. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is near to disappearing.

¹⁰ concerning instead only food and drink and different washings, regulations of outward things imposed until the time of setting things right. ¹¹ But Christ has arrived as a high priest of the good things to come.
