And the plague among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* stopped. ⁹ The ones who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand. ¹⁰ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ¹¹ "Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, turned away my anger from among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* when he was jealous with my jealousy in their midst, and I did not destroy the _⌊Israelites_⌋* with my jealousy. ¹² Therefore say, 'Behold, I am giving to him my covenant of peace,

⁸ And of Levi he said, "Your Thummim and your Urim are for _⌊your faithful one_⌋,* _⌊whom you tested at Massah_⌋;* you contended with him at the waters of Meribah. ⁹ The one saying of his father and of his mother, 'I have not regarded them,' and his brothers he did not acknowledge, and his children* he did not know, but rather they observed your word, and your covenant they kept.
