¹⁶ 'Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you, so that it will be good for you* _⌊in the land_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you.

³ And you shall hear, Israel, and be careful to observe these instructions, so that _⌊it may go well for you_⌋* and that you may multiply greatly, just as Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* _⌊promised_⌋* you, in a land with milk and honey.

¹⁸ And you shall do what is right and good in the eyes of Yahweh, so that _⌊it shall go well_⌋* for you and so that you may go and you may take possession of the good land that Yahweh swore for your ancestors,*

¹ "And you shall love Yahweh your God, and you shall keep his obligations and his statutes and his regulations and his commandments _⌊always_⌋.*

²⁵ You shall not eat it, so that _⌊it will go well_⌋* for you and your children after you, because then you will be doing what is* right in the eyes of Yahweh.

²⁸ _⌊Be careful to obey_⌋* all these things that I am commanding you, so that _⌊it will go well_⌋* for you and for your children after you _⌊forever_⌋,* because then you will be doing what is* good and right* in the eyes of Yahweh your God.

¹³ Your eye shall not take pity on him, and you shall purge the guilt of innocent blood from Israel, _⌊so that good will be directed toward you_⌋.*

⁷ you shall certainly let the mother go, but you may take the young for yourselves;* do this _⌊so that it may go well_⌋* for you and _⌊you may live long in the land_⌋.*

²⁹ If only they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern _⌊for themselves their end_⌋.* ³⁰ How could one chase a thousand and two could cause a myriad to flee, if their Rock had not sold them, and Yahweh had not given them up?

¹ Now Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, should I not seek for you security that things may be good for you?

¹¹ Moreover, your servant is warned* by them; in keeping them is great reward.

¹³ Oh that my people would listen to me; that Israel would walk in my ways. ¹⁴ I would subdue their enemies quickly, and turn my hand against their adversaries. ¹⁵ Those who hate Yahweh would cringe before him, and their fate* would be forever.

³ Blessed are those who observe justice, he who does righteousness at all times.

¹ Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of Yahweh. ² Blessed are those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart. ³ They also do no wrong; they walk in his ways. ⁴ You have commanded* your precepts, that we should keep them diligently. ⁵ Oh that my ways were steadfast, to keep your statutes!

¹⁰ Tell the innocent* that it is good for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.

¹⁸ O that you had listened attentively to my commandments!
Then* your prosperity would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

¹⁴ Who says 'I will build for myself a spacious house with large upper rooms,' and he cuts windows for it, and it is* paneled with cedar, and he paints it* with vermilion. ¹⁵ Do you reign as king because you are competing in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink, and he did justice and righteousness, then it was well with him?

⁴ And I sent to you all my servants the prophets, _⌊sending over and over again_⌋,* _⌊saying_⌋,* "Please, you must not do this detestable thing that I hate."

³¹ And they come to you _⌊as people do_⌋,* and they sit _⌊before you_⌋,* and my people hear your words, and they do not do them, for they are showing* passion in their mouth, but their heart is going after ill-gotten gain. ³² Now, look! You are to them like _⌊a sensual song_⌋,* beautiful of voice and _⌊played well on an instrument_⌋,* and they hear your words, _⌊but they are not doing them_⌋.*

³⁷ "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How many times I wanted to gather your children together _⌊the way_⌋* a hen gathers her young together under her* wings, and you were not willing!

²⁸ But he said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it!"*

⁴² saying, "If you had known on this day—even you—the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

¹⁴ You are my friends if you do what I command you.

²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as if* God were imploring you through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

¹ Now because we* are fellow workers, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

³ "in order that it may be well with you, and you may _⌊live a long time_⌋* on the earth."*

²⁵ Watch out that you do not refuse the one who is speaking! For if those did not escape when they* refused the one who warned them on earth, much less will we escape,* if we* reject the one who warns from heaven,

²⁵ But the one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues to do it, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer who acts, this one will be blessed _⌊in what he does_⌋*.

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones who wash their robes, so that their authority will be over the tree of life and they may enter into the city through the gates.
