¹⁰ Now _⌊when_⌋* Daniel realized that the document was signed, he went to his house (_⌊now he had windows in his upper room that were open_⌋* toward Jerusalem), and three times _⌊daily_⌋* he knelt on his knees and prayed and gave praise before his God, _⌊just as_⌋* he had been doing _⌊previously_⌋.*

³⁰ You must listen to the plea of your servant and your people Israel which they pray toward this place; and you must hear from the place where you live, from heaven you must hear and you must forgive.

³⁸ any prayer or any plea which is offered by any person for all of your people Israel, who each knows the infestation of his own heart and spreads out his palms to this house,

⁴⁴ If your people go out to battle against his enemy in the way that you shall send them and they pray to Yahweh, toward the city which you have chosen and the house which I have built for your name,

⁴⁸ if they return to you with all of their heart and with all of their soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive and they pray to you toward their land which you gave to their ancestors,* the city that you have chosen and the house that you* built for your name, ⁴⁹ then you shall hear in heaven, the place of your dwelling, their prayer and their plea, and you shall _⌊vindicate them_⌋.* ⁵⁰ You shall forgive your people who sinned against you, even for all their transgressions which they committed against you. You shall give them compassion before their captors so that they may have compassion on them,

⁵⁴ It happened that when Solomon finished praying to Yahweh all of the prayer and this plea, he got up from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling down on his knees with his palms outstretched to heaven.

¹³ (For Solomon had made a platform of bronze five cubits long and five cubits wide and three cubits high, and placed it in the midst of the outer court.) And he stood upon it, then knelt down on his knees before the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands to heaven.

³⁸ and we return to you,' with their whole heart and with all their inmost being in the land of their captivity where they took them captive, and if they pray toward their land that you have given to their ancestors* and the city that you have chosen and to the house that I have built for your name,

⁵ At the evening offering I got up from my mourning posture and, with my garment and robe torn, I fell down on my knees and I spread out my palms to Yahweh my God

¹¹ But I said, "Should a man like me run away? And would a man like me go into the temple so that he can save his life? I will not go in!"

⁷ _⌊But as for me_⌋,* through the abundance of your steadfast love* I will enter your house.* I will bow down* toward _⌊your holy temple_⌋* in awe of you.

In Yahweh I have taken refuge; how can you say to my soul, "Flee to your mountain like a bird"? ² For look: The wicked _⌊string the bow_⌋.* They have fitted their arrow to the string, to shoot from the darkness at the upright of heart.

¹ Of David, when he _⌊pretended to be crazy_⌋* in front of Abimelech* so that he drove him out, and so he departed.*
I will bless Yahweh at all times; his praise shall be in my mouth continually.

¹⁷ _⌊Morning, noon and night_⌋* I will lament and groan loudly, and he will hear my voice.

³ Be gracious to me, O Lord, because I call to you _⌊all day long_⌋.*

⁶ Come in, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Yahweh, our maker.

¹³ Then _⌊they responded_⌋* and said before the king, "Daniel, who is from _⌊the exiles_⌋* of Judah,* _⌊is not paying any attention_⌋* to you, O king, or to the decree that you have signed, _⌊and three times daily_⌋* he says his prayer."

⁴ And I said, 'I am banished* from your sight; how* _⌊will I continue to look_⌋* _⌊on your holy temple_⌋?'*

²⁸ And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but instead be afraid of the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?* And one of them will not fall to the ground _⌊without the knowledge and consent_⌋* of your Father. ³⁰ And even the hairs of your head are all numbered! ³¹ Therefore do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. ³² "Therefore everyone who acknowledges me before people, I also will acknowledge him before my Father who is in heaven. ³³ But whoever denies me before people, I also will deny him before my Father who is in heaven.

⁴ "And I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after these things do not have anything more to do. ⁵ But I will show you whom you should fear: fear the one who has authority, after the killing, to throw you* into hell! Yes, I tell you, fear this one! ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten in the sight of God. ⁷ But even the hairs of your head are all numbered! Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. ⁸ "And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before people, the Son of Man also will acknowledge him before the angels of God, ⁹ but the one who denies me before people will be denied before the angels of God.

²⁶ "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, and furthermore, even his own life, _⌊he cannot be_⌋* my disciple.

⁴¹ And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw and _⌊knelt down_⌋* and* began to pray,*

¹ And when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in the same place. ² And suddenly a sound like a violent rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.

¹⁵ For these men are not drunk, as you assume, because it is the third hour of the day.

¹ Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

¹⁷ But in order that it may not spread much further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more in this name _⌊to anyone at all_⌋."* ¹⁸ And they called them back and* commanded them* not to speak or to teach at all in the name of Jesus. ¹⁹ But Peter and John answered and* said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than God, you decide!

²⁹ And now, Lord, concern yourself with their threats and grant your slaves to speak your message with all boldness,

²⁰ "Go and stand in the temple courts* and* proclaim to the people all the words of this life."

²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered and* said, "It is necessary to obey God rather than men!

⁴⁰ And they summoned the apostles, beat them,* commanded them* not to speak in the name of Jesus, and released them.* ⁴¹ So they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin* rejoicing, because they had been considered worthy to be dishonored for the sake of the name. ⁴² Every day, both in the temple courts* and from house to house, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the good news that the Christ* was Jesus.

⁶⁰ And falling to his* knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" And after he* said this, he fell asleep.*

⁴⁰ But Peter sent them all outside, and, falling to his* knees, he prayed. And turning toward the body, he said, "Tabitha, get up!" And she opened her eyes, and when she* saw Peter, she sat up.

⁹ And the next day, as* they were on their way and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about the sixth hour.

²⁴ But I consider my* life as worth _⌊nothing_⌋* to myself, in order to finish my mission and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

³⁶ And when he* had said these things, he fell to his knees and* prayed with them all.

⁵ And it happened that when our days were over, we departed and* went on our way, while* all of them accompanied us, together with their* wives and children, as far as outside the city. And after* falling to our knees on the beach and* praying,

¹⁴ On account of this, I bend my knees before the Father,

¹⁴ and most of the brothers, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, dare even more to speak the word without fear.

²⁰ according to my eager expectation and hope, that I will be put to shame in nothing, but with all boldness, even now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether through life or through death.

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

¹⁷ and everything _⌊whatever_⌋* you do in word or in deed, giving thanks for all things in the name of the Lord Jesus to God the Father through him.

¹⁷ pray constantly, ¹⁸ give thanks in everything; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

¹⁵ Therefore through him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise _⌊continually_⌋* to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.

¹⁰ Do not be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and you will experience affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹³ 'I know where you live, where the throne of Satan is. And you hold fast to my name and did not deny your* faith in me, even in the days of Antipas my faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan lives.
