I was watching until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth and it was raised on its feet like a human, and a human heart was given to it. ⁵ And look, another beast, a second one, looking like a bear. And it was raised up on one side and three tusks* were in its mouth between its teeth, and so _⌊it was told_⌋,* "Arise, eat much flesh!" ⁶ After this I was watching and look, another beast like a leopard; _⌊it had four wings_⌋* of a bird on its back, and _⌊the beast had_⌋* four heads, and dominion was given to it. ⁷ After this in the visions of the night I was looking and there was a fourth beast, terrifying and frightful and exceedingly strong, and _⌊it had_⌋* _⌊great iron teeth_⌋,* and it was devouring and crushing, and it stamped the remainder* with its feet; and it was different from all the other beasts _⌊that preceded it_⌋* _⌊and it had ten horns_⌋.* ⁸ I was considering the horns, and look, another little horn came up _⌊among_⌋* them, and three of the earlier horns _⌊were rooted out_⌋* from before it, and there were eyes like the eyes of a human* in this horn and also a mouth that was speaking boastfully. ⁹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* until thrones were placed and an Ancient of Days sat; his clothing was like white snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool and his throne was a flame* of fire and its wheels* were burning fire. ¹⁰ A stream of fire issued forth and flowed _⌊from his presence_⌋;* thousands upon thousands served him and ten thousand upon ten thousand stood before him. The judge sat, and the books were opened. ¹¹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* then* because of the noise of the boastful words of the horn who was speaking; _⌊I continued watching_⌋* until the beast was slain and its body was destroyed, and it was given over to burning with fire. ¹² And as for the remainder of the beasts, _⌊their dominion was taken away_⌋,* but a prolongation _⌊of their life_⌋* was given to them for a season and a time. ¹³ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* in the visions of the night, and look, with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man* was coming, and he came to the Ancient of Days, and _⌊was presented_⌋* before him. ¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed. ¹⁵ "_⌊As for me, Daniel_⌋,* my spirit was troubled _⌊within me_⌋,* and the visions of my head terrified me. ¹⁶ So I approached one of the attendants and I asked him* about the truth concerning all this; and he told me* that he would make known to me the explanation of the matter. ¹⁷ 'These great beasts which are four in number are four kings who will arise from the earth. ¹⁸ But the holy ones* of the Most High will receive the kingdom, and they will take possession of the kingdom forever, _⌊forever and ever_⌋.'* ¹⁹ "Then I desired to make certain concerning the fourth beast that was different from _⌊all the others_⌋*—exceedingly terrifying, with its iron teeth and its claws of bronze; it devoured and crushed and stamped the remainder with its feet— ²⁰ and concerning the horns that were on its head, and concerning the other horn that came up and _⌊before which three horns fell_⌋,* and this horn _⌊had eyes_⌋* and a mouth speaking _⌊boastfully_⌋,* and its appearance was larger than its companions. ²¹ _⌊I continued watching_⌋,* and this horn made war with the holy ones* and it prevailed over them, ²² until the Ancient of Days came and gave judgment to the holy ones* of the Most High; and the time arrived and the holy ones* took possession of the kingdom. ²³ "And he said, 'The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom that will be on the earth that will be different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth and it will trample it and it will crush it. ²⁴ And as for the ten horns coming from it, from this kingdom* ten kings will arise, and another will arise after them. And he will be different from the earlier ones, and he will subdue three kings. ²⁵ And he will speak words against the Most High, and he will wear out the holy ones* of the Most High, and he will attempt to change times and law, and they will be given into his hand for a time and two times and half a time. ²⁶ Then the court will sit, and his dominion will be removed,* to be eradicated and to be destroyed _⌊totally_⌋.* ²⁷ And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the nation of the holy ones* of the Most High; his kingdom _⌊is an everlasting kingdom_⌋,* and all the dominions will serve and obey him.' ²⁸ _⌊This is the end of the account_⌋.* _⌊As for me, Daniel_⌋*—my thoughts terrified me greatly and my face changed over me, but I kept the matter in my heart."*

¹ After these things the word of Yahweh came* to Abram in a vision, saying: "Do not be afraid, Abram; I am your shield, and your reward shall be very great."

² And God spoke to Israel in visions of the night and said, "Jacob, Jacob." And he said, "Here I am."

⁶ and he said,
"Please hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak to him in a dream.*

¹³ Amid troubling thoughts from night visions, at the falling of deep sleep on men,

¹⁴ Indeed, God speaks in one way, even* in two,* yet someone does not perceive it. ¹⁵ "In a dream, a vision of the night, when a deep sleep falls on men slumbering on their bed, ¹⁶ then he opens the ear of men, and _⌊he frightens them with a warning_⌋*

¹ Then Yahweh said to me, "Take yourself a large tablet and write on it with a common stylus pen: Maher-Halal-Hash-Baz.

⁸ Now go, write it on a tablet with them, and inscribe it on a scroll, _⌊that_⌋* it may be _⌊for the time to come_⌋,* forever, forever.

²⁸ The prophet who has with him a dream, let him tell the dream. But the prophet* who has my word with him, let him speak my word faithfully. _⌊What is straw compared to wheat_⌋?"* _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh.

⁷ And all the nations will serve him, and his son, and _⌊his grandson_⌋,* until the coming of the time of _⌊his own_⌋* land. Then many nations and great kings will let him work.

⁴ Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Yahweh that he had spoken to him on _⌊a scroll_⌋.*

¹ And it was in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, and I was in the midst of* the exiles* by the _⌊Kebar River_⌋.* The heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

¹⁷ _⌊And as for these four young men_⌋,* God* gave to them knowledge and insight into all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had insight into all visions* and dreams.

¹ Now* in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams; and his spirit was troubled and his sleep left him.

²⁸ But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what it is that will be at the end of days. This is your dream and the visions of your head on your bed. ²⁹ "As for you, king,* your thoughts on your bed _⌊turned to_⌋* what it was that would be _⌊in the future_⌋,* and the revealer of mysteries has made known to you what that would be.

⁵ And I saw a dream and a revelation on my bed and it frightened me, and the visions of my head terrified me.

¹ Belshazzar the king made a great festival for a thousand of his lords,* and _⌊in the presence of_⌋* the thousand lords he was drinking wine.*

²² "But you his _⌊successor_⌋,* Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart _⌊even though_⌋* you knew all this.

³⁰ _⌊That same night_⌋* Belshazzar, the Chaldean king, was killed.

⁷ After this in the visions of the night I was looking and there was a fourth beast, terrifying and frightful and exceedingly strong, and _⌊it had_⌋* _⌊great iron teeth_⌋,* and it was devouring and crushing, and it stamped the remainder* with its feet; and it was different from all the other beasts _⌊that preceded it_⌋* _⌊and it had ten horns_⌋.*

¹³ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* in the visions of the night, and look, with the clouds of heaven one like a son of man* was coming, and he came to the Ancient of Days, and _⌊was presented_⌋* before him.

¹⁵ "_⌊As for me, Daniel_⌋,* my spirit was troubled _⌊within me_⌋,* and the visions of my head terrified me.

¹ In the third year of the kingdom of Belshazzar the king, a vision appeared _⌊to me, Daniel_⌋,* after the one that appeared to me _⌊previously_⌋.*

²⁸ * And it will happen afterward thus: I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your elders will dream dreams; your young men shall see visions.

⁷ Surely my Lord does not do anything unless he has revealed his secret to his servants the prophets.

² Then Yahweh answered me and said, "Write the vision and make it plain on the tablet so that _⌊it might be read quickly_⌋.*

¹⁷ 'And it will be in the last days,' God says, 'I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. ¹⁸ And even on my male slaves and on my female slaves I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

⁴ For whatever was written beforehand was written for our instruction, in order that through patient endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

¹ It is necessary to boast; it is not profitable, but I will proceed to visions and revelations of the Lord.

¹⁹ Therefore, write the things which you saw, and the things which are, and the things which are about to take place after these things.

⁴ And when the seven thunders spoke,* I was about to write, and I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders spoke, and do not write them!"

¹ After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind could blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.

¹⁵ And he said to me, "The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and crowds and nations and languages.

⁴ Radiant* you are, majestic, from* the mountains of prey.

³ And she raised up one from her cubs; he became a fierce lion, and he learned to tear prey; he ate* humans.* ⁴ And nations heard about him; in their pit he was caught, and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt. ⁵ And she saw* that she was waiting in vain; her hope was destroyed, and she took one from her cubs, and she made him a fierce lion. ⁶ And he walked about in the midst of lions; he became a fierce lion, and he learned to tear prey; he ate* humans.* ⁷ And he knew their widows,* and he devastated their cities, and the land was appalled, and _⌊everyone in it_⌋* at the sound of his roar. ⁸ And nations set out against him _⌊from the surrounding provinces_⌋,* and they spread their net over him, and he was caught in their pit.

³² The head of this statue was of fine gold, its chest and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, ³³ its legs of iron, its feet, part of them of iron and part of them of clay.

³⁷ You, O king, the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power and the might and the glory, ³⁸ and also _⌊human beings wherever they dwell_⌋,* the animals of the field and the birds* of heaven*—he has given into your hand and made you ruler over all of them—you are the head of gold. ³⁹ And after you another kingdom inferior to yours will arise, and another third kingdom of bronze that will rule over the whole earth. ⁴⁰ And a fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, and _⌊just as_⌋* iron crushes and smashes _⌊everything_⌋,* and as iron shatters all of these other metals, so it will crush and it will shatter these nations.

¹ _⌊I looked up again_⌋,* and I saw, and look!—four chariots coming out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze. ² With the first chariot there were red horses, and with the second chariot there were black horses. ³ And with the third chariot there were white horses, and with the fourth chariot there were strong* dappled horses. ⁴ And I answered and said to the angel that was talking to me, "What are these, my lord?" ⁵ And the angel answered and said to me, "These are the four winds* of the heavens going out after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth. ⁶ _⌊The one with_⌋* the black horses is going out to the north country, and the white horses go after them,* while the dappled ones go to the south country." ⁷ When the strong horses went out, they were anxious to go to patrol the earth. And he* said, "Go, patrol the earth." And they patrolled the earth. ⁸ And he cried out to me and said to me, "See those going out to the north country have set my spirit at rest in the north country."

¹ And I saw coming up out of the sea a beast that had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns ten royal headbands,* and on its heads a blasphemous name.*

⁴⁹ Yahweh will raise up against you a nation from far off, from the end of the earth, attacking as the eagle swoops down, _⌊a nation whose language you will not understand_⌋,*

²³ Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives and were not separated in their death. They were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.

⁶ _⌊How much less_⌋* for a human being who is a maggot, and _⌊a human_⌋* who is a worm?"

²⁰ O Yahweh, put them in fear. Let the nations know they are merely human. Selah

²⁸ Whose arrows are sharp, and all of his bows are bent. The hoofs of his horses are reckoned like flint, and his wheels like the storm wind. ²⁹ His roaring is like the lion, and he roars like young lions. And he growls and seizes his prey, and he carries it off, and not one can rescue it.

¹³ And you yourself said in your heart,
'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise up my throne above the stars of God; and I will sit on the mountain of assembly on the summit of Zaphon;* ¹⁴ I will ascend to the high places of the clouds,* I will make myself like the Most High.' ¹⁵ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit. ¹⁶ Those who see you will stare at you, they will look closely at you: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who caused kingdoms to shake, ¹⁷ who made the world like the desert and destroyed its cities, who would not let his prisoners go home?'

⁷ A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has gone out from his place to make your land as a horror, your cities will go to ruin _⌊without_⌋* inhabitant.

¹³ Look, he comes up like the clouds, and his chariots are like the whirlwind, his horses are swifter than eagles, woe to us, for we are devastated.

⁹ look, I am going to send and take all the clans* of the north,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, 'and I will send* to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations all around, and I will destroy them, and I will make them a horror, and an object of hissing, and _⌊everlasting ruins_⌋.* ¹⁰ And I will exterminate from them the sound of jubilation, and the sound of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp. ¹¹ And all this land will become a site of ruins, a desolation, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.* ¹² _⌊And then_⌋* when the seventy years* are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, 'for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and I will make it _⌊an everlasting waste_⌋.* ¹³ And I will bring upon that land all my words that I have spoken against it, everything that is written in this scroll which Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations. ¹⁴ For many nations and great kings will let them work, even them, and I will repay them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.'" ¹⁵ For thus said Yahweh, the God of Israel, to me, "Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and you must give it to all the nations to whom I am sending you to drink. ¹⁶ And they will drink, and they will stagger, and they will act like madmen because of the _⌊presence_⌋* of the sword that I am sending among them." ¹⁷ So I took the cup from the hand of Yahweh and I gave it* to all the nations to whom Yahweh sent me to drink: ¹⁸ Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, and its kings, and its officials, to make them a site of ruins, a horror, an object of hissing, and a curse, as it is this day; ¹⁹ Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his officials, and all his people; ²⁰ and all the other* people; and all the kings of the land of Uz; and all the kings of the land of the Philistines—*Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod; ²¹ Edom, and Moab, and the _⌊Ammonites_⌋;* ²² and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastland that is across the sea; ²³ and Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all those who are trimmed to the side; ²⁴ and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the other* people who dwell in the desert;* ²⁵ and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media; ²⁶ and all the kings of the north, near and far, each one to his brother, and all the kingdoms of the world that are on the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach, he will drink after them.

³⁸ He has left his den like a lion, for their land has become a horror, because of the anger of the oppressors, and because of _⌊his burning anger_⌋."*

⁴⁰ For thus says Yahweh,
"Look, like an eagle he will swoop down, and he will spread out his wings against Moab.

³⁰ _⌊Therefore_⌋* her young men will fall in her public squares, and all _⌊her soldiers_⌋* will perish on that day," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. ³¹ "Look, I am against you, O arrogant one," _⌊declares_⌋* Lord Yahweh of hosts, "for your day has come, the time when I will punish you. ³² And the arrogant one will stumble and fall, and there is no one who raises him up. And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it will devour everything around him."

¹⁹ Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens; they chased us on the mountains, they have set an ambush for us in the desert.

³ and you must say, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "_⌊The great eagle with great wings and long feathers_⌋* and _⌊full of variegated plumage_⌋* came to Lebanon and he took the treetop of the cedar.

² "Son of man,* say to the leader of Tyre, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh:
"Because your heart was haughty, and you said, 'I am a god; I sit in the seat of the gods, I sit in the heart of the seas!' But* you are a human, not a god, and you gave your heart to be like the heart of a god.

⁹ _⌊Will you indeed still say_⌋* "I am a god!" before the face of your killers?* And in fact you are a human* and not a god in the hand of _⌊those who pierce you_⌋.*

³⁰ And the king answered and said, "Is this not the great Babylon which I have built as a royal palace by the strength of my own power, and for the glory of my own majesty?" ³¹ While the words were still in the mouth of the king, a voice from heaven came, saying, 'To you, King Nebuchadnezzar, it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you, ³² and you will be driven away from _⌊human society_⌋* and your dwelling will be with the animals* of the field and they will cause you to graze the grass like oxen, and seven times will pass over you, until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind and that he gives it to whom he wills.' ³³ _⌊Immediately_⌋* the word was fulfilled _⌊concerning_⌋* Nebuchadnezzar, and he was expelled from _⌊human society_⌋* and he ate grass like oxen, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven until his hair was like the hair of an eagle and his nails grew like a bird's claws.

³⁶ "_⌊At that time_⌋* my reason returned to me, and also the glory of my kingdom and my majesty and splendor returned to me, and my advisers and my lords* searched me out, and I was established over my kingdom and abundant greatness was added to me.

¹⁸ _⌊O king_⌋,* the Most High God gave the kingdom and the greatness and the glory and the majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your _⌊predecessor_⌋.* ¹⁹ And because of the greatness that he gave to him, all the peoples, the nations and languages trembled and feared before him; whomever he wanted he killed, and whomever he wanted he let live, and whomever he wanted he honored, and whomever he wanted he humbled. ²⁰ But _⌊when_⌋* his heart became arrogant and his spirit became hard so as to act proudly, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom and the* glory _⌊was taken away from him_⌋.* ²¹ And he was driven away _⌊from human society_⌋* and his mind was made like the animals* and his dwelling was with the wild asses; and _⌊he was given_⌋* grass like oxen to eat, and with* the dew of heaven his body was bathed, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊whoever_⌋* he wants he sets over it. ²² "But you his _⌊successor_⌋,* Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart _⌊even though_⌋* you knew all this. ²³ And now you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven, and the vessels of his temple you have brought in before you, and you and your lords,* your wives and your concubines, have been drinking wine from* them, and you have praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone* that do not see and do not hear and do not know, but the God _⌊who holds your life in his hand_⌋* and all of your ways _⌊come from him_⌋,* you have not honored.

⁶ For look! I am raising up the Chaldeans, the bitter and impetuous nation, the one who walks through the spacious places of earth to take possession of dwellings not belonging to it.* ⁷ They* are dreadful and awesome; their* justice and their* dignity proceed from themselves.* ⁸ Their* horses are more swift than leopards; they are more menacing than wolves at dusk. Their* horsemen gallop; their* horsemen come from afar; they fly like an eagle that is swift to devour.

⁵ _⌊How much less_⌋* the defiant;* the arrogant, treacherous man? He who broadens his throat like Sheol, and who, like death, is not satisfied, and who gathers to himself all the nations, and harvested for himself all the peoples, will not succeed. ⁶ Shall not all of these take up a taunt against him, with ridicule and riddles against him, saying, 'Woe to him who heaps up what is not his'? For how long? And, 'Woe to him who makes himself heavy with pledges'? ⁷ Will not your creditors suddenly rise up and awaken those who make you tremble? Then you shall be as plunder for them. ⁸ Because you plundered many nations, all the remaining nations will plunder you on account of the blood of humanity and violence against the land, and against cities and all who live in them. ⁹ Woe to him who obtains profit from evil gain for his house, to set his nest on high, to be saved from the hand of misfortune! ¹⁰ You have plotted shame for your house, cutting off many peoples and sinning against your life.

²⁸ Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

²⁴ When he turned around and saw them, he cursed them in the name of Yahweh. Then two bears came out of the forest and mauled forty-two boys among them.

¹² May a man meet a she-bear robbed of offspring and not a fool in his folly.

¹⁷ Look! I am stirring the Medes up against them, who do not value silver and do not delight in gold. ¹⁸ And their bows will shatter young men. And they will not show mercy on the fruit of the womb; their eyes will not look compassionately on children.

⁹ All wild animals in the field, come, to devour,* all wild animals in the forest!

²¹ To the land of Merathaim, go up against her, and against the inhabitants of Pekod, massacre and destroy them," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and do according to all that I have commanded you. ²² The sound of battle is in the land, and great destruction. ²³ How the blacksmith's hammer of all the earth is cut down and broken! How Babylon has become as a horror among the nations! ²⁴ I laid a bird snare for you, and you were caught, O Babylon. But you yourself did not know. You were discovered and seized, because with Yahweh you measured yourself. ²⁵ Yahweh has opened his armory, and he has brought out the weapons of his wrath, for it is a word for my Lord Yahweh of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans. ²⁶ Come against her from the end, open her granaries. Pile her up like heaps and destroy her. Let there be no remnant for her. ²⁷ Massacre all her bulls, let them go down to the slaughtering. Woe to them, for their day has come, the time of their punishment. ²⁸ There is the sound of fugitives and survivors from the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Yahweh our God, the vengeance for his temple. ²⁹ Summon archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow. Encamp all around her, there must not be for her an escape. Take revenge on her according to her deeds. According to all that she has done, so do to her. For against Yahweh she has behaved insolently, against the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁷ "And you, son of man,* thus says the Lord Yahweh: 'Say to _⌊all kinds of birds and animals of the field_⌋,* "Be gathered, come be gathered _⌊from everywhere_⌋* to my sacrifice that I am sacrificing for you, a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel, and you will eat flesh, and you will drink blood. ¹⁸ Flesh of warriors you will eat, and the blood of leaders of the land you will drink; rams, young rams and goats, bulls, and the fattened animals of Bashan—all of them! ¹⁹ And you will eat fat _⌊until you are satiated_⌋,* and you will drink blood _⌊until you are drunk_⌋* from my sacrifice that I sacrifice for you, ²⁰ and you will be satisfied at my table with horse and horsemen and warriors and every man of war," ' _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh.

³⁹ And after you another kingdom inferior to yours will arise, and another third kingdom of bronze that will rule over the whole earth.

²⁸ " 'Peres'—your kingdom has been divided and given to the Medes and Persians.'"

³ And I lifted up my eyes and I saw, and look! A ram* standing _⌊before_⌋* the stream, and _⌊it had_⌋* two horns, and the horns were long, but the one was longer than the second, and the longer one came up _⌊after the other one_⌋.* ⁴ I saw the ram charging westward and northward and southward, and _⌊none of the beasts stood before it_⌋,* and there was no rescuing from _⌊its power_⌋,* and it did _⌊what it wanted_⌋* and it became strong.*

² And now I will reveal the truth to you. Look! Still three kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth will get abundance and great wealth, even more than all of them, and _⌊when he becomes strong_⌋* through his wealth, then he will stir up _⌊everyone_⌋* against the kingdom of Javan.*

⁸ I will attack them like a bear robbed of her offspring, and I will tear open the covering of their heart; there I will devour them like a lion, like an animal of the field would mutilate them.

⁴ The first was like a lion and _⌊had_⌋* the wings of an eagle. I was watching until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth and it was raised on its feet like a human, and a human heart was given to it.

⁵ And I was considering this, and look, a he-goat coming from the west across the face of the whole earth, and it was not touching the ground;* and the he-goat had _⌊a conspicuous horn_⌋* between its eyes. ⁶ Then it came toward the ram _⌊that had the two horns_⌋* that I saw standing _⌊before_⌋* the stream, and it ran at it with* the rage of its power. ⁷ And I saw it approaching the ram and it was furious at it, and it struck the ram, and it broke its two horns, and _⌊there was not strength in the ram to stand before him_⌋,* and he threw it down to the ground and trampled it, _⌊and there was no one who could rescue the ram_⌋* from its power. ⁸ And the he-goat grew _⌊exceedingly great_⌋,* and _⌊at the height of its power_⌋* the great horn was broken, and four conspicuous horns* came up in place of it toward the four winds of heaven.

²⁰ "The ram that you saw _⌊who had two horns_⌋* represents the kings of Media and Persia. ²¹ "And the hairy he-goat is the _⌊kingdom_⌋* of Greece, and the great horn that is between his eyes—he is the first king. ²² And the horn that was broken, and then there arose four horns in place of it—these are four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, but not with his power.

²⁰ Then he asked, "Do you know why I have come to you? And now I return to fight against the prince of Persia and I myself* am going, and look,* the prince of Javan* will come.

³ And a mighty king will arise, and he will rule with great dominion, and he will do _⌊as he pleases_⌋.* ⁴ But _⌊as he rises in power_⌋,* his kingdom will be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, and not according to his dominion by which he ruled, for his kingdom will be uprooted and be given _⌊to others besides them_⌋.* ⁵ "Then the king of the south will grow strong and also _⌊one of his officials_⌋,* and he will grow stronger _⌊than him_⌋* and he will rule _⌊a dominion greater than his dominion_⌋.* ⁶ And at the end of some years they will make an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make a peace treaty, but _⌊she will not retain her position of power_⌋,* and his offspring* will not endure, and she will be given up, she and her attendants and her child supporting her, in those times.* ⁷ And a branch from her roots* will rise up in his place, and he will come against the army and he will enter the stronghold of the king of the north and he will take action against them and he will prevail. ⁸ And also their gods with their idols and with the _⌊precious vessels_⌋,* silver and gold he will take to Egypt into captivity, and for years _⌊he will leave the king of the north alone_⌋.* ⁹ And then he* will come into the kingdom of the king of the south, but he will return to his land. ¹⁰ "But his sons will wage war and they will gather a multitude of great forces and _⌊he will advance with great force_⌋,* and he will overflow like a flood and he will pass through and he will return, and they will wage war up to his fortress. ¹¹ And the king of the south will become furious, and he will go and he will battle against him, against the king of the north; and he will muster a great multitude, and the multitude will be given into his hand. ¹² When the multitude is carried off, his heart will be exalted and he will overthrow _⌊tens of thousands_⌋,* but he will not prevail. ¹³ And the king of the north will again raise a multitude, greater than the former, and _⌊at the end of some years_⌋* he will surely come with a great army and with great supplies.* ¹⁴ "And in these times many will rise up against the king of the south, and _⌊the violent ones of your people_⌋* will lift themselves _⌊to fulfill_⌋* the vision, but they will fall. ¹⁵ And the king of the north will come, and he will throw up siege ramps* and capture a city of fortifications and the military forces of the south and _⌊his choice troops_⌋* will not stand, for* there is no strength left to resist. ¹⁶ And the one coming to him will act _⌊according to_⌋* his pleasure, and there is no one who _⌊will stand_⌋* _⌊before him_⌋,* and he will stand in _⌊the beautiful land_⌋* and complete destruction will be in his power. ¹⁷ And he will set his face to come with the authority of his whole kingdom and will form an agreement;* and he will _⌊act_⌋,* and the daughter of women he will give to him to destroy it,* but the ploy will not succeed _⌊and she will not support him_⌋.* ¹⁸ And he will turn his face to the coastlands, and he will capture many, but* a commander will end his insults to him _⌊so that instead his insults will turn back upon him_⌋.* ¹⁹ And he will turn back his face toward* the strongholds of his land, but he will stumble and he will fall and will not be found. ²⁰ "Then in his place will arise one sending an official throughout the glory* of his kingdom, and _⌊in a few days_⌋* he will be broken, but not in anger and not in battle.

⁷ And I will be like a lion to them; I lie in wait beside the way, like a leopard.

² And the beast that I saw was similar to a leopard, and its feet were like a bear's, and its mouth was like the mouth of a lion, and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority.

⁴³ I beat them fine, like the dust of the earth; like the mire of the streets, I crushed them, I stamped them down.

⁴⁰ And a fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, and _⌊just as_⌋* iron crushes and smashes _⌊everything_⌋,* and as iron shatters all of these other metals, so it will crush and it will shatter these nations. ⁴¹ _⌊And just as_⌋* you saw the feet and the toes, _⌊partly potter's clay_⌋* and _⌊partly iron_⌋,* it will be a divided kingdom; and _⌊some hardness_⌋* of the iron will be in it, _⌊just as_⌋* you have seen the iron mixed with the wet clay. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so part of the kingdom will be strong _⌊and partly brittle_⌋.*

² Daniel _⌊explained_⌋* and said, "I was looking in my vision in the night, and look, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.

¹⁹ "Then I desired to make certain concerning the fourth beast that was different from _⌊all the others_⌋*—exceedingly terrifying, with its iron teeth and its claws of bronze; it devoured and crushed and stamped the remainder with its feet— ²⁰ and concerning the horns that were on its head, and concerning the other horn that came up and _⌊before which three horns fell_⌋,* and this horn _⌊had eyes_⌋* and a mouth speaking _⌊boastfully_⌋,* and its appearance was larger than its companions.

²³ "And he said, 'The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom that will be on the earth that will be different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth and it will trample it and it will crush it. ²⁴ And as for the ten horns coming from it, from this kingdom* ten kings will arise, and another will arise after them. And he will be different from the earlier ones, and he will subdue three kings.

¹⁰ And it grew up to the host of heaven, and it threw down to the ground some of the host and some of the stars and trampled them.

³ And another sign appeared in heaven, and behold, a great fiery red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven royal headbands.*

⁷ And the angel said to me, "Why are you astonished? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that has the seven heads and the ten horns that carries her.

¹² And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.

³ Do not increase speaking _⌊very proud_⌋* words! Let no arrogance go forth from your mouth, for Yahweh is a God of knowledge whose deeds are not weighed.*

³ May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, the tongue speaking great boasts—

²⁰ and concerning the horns that were on its head, and concerning the other horn that came up and _⌊before which three horns fell_⌋,* and this horn _⌊had eyes_⌋* and a mouth speaking _⌊boastfully_⌋,* and its appearance was larger than its companions. ²¹ _⌊I continued watching_⌋,* and this horn made war with the holy ones* and it prevailed over them, ²² until the Ancient of Days came and gave judgment to the holy ones* of the Most High; and the time arrived and the holy ones* took possession of the kingdom. ²³ "And he said, 'The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom that will be on the earth that will be different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth and it will trample it and it will crush it. ²⁴ And as for the ten horns coming from it, from this kingdom* ten kings will arise, and another will arise after them. And he will be different from the earlier ones, and he will subdue three kings. ²⁵ And he will speak words against the Most High, and he will wear out the holy ones* of the Most High, and he will attempt to change times and law, and they will be given into his hand for a time and two times and half a time.

⁹ _⌊And from one of them_⌋* came forth a horn, _⌊a little one_⌋,* and it grew exceedingly* toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beautiful land. ¹⁰ And it grew up to the host of heaven, and it threw down to the ground some of the host and some of the stars and trampled them. ¹¹ Even against the prince of the hosts it acted arrogantly and took away from him the regular burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown. ¹² And on account of transgression, the host was given over to the horn in addition to the regular burnt offering. And it cast down truth to the ground, and it _⌊acted_⌋,* and it had success.

²³ And at the end of their kingdom, when the transgressions are completed, a king will arise, fierce in countenance and skilled in riddles. ²⁴ And his power will grow, but not by his own power, and he will cause fearful destruction, and he will succeed and _⌊he will act_⌋,* and he will destroy the mighty and the people of the holy ones.* ²⁵ And by his planning* he will make a success of deceit by* his hand, and in his _⌊mind_⌋* he will _⌊boast_⌋,* and in their ease he will destroy many, and even against the prince of princes he will rise up, and he will be broken, but not by human hands.

³⁶ "Then the king will do _⌊as he pleases_⌋,* and he will exalt himself and will consider himself above any god, and he will speak horrendous things _⌊against_⌋* the God of gods, yet he will succeed until the period of anger is finished, for what is determined will be done.

⁴ who opposes and who exalts himself over every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God.

² for people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

¹⁸ _⌊For by speaking high-sounding but empty words_⌋*, they entice with desires of the flesh and with licentiousness those who are scarcely escaping from those who live in error,

¹⁶ These people are grumblers, discontented, proceeding according to their* desires, and their mouths speaking pompous words, _⌊showing partiality to gain an advantage_⌋*.

⁷ And the appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle, and on their heads were something like crowns similar in appearance to gold, and their faces were like men's faces,

⁵ And a mouth was given to him speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority to act was given to him for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth for blasphemies toward God, to blaspheme his name and his dwelling, those who live in heaven.

¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up from the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he was speaking like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast on behalf of him, and he causes the earth and those who live in it to worship the first beast _⌊whose fatal wound had been healed_⌋*. ¹³ And he performs great signs, so that he even causes fire from heaven to come down to the earth before people.

⁸ All your robes are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From palaces of ivory stringed instruments gladden you.

² Before the mountains were born and you brought forth the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

²⁴ I say, "My God, do not carry me off from my life in the middle of my days." Your years continue throughout all generations. ²⁵ Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

² you who cover yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a tent curtain, ³ the one who sets beams in the waters for his upper chambers, who makes clouds his chariot, who rides* on the wings of the wind, ⁴ who makes his messengers the winds, his attendants a flame of fire.

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

¹³ As for* the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches. It* was moving to and fro between the living creatures, and _⌊the fire was very bright_⌋* and lightning was going out from the fire. ¹⁴ And the living creatures _⌊were speeding to and fro_⌋* like the appearance of lightning. ¹⁵ And I saw the living creatures, and look! A wheel was on the earth* beside _⌊each of the living creatures that had four faces_⌋.* ¹⁶ The appearance of the wheels and their construction was like the appearance of beryl,* and _⌊they all looked alike_⌋,* and their appearance and their construction was _⌊like a wheel within a wheel_⌋.* ¹⁷ When they moved, they went toward their four sides; they did not _⌊veer at all as they went_⌋.* ¹⁸ And their rims _⌊were high and awesome_⌋,* and _⌊all four of_⌋* their rims were full of eyes all around. ¹⁹ And at the going of the living creatures, the wheels next to them also went, and _⌊when the creatures were lifted from the ground_⌋* the wheels also rose. ²⁰ _⌊Wherever_⌋* the spirit went they would go there, and the wheels rose, for the spirit of the living creatures* was in the wheels. ²¹ At their* going, they* go, and at their standing, they stood, and at their being lifted up from on the earth,* the wheels rose,* for the spirit of the living creatures* was in the wheels.

² And he spoke* to the man clothed in linen and said, "Go _⌊in among the wheel area under the cherubim_⌋* and fill the hollow of your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and toss them on the city." And he went right before my eyes. ³ Now* the cherubim were standing on the south of the temple _⌊when the man went_⌋,* and the cloud filled the inner courtyard. ⁴ And the glory of Yahweh rose up from on the cherub toward* the threshold of the house,* and the house* was filled with the cloud, and the courtyard was filled with the brightness of the glory of Yahweh. ⁵ And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard _⌊as far as_⌋* the outer courtyard; it was like the voice of God Shaddai* _⌊when he speaks_⌋.* ⁶ And then at his command* to the man clothed in linen, _⌊saying_⌋,* "Take fire from among the wheel area from among the cherubim," he went and stood beside the wheel. ⁷ Then the cherub stretched out his hand from among* the cherubim toward the fire that was among* the cherubim, and he lifted up and gave* it into the hollow of the hand of the man clothed with linen, and he took it, and he went out.

³⁴ You were looking on _⌊until_⌋* a stone was chiseled out*—that not by hands—and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay, and it broke them in pieces. ³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold _⌊all at once_⌋* broke into pieces* and they became like chaff from the summer threshing floor, and the wind carried them away and any trace of them could not be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and it filled the whole earth.

⁴⁴ And _⌊in the day of those kings_⌋,* the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will _⌊never_⌋* be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left for another nation,* and it will bring an end to all these kingdoms, but it will stand _⌊forever_⌋.* ⁴⁵ _⌊Inasmuch as_⌋* you saw that a stone from the mountain was chiseled out* but not by hands, and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, thereby the great God made known to the king what will be _⌊in the future_⌋,* and the dream is certain and its explanation trustworthy."

²² until the Ancient of Days came and gave judgment to the holy ones* of the Most High; and the time arrived and the holy ones* took possession of the kingdom.

² But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, too small to be among the clans of Judah, from you one will go out for me, to be ruler in Israel; and his origins are from of old, from ancient days.

¹² Are you not from of old, O Yahweh my God, my Holy One? You* shall not die. O Yahweh, you have marked them* for judgment; O Rock, you have established them* for reproof.

² And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothing became bright as the light.

³ and his clothing became radiant—extremely white, like no cloth refiner on earth can _⌊make so white_⌋.*

³⁰ Therefore, because he* was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat _⌊one of his descendants_⌋* on his throne,

³³ Therefore, having been exalted to the right hand of God and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he has poured out this that you see and hear.*

²⁴ then the end, when he hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when he has abolished all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ For it is necessary for him to reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

⁹ and may be found in him, not having my righteousness which is from the law, but which is through faith in Christ,* the righteousness from God on the basis of faith,*

⁷ and to you who are being afflicted, rest with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels, ⁸ with burning flame* giving punishment to those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus,

¹⁶ the one who alone possesses immortality, who lives in unapproachable light, whom no human being has seen nor is able to see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

⁷ But by the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people. ⁸ Now, dear friends, do not let this one thing escape your notice, that one day with the Lord is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day. ⁹ The Lord is not delaying the promise, as some consider slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he* does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance. ¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will disappear with a rushing noise, and the celestial bodies will be destroyed by* being burned up, and the earth and the deeds done on it will be disclosed.

⁵ And this is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light and there is no darkness in him at all.

¹⁴ and his head and hair were white like wool, white as snow, and his eyes were like a fiery flame,

¹⁸ in order that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of military tribunes, and the flesh of the powerful, and the flesh of horses and those seated on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!"

² Then* he said,
"Yahweh came from Sinai, and he dawned upon them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran, and he came with myriads of holy ones, at his right hand a fiery law for them.*

¹⁹ And he* said, "Therefore, hear the word of Yahweh. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne with all the hosts of heaven standing beside him from his right hand and from his left hand.

³ Our God comes and he is not silent. Before him fire devours, and around him it is very tempestuous.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, with thousands doubled. The Lord is among them at Sinai, distinctive in victory.*

¹¹ Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice. Let the sea with* its fullness roar. ¹² Let the field with* all that is in it exult. Then all the trees of the forests will sing for joy ¹³ before Yahweh, for he is coming; for he is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his faithfulness.

² Cloud and thick darkness are surrounding him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne. ³ Fire goes before him, and devours his enemies round about.

²⁷ Look! The name of Yahweh comes from afar, burning with his anger and heaviness of cloud. His lips are full of indignation, and his tongue is like a devouring fire.

³³ For Topheth has been prepared from yesterday; indeed, it is made ready for the king. He makes its pile of wood deep and wide; he makes fire and wood _⌊abundant_⌋.* The breath of Yahweh burns in it like a stream of sulfur.

¹⁵ For look! Yahweh will come in fire, and his chariots like the storm wind, to _⌊give back_⌋* his anger in wrath, and his rebuke in flames of fire. ¹⁶ For Yahweh enters into judgment on all flesh with fire and his sword, and _⌊those slain by_⌋* Yahweh shall be many.

²⁶ Then the court will sit, and his dominion will be removed,* to be eradicated and to be destroyed _⌊totally_⌋.*

⁵ Mountains quake before him; the hills shake apart.* The earth heaves before him— the world and all her inhabitants. ⁶ His indignation—who can stand before it? Who can endure _⌊his fierce anger_⌋?* His wrath is poured out like fire; rocks are shattered before* him.

⁵ And you will flee by the valley of my mountains, because the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal, and you will flee like you fled from the earthquake in the days of King Uzziah of Judah. And Yahweh my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.*

¹⁶ Then those who revered* Yahweh spoke _⌊with one another_⌋.* And Yahweh listened attentively* and heard, and a scroll of remembrance was written _⌊before him_⌋* of those who revere* Yahweh and ponder his name. ¹⁷ "They will be mine," says Yahweh of hosts, "on the day that I am acting, my treasured possession. I will have compassion on them as a man has compassion on his son who serves him. ¹⁸ You will return and see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve him.

³¹ Now when the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

²² But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, and to tens of thousands of angels, to the festal gathering

¹⁴ And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, also prophesied about* these people, saying, "Behold, the Lord came with tens of thousands of his holy ones

¹¹ And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and of the living creatures and of the elders, and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands,

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne and the one who was seated on it, _⌊from whose presence_⌋* earth and heaven fled, and a place was not found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead—the great and the small—standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and each one was judged according to their deeds. ¹⁴ And Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire. ¹⁵ And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

⁸ I was considering the horns, and look, another little horn came up _⌊among_⌋* them, and three of the earlier horns _⌊were rooted out_⌋* from before it, and there were eyes like the eyes of a human* in this horn and also a mouth that was speaking boastfully.

²⁵ And he will speak words against the Most High, and he will wear out the holy ones* of the Most High, and he will attempt to change times and law, and they will be given into his hand for a time and two times and half a time. ²⁶ Then the court will sit, and his dominion will be removed,* to be eradicated and to be destroyed _⌊totally_⌋.*

²⁵ And by his planning* he will make a success of deceit by* his hand, and in his _⌊mind_⌋* he will _⌊boast_⌋,* and in their ease he will destroy many, and even against the prince of princes he will rise up, and he will be broken, but not by human hands.

⁴⁵ And then he will pitch the tents of his palace between the sea and _⌊the beautiful holy mountain_⌋,* and he will come to his end, and there is no one* helping him."

⁸ and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of his mouth, and wipe out by the appearance of his coming,

⁸ Because of this her plagues will come in one day— death and mourning and famine— and she will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who passes judgment on her is powerful!"

²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur.

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat down on them, and authority to judge was granted to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and did not receive the mark on their* forehead and on their hand, and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

¹⁰ And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet also are, and they will be tormented day and night _⌊forever and ever_⌋*.

¹² And I saw the dead—the great and the small—standing before the throne, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.

⁴ The first was like a lion and _⌊had_⌋* the wings of an eagle. I was watching until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth and it was raised on its feet like a human, and a human heart was given to it. ⁵ And look, another beast, a second one, looking like a bear. And it was raised up on one side and three tusks* were in its mouth between its teeth, and so _⌊it was told_⌋,* "Arise, eat much flesh!" ⁶ After this I was watching and look, another beast like a leopard; _⌊it had four wings_⌋* of a bird on its back, and _⌊the beast had_⌋* four heads, and dominion was given to it.

⁷ And I saw it approaching the ram and it was furious at it, and it struck the ram, and it broke its two horns, and _⌊there was not strength in the ram to stand before him_⌋,* and he threw it down to the ground and trampled it, _⌊and there was no one who could rescue the ram_⌋* from its power.

⁴ what is a human being that you think of him? and a child of humankind that you care for him? ⁵ And you made him a little lower than heavenly beings,* and with glory and with majesty you crowned him.

⁵ God has gone up with a shout, Yahweh with the sound of a trumpet.

¹⁷ The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, with thousands doubled. The Lord is among them at Sinai, distinctive in victory.* ¹⁸ You have ascended on high; you have led away captives. You have received gifts from among humankind, and even from the rebellious, so that Yah* God may dwell there.

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ _⌊His dominion will grow continually, and to peace there will be no end_⌋* on* the throne of David and over* his kingdom, to establish it* and sustain it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.

¹⁹ Look, like a lion he comes up from the thickets of the Jordan to _⌊a pastureland by a constantly flowing stream_⌋.* So _⌊I will chase him away hurriedly_⌋* from it. And whoever is chosen I will appoint over it. For who is like me, and who can summon me? And who is this, the shepherd who can stand _⌊before me_⌋?"*

²⁶ And from above the expanse that was above their heads there was the likeness of a throne, _⌊looking like a sapphire_⌋,* and above the likeness of the throne was a likeness similar to* the appearance of a human on it, but _⌊above it_⌋.*

⁹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* until thrones were placed and an Ancient of Days sat; his clothing was like white snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool and his throne was a flame* of fire and its wheels* were burning fire.

⁴¹ The Son of Man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all the causes of sin and those who do lawless deeds,

³⁰ And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven,* and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven* with power and great glory.

⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, "You have said it.* But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming on the clouds of heaven."

²⁶ And then they will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.

⁶¹ But he was silent and did not reply anything. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?" ⁶² And Jesus said, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power* and coming with the clouds of heaven."

²⁷ And then they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud* with power and great glory.

³⁶ But be alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

¹³ And no one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven—the Son of Man.

²⁷ And he has granted him authority to carry out judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

³⁴ Then the crowd replied to him, "We have heard from the law that the Christ remains _⌊forever_⌋!* And how do you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?"

⁵⁶ And he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"

²⁰ which he has worked* in Christ, raising* him from the dead and seating him* at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this age but also in the coming one,

⁶ who, existing in the form of God, did not consider being equal with God something to be grasped, ⁷ but emptied himself by* taking the form of a slave, by* becoming in the likeness of people. And being found in appearance like a man, ⁸ he humbled himself by* becoming obedient to the point of death, that is, death on a cross.

¹⁴ Therefore, since the children share in blood and flesh, he also in like manner shared in these same things, in order that through death he could destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

²⁴ For Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf,

⁷ Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even every one who pierced him, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him.
Yes, amen.

¹³ and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching to the feet and girded around his* chest with a golden belt,

¹⁸ and the one who lives, and I was dead, and behold, I am living _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and I hold the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁴ And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud was seated one like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

⁶ "But as for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain." ⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you. ⁸ Ask from me and I will make the nations your heritage, and your possession the ends of the earth.

⁶ You make him over the works of your hands; all things you have placed under his feet:

⁶ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

¹¹ and let all kings bow down to him. Let all nations serve him.

¹⁷ May his name endure forever. May his name increase _⌊as long as the sun shines_⌋,* and let them be blessed in him. Let all nations call him blessed.

A declaration of Yahweh to my lord, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." ² Yahweh will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies.

¹³ Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures _⌊throughout all generations_⌋.*

¹⁰ Yahweh will reign forever, Your God, O Zion, _⌊throughout all generations_⌋.* Praise Yah.*

⁷ _⌊His dominion will grow continually, and to peace there will be no end_⌋* on* the throne of David and over* his kingdom, to establish it* and sustain it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this.

¹² For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you shall perish, and the nations shall be utterly devastated.

³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold _⌊all at once_⌋* broke into pieces* and they became like chaff from the summer threshing floor, and the wind carried them away and any trace of them could not be found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and it filled the whole earth.

⁴⁴ And _⌊in the day of those kings_⌋,* the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will _⌊never_⌋* be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left for another nation,* and it will bring an end to all these kingdoms, but it will stand _⌊forever_⌋.*

⁴ Then the herald proclaimed _⌊aloud_⌋,* "To you _⌊it is commanded_⌋,* O peoples, _⌊nations and people of all languages_⌋,*

³ How great are his signs and wonders, how strong is his kingdom, _⌊an everlasting kingdom_⌋;* and his sovereignty is from generation to generation.

²⁶ _⌊I make a decree_⌋* that in all the dominion of my kingdom people will be trembling and fearing before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God and endures _⌊forever_⌋* and his* kingdom is one that will not be destroyed and his _⌊dominion has no end_⌋.*

¹⁸ But the holy ones* of the Most High will receive the kingdom, and they will take possession of the kingdom forever, _⌊forever and ever_⌋.'*

²⁷ And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the nation of the holy ones* of the Most High; his kingdom _⌊is an everlasting kingdom_⌋,* and all the dominions will serve and obey him.'

²¹ And those who have been saved will go up on Mount Zion to rule the mountain of Esau. And the kingdom _⌊will belong to_⌋* Yahweh.

⁷ And I will make the one who limps a remnant, and the one driven far away a strong nation, and Yahweh will reign over them on Mount Zion from now to forever.

²⁷ All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and _⌊anyone to whom_⌋* the Son wants to reveal him.*

¹⁸ And Jesus approached and* spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

³³ And he will reign over the house of Jacob _⌊forever_⌋,* and of his kingdom there will be no end.

²² All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him."*

¹¹ Now while* they were listening to these things, he went on and* told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and they thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear immediately. ¹² Therefore he said, "A certain nobleman traveled to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

³⁵ The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

²² For the Father does not judge anyone, but he has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ in order that all people* will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly I say to you that the one who hears my word and who believes the one who sent me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. ²⁵ "Truly, truly I say to you, that an hour is coming—and now is here—when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones who hear will live. ²⁶ For just as the Father has life in himself, thus also he has granted to the Son to have life in himself. ²⁷ And he has granted him authority to carry out judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

²⁴ then the end, when he hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when he has abolished all rule and all authority and power. ²⁵ For it is necessary for him to reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. ²⁶ The last enemy to be abolished is death. ²⁷ For "he subjected all things under his feet."* But when it says "all things" are subjected, it is clear that the one who subjected all things to him is not included. ²⁸ But whenever all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected* to the one who subjected all things to him, in order that God may be all in all.

²⁰ which he has worked* in Christ, raising* him from the dead and seating him* at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name named, not only in this age but also in the coming one, ²² and he subjected all things under his feet* and gave him as head over all things to the church,

⁹ Therefore also God exalted him and graciously granted him the name above every name, ¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven and of those on earth and of those under the earth, ¹¹ and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

²⁸ Therefore, since we* are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be thankful, through which let us serve God acceptably, with awe and reverence.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, with angels and authorities and powers having been subjected to him.

²¹ The one who conquers, I will grant to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also have conquered and have sat down with my Father on his throne.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful."

⁷ And he asked the court officials of Pharaoh that were with him in the custody of his master's house, "Why are your faces sad today?" ⁸ And they said to him, "We each dreamed a dream, but there is no one to interpret it." And Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me."

⁸ And it happened that in the morning his spirit was troubled, and he sent and called all of the magicians* of Egypt, and all its wise men, and Pharaoh told his dream to them. But _⌊they had no interpretation_⌋* for Pharaoh.

¹⁷ I sat not in the assembly of jokers, nor did I exult. Because of the _⌊presence_⌋* of your hand I sat alone, for you filled me with indignation. ¹⁸ Why is my pain endless, and my wound incurable? It refuses to become healed. Truly you are to me like a deceitful brook, waters that are not trustworthy.

¹⁶ But I, I have not run away from being a shepherd _⌊who follows you_⌋,* and I have not desired the disastrous day. You, you know the pronouncement of my lips, it was before your face.

³ And the king said to them, "_⌊I have had a dream_⌋* and my spirit is anxious to know the dream."

¹⁹ "Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was distressed _⌊for some time_⌋,* and his thoughts disturbed him. The king answered and he said, 'Belteshazzar, let the dream and its explanation not disturb you.' Belteshazzar answered and said, 'My lord, may the dream and its explanation be for those who hate you and for your enemies.

¹ In the first year of Belshazzar the king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions* of his head as he lay on his bed; then he wrote down the dream and the _⌊summary_⌋* of the words _⌊as follows_⌋:*

²⁸ _⌊This is the end of the account_⌋.* _⌊As for me, Daniel_⌋*—my thoughts terrified me greatly and my face changed over me, but I kept the matter in my heart."*

²⁷ And I, Daniel, was overcome, and I became ill for some days, and I _⌊performed_⌋* the business of the king, and I was dismayed over the vision and _⌊I did not understand it_⌋.*

¹⁶ I hear and my stomach shakes; my lips quiver at the sound; infection enters my bones; that which is beneath me trembles; I wait quietly for the day of trouble to come upon the people attacking us.

⁴¹ And when he approached and* saw the city, he wept over it, ⁴² saying, "If you had known on this day—even you—the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For days will come upon you and your enemies will put up an embankment* against you, and will surround you and press you hard from all directions. ⁴⁴ And they will raze you to the ground, you and your children within you, and will not leave a stone upon a stone within you, _⌊because_⌋* you did not recognize the time of your visitation."

² that my grief is great and there is constant distress in my heart. ³ For I could wish myself to be accursed from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my fellow countrymen according to the flesh,

¹⁴ because I* know that the removal of my habitation is imminent, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

⁹ And I went to the angel and told him to give me the little scroll, and he said to me, "Take and eat it up, and it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey." ¹⁰ And I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it up, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth, and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. ¹¹ And they said to me, "It is necessary for you to prophesy again about many peoples and nations and languages and kings."

¹⁰ A stream of fire issued forth and flowed _⌊from his presence_⌋;* thousands upon thousands served him and ten thousand upon ten thousand stood before him. The judge sat, and the books were opened.

¹³ And I heard a certain holy one speaking, and a certain other holy one said to the specific one _⌊who was speaking_⌋,* "_⌊For how long_⌋* is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, and the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and the host to trampling?" ¹⁴ And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings, then the sanctuary will be restored." ¹⁵ _⌊And then_⌋* when I, Daniel, saw the vision, and I was seeking understanding, there was one standing before me with the appearance of a man. ¹⁶ And I heard the voice of a human at the Ulai, and he called and said, "Gabriel, make this man understand the vision."

²² And he instructed me and he spoke with me and he said, "Daniel I have now come out* to teach you understanding.

⁵ And I lifted up my eyes and I saw,* and there was a man, and he was dressed in linen, and his waist was girded with the gold of Uphaz. ⁶ Now his body was like turquoise,* and his face was like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes were like torches of fire, and his arms and his legs were like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the sound of a multitude.

¹¹ And he said to me, "Daniel, a man beloved, pay attention to the words that I am speaking to you and _⌊stand upright where you are_⌋,* for I have now been sent to you." And _⌊while he was speaking_⌋* with me this word,* I stood up trembling. ¹² And he said to me, "You must not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself _⌊before_⌋* your God, your words were heard, and I myself* have come because of your words.

⁵ Then I looked, I myself, Daniel, and look, there were two others standing: _⌊one on this bank of the stream and one on the other_⌋.* ⁶ Then he said to the man who was clothed in linen who was above* the water of the stream,* "_⌊How long until_⌋* the end of the wonders?"

⁸ _⌊I had a vision in the night_⌋,* and look, a man riding on a red horse. And he was standing between the myrtle shrubs that were in the ravine, and behind him were red, reddish-brown, and white horses. ⁹ And I asked, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking with me said, "I will show you what these are." ¹⁰ And the man standing between the myrtle shrubs answered and said, "These are those whom Yahweh has sent to patrol* the earth." ¹¹ And they answered the angel of Yahweh who was standing between the myrtle shrubs, and they said, "We have patrolled* the earth, and look, all the earth _⌊is dwelling in peace_⌋."*

³ And look, the angel who was talking to me was coming forward, and another angel was coming forward to meet him.

⁷ "Thus says Yahweh of hosts: 'If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep my requirements, then you will judge* my house, and you will also guard my courtyards, and I will give to you passageways* among these that are standing here.

⁵ And one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! Behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.

¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are dressed in the white robes—who are they, and from where have they come?" ¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me,
"These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁴ from men by your hand, O Yahweh, from men of this world. Their share is in _⌊this life_⌋,* and you fill their stomach with your treasure. They are satisfied with children. They bequeath their excess to their children.

³ And four great beasts were coming up from the sea, differing _⌊from one another_⌋.* ⁴ The first was like a lion and _⌊had_⌋* the wings of an eagle. I was watching until its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth and it was raised on its feet like a human, and a human heart was given to it.

¹⁹ And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what will happen in the period of wrath,* for it refers to the appointed time of the end.

³⁶ Jesus replied, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews. But now my kingdom is not from here."

¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up from the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he was speaking like a dragon.

¹⁶ In place of your* fathers will be your sons. You will make them princes in all the land.*

⁵ Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds. ⁶ Let the extolling of God be in their throat, and a double-edged sword in their hand, ⁷ to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,* ⁸ to bind their kings with chains and their _⌊nobles_⌋* with fetters of iron, ⁹ to execute on them the judgment that is decreed.* This will be honor for all his faithful ones; Praise Yah.*

¹² For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you shall perish, and the nations shall be utterly devastated. ¹³ The glory of Lebanon shall come to you; the cypress, the plane, and the pine together, to glorify the place of my sanctuary, and I will do honor to the place of my feet. ¹⁴ And the children of those who oppressed you shall come to you bending low, and all those who treated you disrespectfully shall bow down at the soles of your feet. And they shall call you the city of Yahweh, Zion of the holy one of Israel.

³ Blessed is* the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

¹² because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

¹¹ The saying is trustworthy:
For if we died with him, we will also live with him; ¹² if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

²⁶ And the one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, I will give him authority over the nations, ²⁷ and "he will shepherd them with an iron rod; he will break them in pieces like jars made of clay,"*

¹⁰ and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth."

⁴⁰ And a fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, and _⌊just as_⌋* iron crushes and smashes _⌊everything_⌋,* and as iron shatters all of these other metals, so it will crush and it will shatter these nations. ⁴¹ _⌊And just as_⌋* you saw the feet and the toes, _⌊partly potter's clay_⌋* and _⌊partly iron_⌋,* it will be a divided kingdom; and _⌊some hardness_⌋* of the iron will be in it, _⌊just as_⌋* you have seen the iron mixed with the wet clay. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so part of the kingdom will be strong _⌊and partly brittle_⌋.* ⁴³ And in that you saw the iron was mixed with wet clay, so _⌊they will mix in marriage_⌋* and they will not cling _⌊to one another_⌋,* just as iron does not mix with clay.

¹¹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* then* because of the noise of the boastful words of the horn who was speaking; _⌊I continued watching_⌋* until the beast was slain and its body was destroyed, and it was given over to burning with fire.

²³ "And he said, 'The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom that will be on the earth that will be different from all the other kingdoms, and it will devour the whole earth and it will trample it and it will crush it.

⁹ _⌊And from one of them_⌋* came forth a horn, _⌊a little one_⌋,* and it grew exceedingly* toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the beautiful land. ¹⁰ And it grew up to the host of heaven, and it threw down to the ground some of the host and some of the stars and trampled them. ¹¹ Even against the prince of the hosts it acted arrogantly and took away from him the regular burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown.

³⁶ "Then the king will do _⌊as he pleases_⌋,* and he will exalt himself and will consider himself above any god, and he will speak horrendous things _⌊against_⌋* the God of gods, yet he will succeed until the period of anger is finished, for what is determined will be done. ³⁷ He will not pay respect to the gods of his ancestors,* or to the darling of women, and not to any god will he pay respect, for he will consider himself great over all gods.

¹² And on account of transgression, the host was given over to the horn in addition to the regular burnt offering. And it cast down truth to the ground, and it _⌊acted_⌋,* and it had success.

²⁴ And his power will grow, but not by his own power, and he will cause fearful destruction, and he will succeed and _⌊he will act_⌋,* and he will destroy the mighty and the people of the holy ones.*

³¹ And military forces from him _⌊will occupy_⌋* and will profane* the _⌊sanctuary stronghold_⌋,* and they will abolish the regular burnt offering, and they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.

⁷ And I heard the man who was clothed in linen who was above* the water of the stream,* and he raised his right hand and his left hand to heaven and he swore _⌊by the one who lives forever_⌋* that an appointed time, appointed times, and half an appointed time would pass when the shattering of _⌊the power of the holy people_⌋* _⌊would be completed_⌋;* then all these things will be accomplished.

⁷ And when they have completed their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will make war with them and will conquer them and will kill them. ⁸ And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which is called symbolically Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. ⁹ And those from peoples and tribes and languages and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and they will not allow their dead bodies to be placed in a tomb.

³ And another sign appeared in heaven, and behold, a great fiery red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven royal headbands.* ⁴ And his tail swept away a third of the stars from heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, in order that whenever she gave birth to her child he could devour it.

⁵ And a mouth was given to him speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority to act was given to him for forty-two months. ⁶ And he opened his mouth for blasphemies toward God, to blaspheme his name and his dwelling, those who live in heaven. ⁷ And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and people and language and nation. ⁸ And all those who live on the earth will worship him, _⌊everyone whose name is not written_⌋* from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered. ⁹ If anyone has an ear, let him hear! ¹⁰ If anyone is going into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, by the sword he is to be killed.
Here is the patient endurance and the faith of the saints. ¹¹ And I saw another beast coming up from the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he was speaking like a dragon. ¹² And he exercises all the authority of the first beast on behalf of him, and he causes the earth and those who live in it to worship the first beast _⌊whose fatal wound had been healed_⌋*. ¹³ And he performs great signs, so that he even causes fire from heaven to come down to the earth before people. ¹⁴ And he deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs that it has been granted to him to perform on behalf of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who has the wound of the sword and yet lived. ¹⁵ And it was given to him to put breath into the image of the beast, in order that the image of the beast both spoke and caused that all those, unless they worshiped the image of the beast, should be killed. ¹⁶ And he causes all people, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, that they give them a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, ¹⁷ and that no one was able to buy or to sell except the one who had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of his name. ¹⁸ Here is wisdom: the one who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number,* and his number is six hundred sixty-six.*

⁶ And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the witnesses to Jesus.
And _⌊I was greatly astonished when I saw her_⌋*.

¹⁹ And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war with the one who is seated on the horse and with his army.

⁴ for the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my blood-vengeance has come!

⁹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* until thrones were placed and an Ancient of Days sat; his clothing was like white snow and the hair of his head was like pure wool and his throne was a flame* of fire and its wheels* were burning fire. ¹⁰ A stream of fire issued forth and flowed _⌊from his presence_⌋;* thousands upon thousands served him and ten thousand upon ten thousand stood before him. The judge sat, and the books were opened. ¹¹ "_⌊I continued watching_⌋* then* because of the noise of the boastful words of the horn who was speaking; _⌊I continued watching_⌋* until the beast was slain and its body was destroyed, and it was given over to burning with fire.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that in the renewal of the world,* when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me—you also will sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁹ and I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred on me, ³⁰ that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

² Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if by you the world is judged, are you unworthy of the most insignificant courts? ³ Do you not know that we will judge angels, not to mention ordinary matters?

⁶ and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.

¹¹ And after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here," and they went up into heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them. ¹³ And at that hour a great earthquake took place, and a tenth of the city collapsed, and seven thousand _⌊people_⌋* were killed by the earthquake, and the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. ¹⁴ The second woe has passed. Behold, the third woe is coming quickly! ¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*." ¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders who are seated on their thrones before God fell down on their faces and worshiped God, ¹⁷ saying,
"We give thanks to you, Lord God All-Powerful, the one who is and the one who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. ¹⁸ And the nations were angry, and your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to give their* reward to your slaves the prophets and to the saints and to the ones who fear your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth."

⁸ And another second angel followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who caused all the nations to drink from the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality." ⁹ And another third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, ¹⁰ he himself also will drink of the wine of the anger of God that has been mixed full strength in the cup of his wrath, and will be tortured with fire and sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. ¹¹ And the smoke of their torture went up _⌊forever and ever_⌋*, and those who worshiped the beast and his image did not have rest day and night, _⌊along with anyone who received_⌋* the mark of his name. ¹² Here is the patient endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith in Jesus. ¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write:
'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!'"
"Yes," says the Spirit, "in order that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow after them." ¹⁴ And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud was seated one like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. ¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud, "Send out your sickle and reap, because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is ripe!" ¹⁶ And the one seated on the cloud swung his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped. ¹⁷ And another angel came out of the temple that is in heaven; he also had a sharp sickle. ¹⁸ And another angel who had authority over the fire went out from the altar, and he called out with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Send out your sharp sickle and harvest the clusters of grapes from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are at their prime!" ¹⁹ And the angel swung his sickle into the earth and harvested the vine of the earth, and threw the grapes* into the great winepress of the wrath of God. ²⁰ And the winepress was stomped outside the city, and blood went out from the winepress up to the bridles of the horses, about one thousand six hundred stadia.*

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and the one seated on it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice* he judges and makes war. ¹² Now his eyes were a flame of fire, and on his head were many royal headbands having a name written that no one except he himself knows. ¹³ And he was dressed in an outer garment dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies that are in heaven, dressed in clean, white fine linen, were following him on white horses. ¹⁵ And out of his mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it he could strike the nations. And he will shepherd them with an iron rod,* and he stomps the winepress of the wine of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. ¹⁶ And he has a name written on his outer garment and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords." ¹⁷ And I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly _⌊directly overhead_⌋*,
"Come! Assemble for the great banquet of God, ¹⁸ in order that you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of military tribunes, and the flesh of the powerful, and the flesh of horses and those seated on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and slave, and small and great!" ¹⁹ And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war with the one who is seated on the horse and with his army. ²⁰ And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs before him, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who had worshiped his image. The two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur. ²¹ And the rest were killed by the sword of the one who is seated on the horse—the sword that comes out of his mouth—and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

⁹ And they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the fortified camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and consumed them. ¹⁰ And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet also are, and they will be tormented day and night _⌊forever and ever_⌋*.

⁴⁰ And a fourth kingdom will be strong as iron, and _⌊just as_⌋* iron crushes and smashes _⌊everything_⌋,* and as iron shatters all of these other metals, so it will crush and it will shatter these nations.

¹ Now it happened that in those days a decree went out from Caesar* Augustus to register all the empire.

²⁰ and concerning the horns that were on its head, and concerning the other horn that came up and _⌊before which three horns fell_⌋,* and this horn _⌊had eyes_⌋* and a mouth speaking _⌊boastfully_⌋,* and its appearance was larger than its companions.

³ Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, ⁴ who opposes and who exalts himself over every so-called god or object of worship, so that he sits down in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God. ⁵ Do you not remember that while* we were still with you, we were saying these things to you? ⁶ And you know that which restrains him now, so that he will be revealed in his own time. ⁷ For the mystery of lawlessness is at work already; only the one who now restrains* will do so until he is out of the way,* ⁸ and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of his mouth, and wipe out by the appearance of his coming, ⁹ whose coming is in accordance with the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with every unrighteous deception against those who are perishing, in place of which they did not accept the love of the truth, so that they would be saved.

¹ Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, ² by the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, ³ who forbid marrying and insist on abstaining from foods that God created for sharing in with thankfulness by those who believe and who know the truth,

³ And he carried me away into the wilderness in the Spirit,* and I saw a woman seated on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.

¹² And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast. ¹³ These have one opinion, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.

¹⁶ And the ten horns that you saw and the beast, these will hate the prostitute and will make her desolate and naked, and they will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. ¹⁷ For God put into their hearts to carry out his purpose and to make _⌊a unanimous decision_⌋* and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. ¹⁸ And the woman that you saw is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.

²³ Whom have you taunted and blasphemed, and against whom have you raised up your voice and lifted your eyes upward?
To the holy one of Israel!

²¹ And he changes the times and the seasons, and he deposes kings and he sets up kings; he gives wisdom* to wise men and knowledge to men who know understanding.

²⁵ you will be driven away _⌊from human society_⌋* and _⌊you will dwell_⌋* with the animals* of the field, and you will be caused to graze grass like the oxen _⌊yourself_⌋,* and you will be watered with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time will pass over you until that you have acknowledged that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind, and _⌊to whom he wills_⌋* he gives it.

³² and you will be driven away from _⌊human society_⌋* and your dwelling will be with the animals* of the field and they will cause you to graze the grass like oxen, and seven times will pass over you, until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdom of humankind and that he gives it to whom he wills.'

²⁸ Then he will return to his land with many possessions, but his heart will be set against _⌊the holy covenant_⌋,* and he will take action and he will return to his land.

³⁰ And the ships of Kittim will come against him, and he will lose heart, and he will turn back, and he will be enraged _⌊against the holy covenant_⌋,* and he will take action, and he will turn back, and he will pay attention to those who forsake _⌊the holy covenant_⌋.* ³¹ And military forces from him _⌊will occupy_⌋* and will profane* the _⌊sanctuary stronghold_⌋,* and they will abolish the regular burnt offering, and they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.

³⁶ "Then the king will do _⌊as he pleases_⌋,* and he will exalt himself and will consider himself above any god, and he will speak horrendous things _⌊against_⌋* the God of gods, yet he will succeed until the period of anger is finished, for what is determined will be done. ³⁷ He will not pay respect to the gods of his ancestors,* or to the darling of women, and not to any god will he pay respect, for he will consider himself great over all gods. ³⁸ But _⌊instead_⌋* he will honor the god of fortresses, a god whom his ancestors* did not know. He will honor him with gold, and with silver, and with precious stones* and with costly gifts.

¹¹ And from the time the regular burnt offering is removed and the abomination that causes desolation _⌊is set up_⌋* there will be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. ¹² Happy is the one who is persevering, and attains to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony which they had, ¹⁰ and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "_⌊How long_⌋*, holy and true Lord, will you not judge and avenge our blood from those who live on the earth?"

² And leave out the courtyard outside of the temple, and do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will trample the holy city for forty two months. ³ And I will grant authority* to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for one thousand two hundred sixty days, dressed in sackcloth."

⁷ And when they have completed their testimony, the beast that comes up from the abyss will make war with them and will conquer them and will kill them. ⁸ And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which is called symbolically Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. ⁹ And those from peoples and tribes and languages and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and they will not allow their dead bodies to be placed in a tomb. ¹⁰ And those who live on the earth will rejoice over them, and will celebrate and will send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who live on the earth.

⁶ "But as for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain." ⁷ I will tell the decree; Yahweh said to me: "You are my son; today I have begotten you. ⁸ Ask from me and I will make the nations your heritage, and your possession the ends of the earth. ⁹ You will break them with an iron rod. Like a potter's vessel you will shatter them." ¹⁰ So then, O kings, be wise. Be warned, O rulers of the earth. ¹¹ Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling. ¹² Kiss the Son lest he be angry and you perish on the way, for his anger burns quickly. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

²⁷ All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh. All the families of the nations will worship before you.

⁹ All the nations that you have made will come and bow down* before you, O Lord, and glorify your name.

²³ And kings shall be your _⌊guardians_⌋,* and their queens your nurses. They shall bow down, _⌊faces_⌋* to the ground, to you, and they will lick up the dust of your feet. Then* you will know that I am Yahweh; those who await me shall not be ashamed. ²⁴ Can war-booty be taken from the mighty? or can a captive of a righteous* person be rescued? ²⁵ But thus says Yahweh:
"Indeed a captive of the mighty shall be taken, and the war-booty of the tyrant shall be rescued, for* I myself will dispute with your opponent, and I myself will save your children. ²⁶ And I will feed your oppressors their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their blood as with wine. Then* all flesh shall know that I am Yahweh, your savior and redeemer, the strong one of Jacob."

³ for you will spread out to the right and to the left. And your descendants* will be heir to the nations, and they will inhabit desolate towns.

¹¹ And your gates shall continually be open, day and night they shall not be shut, to bring you the wealth of nations, and their kings shall be led. ¹² For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you shall perish, and the nations shall be utterly devastated. ¹³ The glory of Lebanon shall come to you; the cypress, the plane, and the pine together, to glorify the place of my sanctuary, and I will do honor to the place of my feet. ¹⁴ And the children of those who oppressed you shall come to you bending low, and all those who treated you disrespectfully shall bow down at the soles of your feet. And they shall call you the city of Yahweh, Zion of the holy one of Israel. ¹⁵ Instead of you being forsaken and hated _⌊with no one passing through,_⌋* I will _⌊make_⌋* you an everlasting _⌊object of pride_⌋,* a joy of _⌊coming generations_⌋.* ¹⁶ And you shall suck the milk of nations, and suck the breast of kings, and you shall know that I am Yahweh your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Strong One of Jacob.

³⁴ "But at the end of _⌊that period_⌋,* I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and then my reason returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and _⌊the one who lives forever_⌋* I praised and I honored.
"For his sovereignty is an everlasting sovereignty, and his kingdom continues from generation to generation.

¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

¹⁹ Behold, at that time I will deal with all your oppressors; I will save the lame and gather the outcast. I will change* them from shame to glory and _⌊renown_⌋* throughout the whole world. ²⁰ At that time I will bring you in; at the time of my gathering you together. For I will make you _⌊renowned_⌋* and praised among all the nations of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes," says Yahweh.

⁹ And Yahweh will be king over all the earth; on that day Yahweh will be one and his name one.

¹⁶ And he has a name written on his outer garment and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords."

⁵ And night will not exist any longer, and they will not have need of the light of a lamp and the light* of the sun, because the Lord God will give light to them, and they will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*.

¹⁰ And he told it to his father and to his brothers. And his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Will I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the ground to you?"

⁶ Then his face changed and his thoughts terrified him, and _⌊his hip joints gave way_⌋* and _⌊his knees knocked together_⌋.*

¹⁷ And he came beside _⌊where I was standing_⌋,* and _⌊when he came_⌋* I became terrified and I fell prostrate on my face. And he said to me, "Understand, son of man,* that the vision is for the time of the end."

¹⁹ And he said, "Look, I am making known to you what will happen in the period of wrath,* for it refers to the appointed time of the end.

⁸ And I myself, Daniel, alone saw this great vision, and as a result _⌊no strength was left in me_⌋* and _⌊my complexion grew deathly pale_⌋,* and I did not retain any strength.

²⁷ _⌊And two of the kings_⌋* _⌊will bend their hearts_⌋* to evil. And at the _⌊same table_⌋* they will speak lies, but what is discussed will not succeed, for still an end is coming at the appointed time.

⁹ And he said, "Go, Daniel, for the words are secret and are sealed up until the time of the end.

¹³ But you, go on to the end and rest, and you will arise for your allotted inheritance at the end of the days."

¹⁵ And immediately the whole crowd, when they* saw him, were amazed, and ran up to him* and* greeted him.

¹⁹ But Mary treasured up all these words, pondering them* in her heart.

⁵¹ And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was submitting to them. And his mother treasured all these things in her heart.

⁴⁴ "_⌊You take these words to heart_⌋,* for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men."
