¹ Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not you my work in the Lord?

³ And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

⁵ And he said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute: it is hard for you to kick against the pricks.

¹⁵ But the Lord said unto him, Go your way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

¹⁷ And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto you on the way as you came, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

² As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

⁴ But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

¹⁴ Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they tear their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,

¹⁷ The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which show unto us the way of salvation. ¹⁸ And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

⁸ And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized. ⁹ Then spoke the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not your peace: ¹⁰ For I am with you, and no man shall set on you to hurt you: for I have many people in this city. ¹¹ And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

⁶ And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come close unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. ⁷ And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? ⁸ And I answered, Who are you, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you persecute.

¹⁴ And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you, that you should know his will, and see that Just One, and should hear the voice of his mouth. ¹⁵ For you shall be his witness unto all men of what you have seen and heard. ¹⁶ And now why do you tarry? arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. ¹⁷ And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance; ¹⁸ And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get you quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive your testimony concerning me. ¹⁹ And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on you: ²⁰ And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the clothing of them that slew him. ²¹ And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send you far hence unto the Gentiles.

¹¹ And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as you have testified of me in Jerusalem, so must you bear witness also at Rome.

¹⁶ But rise, and stand upon your feet: for I have appeared unto you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of these things which you have seen, and of those things in which I will appear unto you; ¹⁷ Delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send you, ¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

¹ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

¹³ For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify my office:

¹ Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

¹⁴ I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. ¹⁵ For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

² If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are you in the Lord. ³ Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,

¹⁹ For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

⁸ And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ⁹ For I am the least of the apostles, that am not suitable to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

¹ We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that you receive not the grace of God in vain.

⁵ For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

¹¹ I am become a fool in glorying; you have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. ¹² Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

¹ Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, ¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ¹⁷ Neither went I up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

⁷ But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; ⁸ (For he that wrought effectively in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

¹ Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

⁶ Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. ⁷ Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

¹¹ Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

¹ Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; ² In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; ³ But has in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
