¹⁹ For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a long journey:

¹¹ And when they had received it, they murmured against the owner of the house,

⁴³ But know this, that if the owner of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

⁴⁸ But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming;

³⁴ For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. ³⁵ Watch you therefore: for you know not when the Master of the house comes, at evening, or at midnight, or at the cock crowing, or in the morning: ³⁶ Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

⁴⁵ But if that servant says in his heart, My lord delays his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunk; ⁴⁶ The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in pieces, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
