⁷ Behold, I cry out concerning wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no justice.

²⁴ The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covers the faces of its judges; if not he, who then is it?

³² For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in trial.

³ Is it good unto you that you should oppress, that you should despise the work of your hands, and smile upon the counsel of the wicked?

¹⁵ If I am wicked, woe unto me; and if I am righteous, yet can I not lift up my head. I am full of disgrace; therefore see my affliction; ¹⁶ For it increases. You hunt me as a fierce lion: and again you show yourself awesome against me. ¹⁷ You renew your witnesses against me, and increase your indignation upon me; changes and war are ever with me.

¹⁵ Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will defend my own ways before him. ¹⁶ He also shall be my salvation: for a hypocrite shall not come before him. ¹⁷ Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears. ¹⁸ Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I shall be justified. ¹⁹ Who is he that will contend with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall die. ²⁰ Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from you. ²¹ Withdraw your hand far from me: and let not your dread make me afraid. ²² Then call, and I will answer: or let me speak, and you answer me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? make me know my transgression and my sin.

¹⁷ Not for any violence in my hands: also my prayer is pure. ¹⁸ O earth, cover not my blood, and let my cry have no place. ¹⁹ Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his neighbor!

²⁷ Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which you wrongfully imagine against me.

³ Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! ⁴ I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. ⁶ Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. ⁷ There the righteous might reason with him; so should I be delivered forever from my judge.

²⁰ I cry unto you, and you do not hear me: I stand up, and you regard me not.

³⁵ Oh that one would hear me! behold, my desire is, that the Almighty would answer me, and that my adversary had written a book. ³⁶ Surely I would take it upon my shoulder, and bind it as a crown to me.

⁵ For Job has said, I am righteous: and God has taken away my justice.

⁸ Will you also annul my judgment? will you condemn me, that you may be righteous?

² O my God, I cry in the daytime, but you hear not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

⁸ For since I spoke, I cried out, I cried violence and plunder; because the word of the LORD was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

⁸ Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.

² O LORD, how long shall I cry, and you will not hear! even cry out unto you of violence, and you will not save! ³ Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to behold trouble? for plundering and violence are before me: and there are those that raise up strife and contention.
