²⁹ Be yourselves afraid of the sword: for wrath brings the punishment of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.

⁷ Will you speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him? ⁸ Will you accept his person? will you contend for God? ⁹ Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocks another, do you so mock him? ¹⁰ He will surely reprove you, if you do secretly show partiality. ¹¹ Shall not his excellence make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

²² He believes not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for by the sword.

⁴ Will he reprove you for fear of you? will he enter with you into judgment?

⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁷ But the LORD shall endure forever: he has prepared his throne for judgment.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God who judges in the earth.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes: but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

¹ Judge not, that you be not judged. ² For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure you measure, it shall be measured to you again.

¹ Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. ² Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves judgment. ³ For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Will you then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and you shall have praise of the same: ⁴ For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.

¹¹ Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge. ¹² There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who are you that judge another?
