¹ Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

¹³ And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

¹⁶ You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

²¹ Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.

² Until the day in which he was taken up, after he through the Holy Spirit had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

²⁵ That he may take part in this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. ²⁶ And they cast their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
