¹² And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached Thee, O Lord.

¹⁵ And the LORD said unto him: 'Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.' And the LORD set a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him.

²¹ And if ye walk contrary unto Me, and will not hearken unto Me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

²⁸ then I will walk contrary unto you in fury; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

¹⁶ (44:17) For the voice of him that taunteth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.

¹⁰ How long, O God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme Thy name for ever?

¹⁸ Remember this, how the enemy hath reproached the LORD, and how a base people have blasphemed Thy name. ¹⁹ O deliver not the soul of Thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast; forget not the life of Thy poor for ever. ²⁰ Look upon the covenant; for the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence. ²¹ O let not the oppressed turn back in confusion; let the poor and needy praise Thy name. ²² Arise, O God, plead Thine own cause; remember Thy reproach all the day at the hand of the base man.

³¹ But if he be found, he must restore sevenfold, he must give all the substance of his house.

⁵ That say: 'Stand by thyself, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou'; these are a smoke in My nose, a fire that burneth all the day. ⁶ Behold, it is written before Me; I will not keep silence, except I have requited, yea, I will requite into their bosom, ⁷ Your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, that have offered upon the mountains, and blasphemed Me upon the hills; therefore will I first measure their wage into their bosom.

¹⁸ who showest mercy unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them; the great, the mighty God, the LORD of hosts is His name;

³⁸ give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
