¹⁴ (49:15) Like sheep they are appointed for the nether-world; death shall be their shepherd; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their form shall be for the nether-world to wear away, that there be no habitation for it.

²¹ Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.'

¹³ If I look for the nether-world as my house; if I have spread my couch in the darkness; ¹⁴ If I have said to corruption: 'Thou art my father', to the worm: 'Thou art my mother, and my sister';

¹³ They spend their days in prosperity, and peacefully they go down to the grave.

²⁶ They lie down alike in the dust, and the worm covereth them.

¹⁹ Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the nether-world those that have sinned. ²⁰ The womb forgetteth him; the worm feedeth sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and unrighteousness is broken as a tree.

²³ For I know that Thou wilt bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living.

¹⁷ (9:18) The wicked shall return to the nether-world, even all the nations that forget God.

⁵ (30:6) For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for a life-time; weeping may tarry for the night, but joy cometh in the morning.

³ But Thou, O LORD, knowest me, Thou seest me, and triest my heart toward Thee; pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

¹⁸ But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.'

²² until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High; and the time came, and the saints possessed the kingdom.

³ And let us know, eagerly strive to know the LORD, His going forth is sure as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.'

³ (3:21) And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I do make, saith the LORD of hosts.

³⁰ that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³⁶ Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long, We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

² Or know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

²⁶ And he that overcometh, and he that keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give authority over the nations; ²⁷ and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers, as I also have received of my Father;

⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them; and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand, and they lived, and reigned with Christ the thousand years. ⁵ And the rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection.
