⁶ To Him that spread forth the earth above the waters, for His mercy endureth for ever.

⁹ And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so.

⁷ He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth over nothing.

¹⁸ Canst thou with Him spread out the sky, which is strong as a molten mirror?

² For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

² Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain; ³ Who layest the beams of Thine upper chambers in the waters, who makest the clouds Thy chariot, who walkest upon the wings of the wind;

²² It is He that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;

⁵ Thus saith God the LORD, He that created the heavens, and stretched them forth, He that spread forth the earth and that which cometh out of it, He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

²⁴ Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb: I am the LORD, that maketh all things; that stretched forth the heavens alone; that spread abroad the earth by Myself;

¹² He that hath made the earth by His power, that hath established the world by His wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by His understanding;

¹ The burden of the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The saying of the LORD, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him:

⁵ For this they willfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst water, by the word of God, ⁶ by which means the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: ⁷ but the heavens that now are, and the earth, by his word have been stored up for fire, being reserved against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
