¹ If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassions,

¹ A Song of Ascents; of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

¹⁰ And the angel said unto them, Be not afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: ¹¹ for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

¹⁸ I will not leave you desolate; I come unto you.

²⁷ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

¹⁰ If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. ¹¹ These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy shall abide in you, and that your joy may be made full. ¹² This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.

²² And ye therefore now have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you. ²³ And in that day ye shall ask me no question. Verily, verily, I say unto you, if ye shall ask anything of the Father, he will give it you in my name. ²⁴ Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.

¹³ But now I come to thee, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

⁴⁶ And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

³² And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them said that aught of their possessions was his own, but they had all things common.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² through whom also we have had our access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

⁵ and hope putteth not to shame, because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Spirit which was given unto us.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwelleth in you, he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwelleth in you. ¹² So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: ¹³ for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die, but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. ¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. ¹⁵ For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear, but ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ¹⁶ The Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:

²⁶ And in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity; for we know not how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered,

¹² And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles, On him shall the Gentiles hope. ¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁶ Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

¹⁹ Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own, ²⁰ for ye were bought with a price; glorify God therefore in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

¹³ For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free, and were all made to drink into one Spirit.

³¹ I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ. ⁶ But whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation, which worketh in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; and our hope for you is stedfast. Whether we are comforted, it is for your comfort,

¹⁴ But thanks be unto God, who always leadeth us in triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest through us the savor of his knowledge in every place.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen.

⁶ And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹³ in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,—in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ who is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God's own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father. ¹⁹ So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, ²⁰ being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone, ²¹ in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord, ²² in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling,

³⁰ And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye were sealed unto the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and railing, be put away from you, with all malice: ³² and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, even as God also in Christ forgave us.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I long after you all in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

³ for we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:

² that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, even of the Father and of Christ,

¹² Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering,

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, ¹⁷ comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ; Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, ye have been put to grief in manifold trials, ⁷ that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and honor and unto glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ: ⁸ whom not having known ye love, on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from a pure heart fervently: ²³ having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

²⁴ And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and every one that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love.

¹² No man hath beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us:

¹⁶ And we know and have believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abideth in love abideth in God, and God abideth in him.
