⁹ (Now this, He ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

⁵ And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

²⁰ And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount; and the LORD called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

²⁷ for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father. ²⁸ I came out from the Father, and am come into the world; again, I leave the world, and go unto the Father.

¹⁷ Jesus saith to her, Touch me not, for I am not yet ascended unto my Father; but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

³⁴ For David ascended not into the heavens; but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, ³⁵ Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet. ³⁶ Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.

⁷ Thou madest him a little lower than the angels, Thou crownedst him with glory and honor,

⁹ But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man.
