¹¹ Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

¹² I have not gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured up the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. ³ And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper.

⁹⁷ MEM. O how love I Thy law! It is my meditation all the day.

¹⁰⁰ I understand more than mine elders, because I have keep Thy precepts.

¹⁴⁸ Mine eyes forestalled the night-watches, that I might meditate in Thy word.

⁵ That the wise man may hear, and increase in learning, and the man of understanding may attain unto wise counsels;

¹ My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee; ² So that thou make thine ear attend unto wisdom, and thy heart incline to discernment; ³ Yea, if thou call for understanding, and lift up thy voice for discernment; ⁴ If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; ⁵ Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

¹⁰ Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.

⁹ Give to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

²⁰ for instruction and for testimony?' - Surely they will speak according to this word, wherein there is no light. -

¹⁶ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read; no one of these shall be missing, none shall want her mate; for My mouth it hath commanded, and the breath thereof it hath gathered them.

²¹ Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed; how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto Me?

²³ And he that was sown upon the good ground, this is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it, who verily beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

²⁹ But Abraham saith, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them.

⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. ⁴⁶ And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. ⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! ⁴⁸ Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. ⁴⁹ Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel.

²¹ But he that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God.

³⁹ Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life, and these are they which bear witness of me,

⁴¹ They then that gladly received his word were baptized; and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls.

³³ Forthwith therefore I sent to thee, and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all things that have been commanded thee of God.

¹ Now the apostles and the brethren that were in Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

¹ Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

⁶ And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

¹³ And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us the word of the message, even the word of God, ye accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

¹⁰ and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

¹⁵ And that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ Every scripture, inspired of God, is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. ¹⁷ That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

²¹ Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

¹⁰ Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: ¹¹ searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them. ¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven, which things angel desire to look into.

² as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation,

¹⁹ And we have the word of prophecy made more sure, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts: ²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation. ²¹ For no prophecy ever came by the will of man; but holy men of God spake, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

⁵ They are of the world; therefore speak they as of the world, and the world heareth them. ⁶ We are of God; he that knoweth God heareth us, he who is not of God heareth us not. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
