⁸ The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the righteous is acceptable vnto him.

¹⁷ I knowe also, my God, that thou tryest the heart, and hast pleasure in righteousnesse: I haue offred willingly in the vprightnesse of mine heart all these things: now also haue I seene thy people which are found here, to offer vnto thee willingly with ioy.

¹ The prayer of Dauid. Heare the right, O Lord, consider my crye: hearken vnto my prayer of lips vnfained.

²⁹ The Lord is farre off from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more when he bringeth it with a wicked minde?

⁹ He that turneth away his eare from hearing the Law, euen his prayer shalbe abominable.

¹ Be not rash with thy mouth, nor let thine heart be hastie to vtter a thing before God: for God is in the heauens, and thou art on the earth: therefore let thy wordes be fewe.

¹⁴ My doue, that art in the holes of ye rocke, in the secret places of the staires, shewe mee thy sight, let mee heare thy voyce: for thy voyce is sweete, and thy sight comely.

¹⁰ Heare the worde of the Lord, O princes of Sodom: hearken vnto the Law of our God, O people of Gomorah. ¹¹ What haue I to doe with the multitude of your sacrifices, sayth the Lord? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and of the fat of fed beasts: and I desire not the blood of bullocks, nor of lambs, nor of goates. ¹² When ye come to appeare before me, who required this of your hands to tread in my courts? ¹³ Bring no more oblations, in vaine: incense is an abomination vnto me: I can not suffer your newe moones, nor Sabbaths, nor solemne dayes (it is iniquitie) nor solemne assemblies. ¹⁴ My soule hateth your newe moones and your appointed feastes: they are a burden vnto me: I am weary to beare them. ¹⁵ And when you shall stretch out your hands, I wil hide mine eyes from you: and though ye make many prayers, I wil not heare: for your hands are full of blood.

⁸ For I the Lord loue iudgement and hate robberie for burnt offering, and I wil direct their worke in trueth, and will make an euerlasting couenant with them.

³ He that killeth a bullocke, is as if he slewe a man: he that sacrificeth a sheepe, as if he cut off a dogges necke: he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swines blood: he that remembreth incense, as if he blessed an idole: yea, they haue chosen their owne wayes, and their soule deliteth in their abominations.

²⁰ To what purpose bringest thou mee incense from Sheba, and sweete calamus from a farre countrey? Your burnt offerings are not pleasant, nor your sacrifices sweete vnto me.

²¹ Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Put your burnt offerings vnto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. ²² For I spake not vnto your fathers, nor commanded them, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offrings and sacrifices. ²³ But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voyce, and I will be your God, and yee shalbe my people: and walke yee in all the wayes which I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.

²¹ I hate and abhorre your feast dayes, and I wil not smelll in your solemne assemblies. ²² Though ye offer me burnt offrings and meat offrings, I wil not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offrings of your fat beasts.

²⁴ God is a Spirite, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and trueth.
