⁴ The sluggard lusteth, but his soule hath nought: but the soule of the diligent shall haue plentie.

¹⁰ Who can tell the dust of Iaakob, and the nomber of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last ende be like his.

¹⁴ They shall still bring foorth fruite in their age: they shall be fat and flourishing,

² And cause thine eares to hearken vnto wisdome, and encline thine heart to vnderstanding, ³ (For if thou callest after knowledge, and cryest for vnderstanding: ⁴ If thou seekest her as siluer, and searchest for her as for treasures, ⁵ Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lord, and finde the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the Lord giueth wisdome, out of his mouth commeth knowledge and vnderstanding. ⁷ He preserueth the state of the righteous: he is a shielde to them that walke vprightly, ⁸ That they may keepe the wayes of iudgement: and he preserueth the way of his Saintes) ⁹ Then shalt thou vnderstand righteousnes, and iudgement, and equitie, and euery good path.

³⁴ For he that findeth me, findeth life, and shall obteine fauour of the Lord.

⁴ A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.

²⁵ The liberall person shall haue plentie: and he that watereth, shall also haue raine.

¹¹ He that tilleth his lande, shalbe satisfied with bread: but he that followeth the idle, is destitute of vnderstanding.

²⁴ The hand of the diligent shall beare rule: but the idle shalbe vnder tribute.

¹³ The slouthfull man sayth, A lyon is in the way: a lyon is in the streetes.

²⁵ He that is of a proude heart, stirreth vp strife: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shall be fatte.

¹¹ And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfie thy soule in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watred garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters faile not.

²⁷ Labour not for ye meate which perisheth, but for the meate that endureth vnto euerlasting life, which the Sonne of man shall giue vnto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

¹¹ And we desire that euery one of you shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope vnto the ende,

⁵ Therefore giue euen all diligence thereunto: ioyne moreouer vertue with your faith: and with vertue, knowledge: ⁶ And with knowledge, temperance: and with temperance, patience: and with patience, godlines: ⁷ And with godlines, brotherly kindnes: and with brotherly kindnes, loue. ⁸ For if these things be among you, and abound, they will make you that ye neither shalbe idle, nor vnfruitfull in the acknowledging of our Lord Iesus Christ: ⁹ For he that hath not these things, is blinde, and can not see farre off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his olde sinnes. ¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, giue rather diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall. ¹¹ For by this meanes an entring shalbe ministred vnto you aboundantly into the euerlasting kingdome of our Lord and Sauiour Iesus Christ.
