¹⁴ How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not, the cause is before him, and thou waitest for him!

⁹ The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

¹⁷ Let me not he ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in Sheol.

¹⁶ Thy fierce wrath is gone over me; thy terrors have cut me off.

¹¹ I said in my haste, All men are a lie.

⁵ Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

¹⁰ I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years. ¹¹ I said, I shall not see the LORD, [even] the LORD in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world. ¹² Mine age is removed, and is carried away from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have rolled up like a weaver my life; he will cut me off from the loom: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.

¹⁴ But Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.

⁵⁴ Waters flowed over mine head; I said, I am cut off. ⁵⁵ I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the lowest dungeon.

¹¹ Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.

⁴ And I said, am cast out from before thine eyes; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

⁷ When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. ⁸ They that regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy. ⁹ But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
