¹ Praise ye the LORD. I will give thanks unto the LORD with my whole heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation. ² The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. ³ His work is honour and majesty: and his righteousness endureth for ever. ⁴ He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. ⁵ He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. ⁶ He hath shewed his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. ⁷ The works of his hands are truth and judgment; all his precepts are sure. ⁸ They are established for ever and ever, they are done in truth and uprightness. ⁹ He hath sent redemption unto his people; he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. ¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do thereafter: his praise endureth for ever.

¹⁰ Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, O LORD, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. ¹¹ Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own. ¹⁷ I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness, As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. ¹⁸ O LORD, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people; and prepare their heart unto thee: ¹⁹ and give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for the which I have made provision. ²⁰ And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.

³ And the king turned his face, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood. ⁴ And he said, Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hands fulfilled it, saying,

²⁶ And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Beracah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of that place was called The valley of Beracah, unto this day. ²⁷ Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies. ²⁸ And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD.

²⁵ Of thee cometh my praise in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

¹⁸ I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

⁹ I have published righteousness in the great congregation; lo, I will not refrain my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. ¹⁰ I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

⁵ And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.

⁷ A God very terrible in the council of the holy ones, and to be feared above all them that are round about him?

¹ A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, [bless] his holy name.

¹ Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

⁴⁸ Blessed be the LORD, the God or Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

³² Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the seat of the elders.

³ I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the peoples: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

³⁰ I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

¹ Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the assembly of the saints.

⁹ Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvelous things without number:

¹⁰ Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, marvelous things without number.

¹² He stirreth up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through Rahab. ¹³ By his spirit the heavens are garnished; his hand hath pierced the swift serpent. ¹⁴ Lo, these are but the outskirts of his ways: and how small a whisper do we hear of him! but the thunder of his power who can understand?

⁷ He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men whom he hath made may know [it].

¹ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, ² Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? ³ Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. ⁴ Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. ⁵ Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who stretched the line upon it? ⁶ Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; ⁷ When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? ⁸ [Or who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb; ⁹ When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, ¹⁰ And prescribed for it my decree, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? ¹² Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days [began, and] caused the dayspring to know its place; ¹³ That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it? ¹⁴ It is changed as clay under the seal; and [all things] stand forth as a garment: ¹⁵ And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm is broken. ¹⁶ Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep? ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? or hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death? ¹⁸ Hast thou comprehended the breadth of the earth? declare, if thou knowest it all. ¹⁹ Where is the way to the dwelling of light, and as for darkness, where is the place thereof; ²⁰ That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest discern the paths to the house thereof? ²¹ [Doubtless], thou knowest, for thou wast then born, and the number of thy days is great! ²² Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, or hast thou seen the treasuries of the hail, ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ By what way is the light parted, or the east wind scattered upon the earth? ²⁵ Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, or a way for the lightning of the thunder; ²⁶ To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; ²⁷ To satisfy the waste and desolate [ground]; and to cause the tender grass to spring forth? ²⁸ Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? ²⁹ Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? ³⁰ The waters are hidden as [with] stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. ³¹ Canst thou bind the cluster of the Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? ³² Canst thou lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? or canst thou guide the Bear with her train? ³³ Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth? ³⁴ Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee? ³⁵ Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are? ³⁶ Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the mind? ³⁷ Who can number the clouds by wisdom? or who can pour out the bottles of heaven, ³⁸ When the dust runneth into a mass, and the clods cleave fast together? ³⁹ Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lioness? or satisfy the appetite of the young lions, ⁴⁰ When they couch in their dens, [and] abide in the covert to lie in wait? ⁴¹ Who provideth for the raven his food, when his young ones cry unto God, [and] wander for lack of meat?

¹ Canst thou draw out leviathan with a fish hook? or press down his tongue with a cord? ² Canst thou put a rope into his nose? or pierce his jaw through with a hook? ³ Will he make many supplications unto thee? or will he speak soft words unto thee? ⁴ Will he make a covenant with thee, that thou shouldest take him for a servant for ever? ⁵ Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? ⁶ Shall the bands [of fishermen] make traffic of him? shall they part him among the merchants? ⁷ Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons, or his head with fish spears? ⁸ Lay thine hand upon him; remember the battle, and do so no more. ⁹ Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? ¹⁰ None is so fierce that he dare stir him up: who then is he that can stand before me? ¹¹ Who hath first given unto me, that I should repay him? [whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine. ¹² I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his comely proportion. ¹³ Who can strip off his outer garment? who shall come within his double bridle? ¹⁴ Who can open the doors of his face? round about his teeth is terror. ¹⁵ His strong scales are [his] pride, shut up together [as with] a close seal. ¹⁶ One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. ¹⁷ They are joined one to another; they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. ¹⁸ His neesings flash forth light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. ¹⁹ Out of his mouth go burning torches, and sparks of fire leap forth. ²⁰ Out of his nostrils a smoke goeth, as of a seething pot and [burning] rushes. ²¹ His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth forth from his mouth. ²² In his neck abideth strength, and terror danceth before him. ²³ The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm upon him; they cannot be moved. ²⁴ His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, firm as the nether millstone. ²⁵ When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: by reason of consternation they are beside themselves. ²⁶ If one lay at him with the sword, it cannot avail; nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft. ²⁷ He counteth iron as straw, [and] brass as rotten wood. ²⁸ The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. ²⁹ Clubs are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the rushing of the javelin. ³⁰ His underparts are [like] sharp potsherds: he spreadeth [as it were] a threshing wain upon the mire. ³¹ He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like ointment. ³² He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. ³³ Upon earth there is not his like, that is made without fear. ³⁴ He beholdeth every thing that is high: he is king over all the sons of pride.

¹¹ I will make mention of the deeds of the LORD; for I will remember thy wonders of old. ¹² I will meditate also upon all thy work, and muse on thy doings.

⁴ For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. ⁵ How great are thy works, O LORD! thy thoughts are very deep.

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

³⁴ Let my meditation be sweet unto him: I will rejoice in the LORD.

⁴³ Whoso is wise shall give heed to these things, and they shall consider the mercies of the LORD.

¹⁴ I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: wonderful are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

⁵ I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy doings: I muse on the work of thy hands.

¹⁶ Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, seeing he hath no understanding?

¹ He that separateth himself seeketh [his own] desire, and rageth against all sound wisdom. ² A fool hath no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may reveal itself.

¹⁴ So shalt thou know wisdom to be unto thy soul: if thou hast found it, then shall there be a reward, and thy hope shall not be cut off.

¹¹ He hath made every thing beautiful in its time: also he hath set the world in their heart, yet so that man cannot find out the work that God hath done from the beginning even to the end.

¹² Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

¹⁷ Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and by thy stretched out arm; there is nothing too hard for thee: ¹⁸ which shewest mercy unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the great, the mighty God, the LORD of hosts is his name: ¹⁹ great in counsel, and mighty in work: whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men; to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

³ How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

²⁸ And even as they refused to have God in [their] knowledge, God gave them up unto a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

⁶ For the mind of the flesh is death; but the mind of the spirit is life and peace:

¹⁹ and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

⁷ that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus: ⁸ for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: ⁹ not of works, that no man should glory. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

¹⁰ Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that [should come] unto you: ¹¹ searching what [time] or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them. ¹² To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Ghost sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are thy ways, thou King of the ages.

⁶ Thy right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power, Thy right hand, O LORD, dasheth in pieces the enemy. ⁷ And in the greatness of thine excellency thou overthrowest them that rise up against thee: Thou sendest forth thy wrath, it consumeth them as stubble.

¹¹ Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

¹⁷ But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

³ Wealth and riches are in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

⁹ He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; his righteousness endureth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.

¹⁴² Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is truth.

¹⁴⁴ Thy testimonies are righteous for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live.

⁴ One generation shall laud thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. ⁵ Of the glorious majesty of thine honour, and of thy wondrous works, will I meditate.

¹⁰ All thy works shall give thanks unto thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. ¹¹ They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power; ¹² To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

¹⁷ The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and gracious in all his works.

⁵ My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the peoples; the isles shall wait for me, and on mine arm shall they trust. ⁶ Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

⁸ For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation unto all generations.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved: ⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, ⁸ which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

¹⁰ to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God,

¹² saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb that hath been slain to receive the power, and riches, and wisdom, and might, and honour, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every created thing which is in the heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and on the sea, and all things that are in them, heard I saying, Unto him that sitteth on the throne, and unto the Lamb, [be] the blessing, and the honour, and the glory, and the dominion, for ever and ever. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? ²⁷ that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

¹⁴ And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: ¹⁵ and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.

⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, the LORD, a God full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy and truth; ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin: and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

⁹ Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes saw, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but make them known unto thy children and thy children’s children;

¹⁹ Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach thou it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. ²⁰ For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, flowing with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant. ²¹ And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are come upon them, that this song shall testify before them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware. ²² So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. ²³ And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee. ²⁴ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, ²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, ²⁶ Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. ²⁷ For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? ²⁸ Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. ³⁰ And Moses spake in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.

⁶ that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? ⁷ then ye shall say unto them, Because the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

²¹ And he spake unto the children of Israel, saying, When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean these stones? ²² Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. ²³ For the LORD your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were passed over: ²⁴ that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty; that they may fear the LORD your God for ever.

⁴ We will not hide them from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wondrous works that he hath done. ⁵ For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: ⁶ That the generation to come might know [them], even the children which should be born; who should arise and tell [them] to their children: ⁷ That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: ⁸ And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

³⁸ But he, being full of compassion, forgave [their] iniquity, and destroyed [them] not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

⁴ Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: [he is] gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

⁷ I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, [and] the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us; and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

¹⁸ Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. ¹⁹ He will turn again and have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot: and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

²⁰ And the law came in beside, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly: ²¹ that, as sin reigned in death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²⁴ and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, This is my body, which is for you: this do in remembrance of me. ²⁵ In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me. ²⁶ For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye proclaim the Lord’s death till he come.

¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

⁵ and said, I beseech thee, O LORD, the God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments:

⁹ O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. ¹⁰ The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

³ Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and follow after faithfulness.

³⁴ My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

⁸ He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

⁴⁵ And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: his bread shall be given [him]; his waters shall be sure.

⁴ And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments;

²⁶ Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they? ²⁷ And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto his stature? ²⁸ And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: ²⁹ yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith? ³¹ Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? ³² For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. ³³ But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

⁷² To shew mercy towards our fathers, And to remember his holy covenant;

³⁰ For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

³² For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and from the one end of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been [any such thing] as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it? ³³ Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live? ³⁴ Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of [another] nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? ³⁵ Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him. ³⁶ Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he made thee to see his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire. ³⁷ And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt; ³⁸ to drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as at this day.

¹⁴ And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, the priests that bare the ark of the covenant being before the people; ¹⁵ and when they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brink of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all its banks all the time of harvest,) ¹⁶ that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan: and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over Jordan.

²⁰ So the people shouted, and [the priests] blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

¹³ And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stayed in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. ¹⁴ And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

⁸ Ask of me, and I will give thee the nations for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

² Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.

¹² Marvelous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. ¹³ He clave the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. ¹⁴ In the day-time also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. ¹⁵ He clave rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the depths. ¹⁶ He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. ¹⁷ Yet went they on still to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert. ¹⁸ And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. ¹⁹ Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness? ²⁰ Behold, he smote the rock, that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed; can he give bread also? will he provide flesh for his people? ²¹ Therefore the LORD heard, and was wroth: and a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also went up against Israel; ²² Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation. ²³ Yet he commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven; ²⁴ And he rained down manna upon them to eat, and gave them of the corn of heaven. ²⁵ Man did eat the bread of the mighty: he sent them meat to the full. ²⁶ He caused the east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he guided the south wind. ²⁷ He rained flesh also upon them as the dust, and winged fowl as the sand of the seas: ²⁸ And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. ²⁹ So they did eat, and were well filled; and he gave them that they lusted after. ³⁰ They were not estranged from their lust, their meat was yet in their mouths, ³¹ When the anger of God went up against them, and slew of the fattest of them, and smote down the young men of Israel. ³² For all this they sinned still, and believed not in his wondrous works. ³³ Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in terror. ³⁴ When he slew them, then they inquired after him: and they returned and sought God early. ³⁵ And they remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their redeemer. ³⁶ But they flattered him with their mouth, and lied unto him with their tongue. ³⁷ For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant. ³⁸ But he, being full of compassion, forgave [their] iniquity, and destroyed [them] not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. ³⁹ And he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again. ⁴⁰ How oft did they rebel against him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! ⁴¹ And they turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel. ⁴² They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary. ⁴³ How he set his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan; ⁴⁴ And turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, that they could not drink. ⁴⁵ He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust. ⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. ⁴⁸ He gave over their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. ⁴⁹ He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, a band of angels of evil. ⁵⁰ He made a path for his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; ⁵¹ And smote all the firstborn in Egypt, the chief of their strength in the tents of Ham: ⁵² But he led forth his own people like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. ⁵³ And he led them safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. ⁵⁴ And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. ⁵⁵ He drove out the nations also before them, and allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. ⁵⁶ Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and kept not his testimonies; ⁵⁷ But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. ⁵⁸ For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. ⁵⁹ When God heard [this], he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: ⁶⁰ So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; ⁶¹ And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the adversary’s hand. ⁶² He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. ⁶³ Fire devoured their young men; and their maidens had no marriage-song. ⁶⁴ Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. ⁶⁵ Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. ⁶⁶ And he smote his adversaries backward: he put them to a perpetual reproach. ⁶⁷ Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; ⁶⁸ But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. ⁶⁹ And he built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which he hath established for ever. ⁷⁰ He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: ⁷¹ From following the ewes that give suck he brought him, to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. ⁷² So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.

⁸ Thou broughtest a vine out of Egypt: thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it.

²⁷ They set among them his signs, and wonders in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his words. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs, in the chambers of their kings. ³¹ He spake, and there came swarms of flies, and lice in all their borders. ³² He gave them hail for rain, [and] flaming fire in their land. ³³ He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their borders. ³⁴ He spake, and the locust came, and the cankerworm, and that without number, ³⁵ And did eat up every herb in their land, and did eat up the fruit of their ground. ³⁶ He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength. ³⁷ And he brought them forth with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among his tribes. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen upon them. ³⁹ He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night. ⁴⁰ They asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. ⁴¹ He opened the rock, and waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places [like] a river. ⁴² For he remembered his holy word, [and] Abraham his servant. ⁴³ And he brought forth his people with joy, [and] his chosen with singing. ⁴⁴ And he gave them the lands of the nations; and they took the labour of the peoples in possession: ⁴⁵ That they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise ye the LORD.

⁴ The Rock, his work is perfect; For all his ways are judgment: A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, Just and right is he.

⁷ The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

¹⁴ Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne: mercy and truth go before thy face.

⁵ Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for evermore.

³ He hath remembered his mercy and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

⁸⁶ All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.

¹⁵¹ Thou art nigh, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.

¹⁶⁰ The sum of thy word is truth; and every one of thy righteous judgments [endureth] for ever.

¹³ if we are faithless, he abideth faithful; for he cannot deny himself.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are thy ways, thou King of the ages. ⁴ Who shall not fear, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy; for all the nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy righteous acts have been made manifest.

⁹ The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true, [and] righteous altogether.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love thy commandments above gold, yea, above fine gold. ¹²⁸ Therefore I esteem all [thy] precepts concerning all [things] to be right; [and] I hate every false way.

⁸ The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

¹⁸ For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.

³¹ Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.

¹² So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.

¹³ Thou in thy mercy hast led the people which thou hast redeemed: Thou hast guided them in thy strength to thy holy habitation.

¹⁵ And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing today.

⁵⁸ If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

⁵ Verily my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he maketh it not to grow.

¹⁵ Remember his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

³ Let them praise thy great and terrible name: holy is he.

⁵ Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool: holy is he.

⁹ Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

⁵ He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

⁷ O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. ⁸ And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

³ And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

⁶ Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

³ Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

²⁰ Thus saith the LORD: If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their season; ²¹ then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name is great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense is offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the Gentiles, saith the LORD of hosts.

² If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the LORD of hosts, then will I send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.

⁴⁹ For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is his name.

⁶⁸ Blessed [be] the Lord, the God of Israel; For he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people,

¹⁵ Brethren, I speak after the manner of men: Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet when it hath been confirmed, no one maketh it void, or addeth thereto. ¹⁶ Now to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. ¹⁷ Now this I say; A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, doth not disannul, so as to make the promise of none effect.

⁷ in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

¹⁴ which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of [God’s] own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.

¹² nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption.

²⁰ Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of the eternal covenant, [even] our Lord Jesus,

¹⁸ knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers; ¹⁹ but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, [even the blood] of Christ: ²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,

⁸ And the four living creatures, having each one of them six wings, are full of eyes round about and within: and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the Lord God, the Almighty, which was and which is and which is to come.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and didst purchase unto God with thy blood [men] of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,

⁶ Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest. ⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

²⁸ And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also doth not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

² Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

⁷ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: [but] the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

⁴ So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

¹⁰ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

¹³ [This is] the end of the matter; all hath been heard: fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole [duty] of man.

²¹ His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

²³ His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

⁴⁴ How can ye believe, which receive glory one of another, and the glory that [cometh] from the only God ye seek not?

⁴³ for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.

¹⁷ If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.

⁷ to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life:

²⁹ but he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

⁵ Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.

¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is for the moment, worketh for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

¹⁵ and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness: ¹⁷ that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

⁷ that the proof of your faith, [being] more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, might be found unto praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ:

¹⁴ Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right [to come] to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
