⁴² saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

⁸ I delight to do thy will, O my God; yea, thy law is within my heart.

¹⁷ Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.

²² Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

¹⁵ For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto me: Take the cup of the wine of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

²² But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink the cup that I am about to drink? They say unto him, We are able.

³⁹ And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

⁴² Again a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.

⁴⁴ And he left them again, and went away, and prayed a third time, saying again the same words.

³⁶ And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; remove this cup from me: howbeit not what I will, but what thou wilt.

¹⁷ And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: ¹⁸ for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. ¹⁹ And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. ²⁰ And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, [even] that which is poured out for you.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

³⁰ I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

³⁸ For I am come down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

²⁷ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorify thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, [saying], I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

¹¹ Jesus therefore said unto Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath: the cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

⁷ Then said I, Lo, I am come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do thy will, O God. ⁸ Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then hath he said, Lo, I am come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
