¹⁰ He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, unto the confines of light and darkness.

²² While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

⁸ [Or who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb; ⁹ When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, ¹⁰ And prescribed for it my decree, and set bars and doors, ¹¹ And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

⁷ He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the deeps in storehouses.

⁶ Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a vesture; the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away; ⁸ They went up by the mountains, they went down by the valleys, unto the place which thou hadst founded for them. ⁹ Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

²⁹ When he gave to the sea its bound, that the waters should not transgress his commandment: when he marked out the foundations of the earth:

⁹ For this is [as] the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

²² Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it? and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it.
