¹⁹ When thou reapest thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

⁹ And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest. ¹⁰ And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

¹⁰ Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy work, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.

²⁰ When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow. ²¹ When thou gatherest [the grapes of] thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

¹³ and thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have put away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandment which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed any of thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:

¹⁶ And also pull out some for her from the bundles, and leave it, and let her glean, and rebuke her not.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the poor from [their] desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail; ¹⁷ Or have eaten my morsel alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof; ¹⁸ (Nay, from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and I have been her guide from my mother’s womb;) ¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or that the needy had no covering; ²⁰ If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep; ²¹ If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my help in the gate: ²² Then let my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

¹² So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: and he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

⁹ He hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; his righteousness endureth for ever: his horn shall be exalted with honour.

²⁴ There is that scattereth, and increaseth yet more; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] only to want. ²⁵ The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

²¹ He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.

¹⁷ He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD, and his good deed will he pay him again.

⁸ But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and in liberal things shall he continue.

⁷ Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? ⁸ Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy healing shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rearward. ⁹ Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly; ¹⁰ and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday: ¹¹ and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

³⁵ But love your enemies, and do [them] good, and lend, never despairing; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Most High: for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.

³⁸ give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.

¹³ But when thou makest a feast, bid the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: ¹⁴ and thou shalt be blessed; because they have not [wherewith] to recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed in the resurrection of the just.

⁶ But this [I say], He that soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. ⁷ [Let] each man [do] according as he hath purposed in his heart; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound unto you; that ye, having always all sufficiency in everything, may abound unto every good work:

¹⁷ But whoso hath the world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ [My] little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth. ¹⁹ Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him,
