⁴ Or dost thou despise the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, ignoring that the goodness of God leads thee to repentance?

⁶ And as the LORD passed by before him, he proclaimed, I AM, I AM strong, merciful, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth,

¹⁸ The LORD is longsuffering and of great mercy, letting go of iniquity and transgression and absolving, but by no means absolving the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons unto the third and fourth generations.

²⁷ He looks upon men, and if any say, I have sinned and perverted that which was right, and it did not profit me; ²⁸ God will ransom his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light. ²⁹ ¶ Behold, God does all these things two and three times with man, ³⁰ to turn back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.

¹¹ He has said in his heart, God has forgotten; he hides his face; he will never see it.

³⁸ But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; many a time turned he his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath.

⁵ For thou, Lord, art good and ready to forgive and plenteous in mercy unto all those that call upon thee.

¹⁵ But thou, O Lord, art a merciful and gracious God, longsuffering and plenteous in mercy and truth.

²⁴ O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom thou hast made them all; the earth is full of thy riches.

³ If thou, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall endure? ⁴ Therefore there is forgiveness close to thee, that thou may be feared.

¹¹ Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

¹⁸ ¶ And therefore will the LORD wait for you, that he may have mercy on you, and therefore will he be exalted having mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all those that wait for him.

⁷ ¶ I will mention the mercies of the LORD and the praises of the LORD according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us and the greatness of his goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies and according to the multitude of his mercies. ⁸ For he said, Surely they are my people, sons that do not lie: and he was their Saviour. ⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his face saved them: with his love and with his clemency he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of the age. ¹⁰ But they were rebels and angered his holy Spirit; therefore, he was turned to be their enemy, and he himself fought against them.

¹² ¶ Go and proclaim these words toward the north wind and say, Return, thou rebellious Israel, said the LORD and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you; for I am merciful, said the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. ¹³ Only acknowledge thine iniquity that thou hast rebelled against the LORD thy God and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not heard my voice, said the LORD.

²² Return, ye rebellious sons, and I will heal your rebellion. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God. ²³ Truly the hills are vanity, the multitude of mountains; truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.

¹⁰ and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are free to do all these abominations?

²² Son of man, what is that saying that ye have in the land of Israel that saith, The days shall be prolonged, and every vision shall fail? ²³ Tell them therefore, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: I will make this saying to cease, and they shall not repeat this as a saying in Israel but say unto them, Those days have drawn nigh, and the fulfillment of every vision.

⁶³ that thou may remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, said the Lord GOD.

⁵ afterward the sons of Israel shall return, and they shall seek the LORD their God and David their king; and they shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the end of the days.

² And he prayed unto the LORD and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was this not what I said when I was yet in my country? Therefore I hastened to flee unto Tarshish, for I knew that thou art a gracious God and full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy, and dost repent when thou art come to take punishment.

⁴⁸ But and if that evil slave shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming, ⁴⁹ and shall begin to smite his fellowslaves and even to eat and drink with the drunken,

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have abundance of bread, and I perish here with hunger! ¹⁸ I will arise and go to my father and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee ¹⁹ and am no longer worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants.

⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. ⁶ And he made haste and came down and received him joyfully. ⁷ And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. ⁸ Then Zacchaeus stood and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

²⁵ whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God,

¹ ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

¹⁵ What then? shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? No, in no wise.

²² What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much meekness the vessels of wrath, prepared for death, ²³ and making known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he has prepared unto glory?

¹² ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

²² Behold, therefore, the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity, but toward thee, goodness if thou continue in his goodness; otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

³³ ¶ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments and his ways past finding out!

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace,

¹⁸ illuminating the eyes of your understanding, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints

⁴ ¶ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great charity with which he loved us,

⁷ That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of the Christ

¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man,

¹⁹ But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

²⁷ to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery in the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

² that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in charity and in all the riches of the fulfilled understanding to know the mystery of the God and Father and of the Christ;

¹⁶ But for this cause I was received unto mercy that in me first, Jesus Christ might show forth all clemency, for an example to those who should hereafter believe in him for eternal life.

¹⁷ Charge those that are rich in this world, that they not be highminded, not placing their hope in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;

⁴ But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out abundantly in us through Jesus, the Christ, our Saviour;

²⁰ which in the time past were disobedient, when once the patience of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being made ready, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

³ ¶ knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts

⁹ ¶ The Lord is not late concerning his promise, as some count lateness, but is patient with us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

¹⁵ And have as saving health the patience of our Lord, even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and call; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me.
