⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I always remember you in my prayers,

²³ Moreover as for me, in no wise should I sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you, but I will teach you the good and the right way.

¹⁹ Certainly my witness is even now in the heavens, and my record is on high.

¹ ¶ The beginning of the gospel of Jesus, the Christ, Son of God,

¹ ¶ And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that it behooves us always to pray and not faint,

²³ But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeks such to worship him. ²⁴ God is a Spirit and those that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

²⁶ Unto you first, God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, that each one of you might turn from his iniquities.

⁵ ¶ Peter therefore was kept in the prison, and the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} made prayer without unto God for him.

²¹ ¶ After these things were ended, Paul purposed by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem, after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, After I have been there, it behooves me to see Rome also.

¹⁴ But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call a sect, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets,

²³ For the angel of God stood by me this night, whose I am and whom I serve,

¹ ¶ I say the truth in Christ, I do not lie, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit,

¹⁴ For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ ¶ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

²³ Moreover I call God for a witness upon my soul that I have not yet come unto Corinth to spare you.

¹⁰ It is the truth of Christ in me that this glory shall not be sealed up unto me in the regions of Achaia. ¹¹ Why? because I do not love you? God knows.

³¹ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed for evermore, knows that I do not lie.

²⁰ Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I do not lie.

¹⁶ cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; ¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; ¹⁸ illuminating the eyes of your understanding, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints ¹⁹ and what is the exceeding greatness of his power in us who believe, by the operation of the power of his strength,

¹⁴ ¶ For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ ¹⁵ (of whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named), ¹⁶ that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man, ¹⁷ that the Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, that ye, being rooted and grounded in charity, ¹⁸ may be able to well comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height ¹⁹ and to know the charity of the Christ, which passes all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. ²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, ²¹ unto him be glory in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} by Christ Jesus throughout all generations of the ages of the ages. Amen.

¹⁸ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching in this with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

⁴ always in every prayer of mine for you all, making request with joy,

⁸ For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. ⁹ ¶ And this I pray that your charity may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all perception, ¹⁰ that ye may approve the best, that ye may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ, ¹¹ being filled with fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

²² But ye know the proof of him, that as a son with the father, he has served with me in the gospel.

³ For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.

⁹ ¶ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, asking that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, ¹⁰ that ye might walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in everything, being fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God, ¹¹ strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness, ¹² ¶ giving thanks unto the Father, who has made us worthy to participate in the inheritance of the saints in light, ¹³ who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son,

²⁸ whom we preach, warning every man and teaching in all wisdom that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, ²⁹ in which I continue to labour, contending according to his operation, which he works in me mightily.

² ¶ We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers,

⁵ For we were never flatterers in the word, as ye know, nor tainted with covetousness, God is witness, ⁶ nor did we seek glory of men neither of you nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome unto you as the apostles of Christ. ⁷ ¶ But we were gentle among you, as a mother feeding and caring for her children, ⁸ loving you so much, that we were willing to give unto you, not only the gospel of God, but even our own souls, because ye are dear unto us. ⁹ For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail, for labouring night and day, not to be a burden unto any of you, we preached among you the gospel of God. ¹⁰ Ye are witnesses, and God also, of how holy and just and irreprehensible our behaviour was among you that believe,

¹⁰ night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face and might complete that which is lacking in your faith?

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

⁷ of which I am ordained a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ and do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

³ I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with a pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day, ⁴ I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,

⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he has testified of his Son. ¹⁰ ¶ He that believes in the Son of God has the witness of God in himself; he that does not believe God has made God a liar; because he does not believe the witness that God has testified of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the witness, that God has given eternal life to us, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He that has the Son has life; and he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.
