A Psalm of Asaph. ¶ Sing aloud unto God our strength; make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. ² Take the song and play the timbrel, the harp of joy with the psaltery. ³ Blow the shofar in the new moon in the time appointed on our solemn feast day. ⁴ For this is a statute of Israel and an ordinance of the God of Jacob. ⁵ This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt where I heard a language that I did not understand. ⁶ I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were delivered from working with clay. ⁷ Thou didst call in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah. ⁸ ¶ Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee; O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me, ⁹ no strange god shall be in thee, neither shalt thou worship any strange god. ¹⁰ I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. ¹¹ But my people did not hearken to my voice, and Israel did not love me. ¹² So I gave them up unto the hardness of their heart, and they walked in their own counsels. ¹³ Oh, if my people would hearken unto me and Israel would walk in my ways! ¹⁴ I would soon subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their adversaries. ¹⁵ The haters of the LORD would have submitted themselves unto him, and their time would endure for ever. ¹⁶ And God would have fed them also the finest of the wheat, and with honey out of the rock I would have satisfied thee.

³ ¶ And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for certainly he is flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

¹⁷ So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren and their sin, for they did unto thee evil; and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the slaves of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spoke unto him.

¹⁴ and they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, making mortar and brick and in all manner of service in the field; all their service, in which they made them serve, was with rigor.

²³ ¶ And it came to pass in process of time that the king of Egypt died, and the sons of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God from their bondage.

⁶ Therefore say unto the sons of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will free you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm and with great judgments.

⁴ ¶ And Moses said, The LORD hath said thus, About midnight I will go out into the midst of Egypt,

⁹ And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.

¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both among man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the LORD.

²⁷ That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the LORD’s passover, who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians and delivered our houses. Then the people bowed and worshipped.

²⁹ ¶ And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the animals.

⁸ And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when he brought me out of Egypt. ⁹ And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand and for a memorial before thine eyes, that the LORD’s law may be in thy mouth; for with a strong hand the LORD has brought thee out of Egypt.

¹⁴ And it shall be when thy son asks thee in time to come, saying, What is this? Thou shalt say unto him, With a strong hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery; ¹⁵ and it came to pass when Pharaoh was hardening himself to not let us go that the LORD slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt from the human firstborn to the firstborn of the beast; therefore, I sacrifice to the LORD every male that opens the womb, and I ransom every firstborn of my sons. ¹⁶ And it shall be for a token upon thy hand, and for a memorial before thine eyes: That the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand.

¹⁰ ¶ And when Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they feared greatly, and the sons of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

²⁴ And it came to pass that in the morning watch the LORD looked at the camp of the Egyptians in the pillar of fire and of cloud and troubled the camp of the Egyptians

³⁰ Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. ³¹ And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did against the Egyptians; and the people feared the LORD and believed the LORD and his slave Moses.

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

²⁶ and said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the LORD thy Healer.

² And the people chided with Moses and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? Why do ye tempt the LORD? ³ So the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses and said, Why hast thou brought us up out of Egypt to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst? ⁴ Then Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me. ⁵ And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people and take with thee of the elders of Israel and thy rod, with which thou didst smite the river take in thine hand and go. ⁶ Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb, and thou shalt smite the rock, and water shall come out of it that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. ⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah because of the chiding of the sons of Israel and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

¹⁹ And the voice of the shofar sounded long and waxed louder and louder; Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

² I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt out of the house of slavery. ³ Thou shalt have no other gods before me. ⁴ Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath nor that is in the water under the earth. ⁵ Thou shalt not bow down to them nor serve them; for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons unto the third and fourth generation of those that hate me

¹⁸ ¶ And all the people saw the thunderings and the lightnings and the noise of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. ¹⁹ And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us lest we die. ²⁰ Then Moses said unto the people, Fear not, for God is come to prove you and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. ²¹ Then the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

¹ ¶ And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron and said unto him, Rise up, make us gods which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

²⁴ Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, In the seventh month in the first day of the month, ye shall have a rest, an alarm for a reminder, and a holy convocation. ²⁵ Ye shall do no servile work therein; but ye shall offer an offering on fire unto the LORD.

¹ ¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, ² Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them that thou may use them for the convocation of the congregation and for the moving of the camp. ³ And when they shall blow them, all the congregation shall join themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. ⁴ But when they blow only one, then the princes, who are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee. ⁵ When ye blow an alarm, then ye shall move the camp of those that are lodged towards the east. ⁶ And when ye blow an alarm the second time, then ye shall move the camp of those that are lodged on the side of the Negev; they shall blow an alarm for their journeys. ⁷ But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm. ⁸ And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and you shall have them as a perpetual statute throughout your generations. ⁹ And when ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. ¹⁰ Also in the day of your gladness and in your solemn days and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace, that they may be to you for a memorial before your God; I AM your God.

⁹ Therefore, do not be rebels against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land, for they are our bread; their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us; do not fear them.

⁴⁵ Then the Amalekite came down and the Canaanite who dwelt in that hill and smote them and defeated them, pursuing them unto Hormah.

³ and will make an offering on fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering or a sacrifice, to offer a vow or of your free will or to make in your solemn feasts an acceptable savour unto the LORD, of the cows, or of the sheep,

¹³ These are the waters of Meribah; over which the sons of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

²⁴ Aaron shall be gathered unto his peoples; for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the sons of Israel because ye were rebels to my word at the water of Meribah.

¹¹ And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD: two young bullocks, and one ram, seven lambs of the first year without spot;

⁴⁵ These are the testimonies and the statutes and the rights, which Moses spoke unto the sons of Israel after they came forth out of Egypt,

²⁷ Go thou near and hear all that the LORD our God shall say, and thou shalt tell us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.

²⁹ O that there were such a heart in them that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always that it might be well with them and with their children for ever!

¹⁴ Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are round about you

¹⁰ and repays him that hates him to his face, to destroy him; he will not be slack to him that hates him; he will repay him to his face.

¹² ¶ And now, Israel, what does the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways and to love him and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, ¹³ to keep the commandments of the LORD and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

¹⁵ Seven days shalt thou celebrate a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose; because the LORD thy God shall have blessed thee in all thy fruits and in all the works of thine hands, therefore, thou shalt truly be glad.

⁴⁹ The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand,

¹² so the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. ¹³ He made him ride on the high places of the earth that he might eat the fruits of the field; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock and oil out of the strong flint, ¹⁴ butter of cows and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs and rams of the sons of Bashan (or fruitfulness) and goats with the fat of kidneys, of wheat; and thou didst drink the blood of the grape, pure wine. ¹⁵ ¶ But Jeshurun (the upright one) waxed fat and kicked; (thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou hast covered thyself) and forsook the God who made him and lightly esteemed the strong One of his saving health.

¹⁸ Of the strong One that begat thee thou art unmindful and hast forgotten the God that travailed for thee.

²⁹ O that they were wise, if they were prudent, they would understand their latter end!

⁴⁶ and he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I protest against you today, to command them unto your children and keep and fulfil all the words of this law.

⁸ ¶ And to Levi he said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah and with whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah,

¹³ know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no longer drive out any of these Gentiles from before you, but they shall be snares and traps unto you and scourges in your sides and thorns in your eyes until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

²⁰ And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he said, Because these people transgress my covenant which I commanded their fathers and do not hearken unto my voice; ²¹ neither will I drive out any longer from before them any of these Gentiles which Joshua left when he died, ²² that through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD by walking therein as their fathers kept it, or not. ²³ Therefore, the LORD left those Gentiles, without driving them out hastily; neither did he deliver them into the hand of Joshua.

⁸ And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside from the way to see the carcase of the lion; and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion. ⁹ And he took of it in his hands and went along the way eating, and when he came to his father and mother, he also gave them some to eat, but he did not tell them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.

¹⁸ And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion? And he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye would have never discovered my enigma.

²⁵ And the army of all the land came to a wood, and there was honey upon the ground. ²⁶ And when the people were come into the wood, behold, the honey dropped, but no man put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.

²³ And he said, Why must thou go to him today? It is neither new moon nor sabbath. And she said, Peace.

²⁴ And Shebaniah, Jehoshaphat, Nethaneel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before the ark of God; and Obededom and Jehiah were also doorkeepers for the ark.

⁶ and Benaiah and Jahaziel, the priests, with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.

⁴² And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals to sound, and with other musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

⁴ Behold, I must build a house unto the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him and to burn aromatic incense before him and for the continual showbread and for the burnt offerings morning and evening on the sabbaths and on the new moons and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God, which is to be perpetual in Israel.

¹² and the Levite singers, all of those of Asaph, those of Heman, and those of Jeduthun, together with their sons and their brethren, being clothed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets).

¹³ that each thing might be offered in its day, according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths and on the new moons and on the feasts three times in the year, that is in the feast of unleavened bread and in the feast of weeks and in the feast of the tabernacles.

¹² And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for ye shall not prosper.

¹⁴ So when Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind; and they cried unto the LORD, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.

⁴ Because thy sons sinned against him, he cast them away in the place of their rebellion;

⁶ when I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil!

A Psalm of David. ¶ O LORD our Lord, how great is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy praise above the heavens.

¹ To the Overcomer, A Psalm of David, the slave of the LORD, who spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: And he said, ¶ I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. ² The LORD is my rock and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

⁴⁴ As soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me: the sons of strangers submitted themselves unto me even against their will. ⁴⁵ The strangers fell away and were afraid in their close places.

⁷ The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise him.

¹ ¶ Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous, for to the upright praise is beautiful. ² Celebrate unto the LORD with harp; sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. ³ Sing unto him a new song; play unto excellence with joy.

³ Beth Wait in the LORD and do good; live in the land and uphold the truth. ⁴ In the same manner delight thyself in the LORD, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart.

²⁰ If we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god,

Selah. ⁴ There is a river, the streams of which shall make glad the city of God, the sanctuary of the tents of the most High. ⁵ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God shall help her, as the morning dawns. ⁶ ¶ The Gentiles raged, the kingdoms were moved; he uttered his voice, the earth melted. ⁷ The LORD of the hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. ⁷ ¶ Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee; I am God, even thy God.

⁷ Behold, this is the man that did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

A testimony of Asaph: A Psalm. ¶ Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubim, shine forth. ² In the presence of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength and come and save us.

² For, behold, thine enemies make a tumult, and those that hate thee have lifted up their head. ³ They have taken prudent counsel in secret against thy people and consulted against thy hidden ones. ⁴ They have said, Come and let us cut them off from being a people that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. ⁵ Therefore they have consulted together with one consent; they are confederate against thee: ⁶ The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; of Moab and the Hagarenes; ⁷ Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; ⁸ Assur also is joined with them: they are an arm unto the sons of Lot. Selah. ⁹ ¶ Do unto them as unto the Midianites, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison, ¹⁰ who perished at Endor; they became as dung for the earth. ¹¹ Make them and their captains like Oreb and like Zeeb; all their princes as Zebah and as Zalmunna: ¹² Who have said, Let us inherit for ourselves the habitations of God. ¹³ O my God, make them like a whirlwind, as the stubble before the wind. ¹⁴ As the fire burns a wood and as the flame sets the mountains on fire ¹⁵ so persecute them with thy tempest and make them afraid with thy whirlwind. ¹⁶ Fill their faces with shame that they may seek thy name, O LORD. ¹⁷ Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and perish ¹⁸ That they may know that thou, whose name alone is LORD, art the most high over all the earth.

¹⁴ Because he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name. ¹⁵ He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.

³ upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a pleasant sound.

¹ ¶ O come, let us bring joy unto the LORD; let us sing with joy unto the rock of our saving health. ² Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and sing unto him with joy.

⁶ With trumpets and the sound of the shofar make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King.

¹ ¶ Halelu-JAH. Sing unto the LORD a new song, let his praise be in the congregation of the merciful. ² Let Israel rejoice with his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful with their King. ³ Let them praise his name in the dance; let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

³⁰ They rejected my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

¹⁹ If ye are willing and hearken, ye shall eat the good of the land;

⁴ For thou hast broken his heavy yoke and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

²⁷ And it shall come to pass in that day that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be consumed in the presence of the anointing.

¹¹ For with stammering lips and another tongue he will speak to this people.

¹ ¶ Woe to the sons that leave, saith the LORD, to make counsel, but not of me; to cover themselves with a covering, and not by my spirit, adding sin unto sin!

¹² I have declared and have saved, and I have showed when there was no strange god among you; therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

¹⁸ O that thou would look unto my commandments! Then thy peace would be as a river and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

³ Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an eternal covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. ⁴ Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a captain and teacher to the peoples.

²² They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of the trees shall be the days of my people, and my elect shall perpetuate the work of their hands.

¹¹ Has a nation changed their gods? Even though they are not gods. But my people have changed their glory for that which does not profit. ¹² Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this; and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, said the LORD. ¹³ For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters to hew them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

¹⁵ Behold, I will bring a nation upon you from afar, O house of Israel, saith the LORD; it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou dost not know, neither dost thou understand what they say.

²³ But this thing I commanded them, saying, Hear my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the way that I have commanded you that it may be well unto you. ²⁴ But they did not hearken, nor incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels in the imagination of their evil heart and went backward, and not forward

¹⁶ As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. ¹⁷ But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth to burn incense unto the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

⁶ Vau And he has violently taken away his tabernacle as if it were of a garden; he has destroyed his congregation; the LORD has caused the solemnities and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion and has rejected in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

²⁰ and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God.

²⁴ And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.

²⁰ But Judah shall dwell for ever; and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

⁸ And I will cut off the inhabitants of Ashdod and him that holds the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Palestinians shall perish, said the Lord GOD.

⁶ that drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments, but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

¹⁵ Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that brings good tidings, of him that publishes peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows; for Belial shall no longer pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

¹¹ But they refused to hearken and pulled away the shoulder and stopped their ears that they should not hear.

⁷ ¶ Awake, O sword, upon the pastor and upon the man that is my fellow, said the LORD of the hosts; smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered; and I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

¹¹ Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of the LORD by loving and marrying the daughter of a strange god.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

³² I AM the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that didst kill the prophets and stone those who are sent unto thee, how often I desired to gather thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

²⁶ And when they had sung the hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

⁴¹ ¶ And when he was come near, he beheld the city and wept over it, ⁴² saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

¹¹ Verily, verily, I say unto thee that we speak what we know and testify that which we have seen, and ye do not receive our witness.

³² And what he has seen and heard, that he testifies; and no one receives his testimony. ³³ He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true.

³⁷ ¶ In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If any man thirsts, let him come unto me and drink.

⁷ If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

²² If I had not come and spoken unto them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. ²³ He that hates me hates my Father also.

²³ ¶ And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give you.

⁴² ¶ Then God withdrew and gave them up to worship the host of the heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness?

¹⁶ who in generations past suffered all the Gentiles to walk in their own ways.

²¹ testifying both to the Jews and also to the Gentiles, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁴ Therefore God also gave them over to the lusts of their own hearts for uncleanness, to contaminate their own bodies between themselves,

²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto shameful affections, for even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature; ²⁷ and likewise also the males, leaving the natural use of the females, burned in their lust one toward another, males with males committing nefarious works and receiving in themselves the recompense that proceeded from their error.

³⁰ backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

⁷ because the prudence of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, neither indeed can it.

⁵ For though there are some that are called gods, whether in heaven or in the earth (as there are many gods and many lords), ⁶ but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

²¹ ¶ In the law it is written, In other tongues and with other lips I will speak unto this people; and yet for all that, they will not hear me, saith the Lord. ²² Therefore, tongues are for a sign, not to those that believe, but to those that do not believe; but prophecy is not for those that do not believe, but for those who believe.

¹⁹ and to know the charity of the Christ, which passes all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. ²⁰ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

¹⁹ speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts,

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

¹⁶ ¶ Let no one therefore judge you in food or in drink or in respect of a feast day or of the new moon or of the sabbath days,

¹⁶ Let the word of the Christ dwell in you in abundance in all wisdom, teaching you and exhorting you one to another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with grace singing in your hearts unto the Lord.

⁹ that wicked one, who shall come by the working of Satan with great power and signs and lying miracles, ¹⁰ and with all deception of iniquity working in those that perish because they did not receive the charity of the truth, to be saved. ¹¹ Therefore, for this cause, God shall send the operation of error in them, that they should believe the lie;

²⁹ Of how much greater punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who has trodden underfoot the Son of God and has counted the blood of the covenant, with which he was sanctified, an unholy thing and has done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

¹³ Is anyone among you afflicted? let them pray. Is anyone happy? let them sing.

⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he has testified of his Son.

⁶ And he said unto me, It is done. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come; and whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely.
