¹⁹ How they are brought into desolation, as in a moment! They have come to an end; they are utterly consumed with terrors.

²¹ Separate yourselves from among this congregation, and I will consume them in a moment.

¹² Then the sons of Israel spoke unto Moses, saying, Behold, we are dead, we are lost, we are all lost. ¹³ Anyone who comes near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die; shall we all perish?

²⁰ ¶ Then Saul, as great as he was, fell suddenly to the earth and was sore afraid because of the words of Samuel; and there was no strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all that day nor all that night.

²¹ Fearful sounds are in his ears; in peace the destroyer shall come upon him.

¹¹ ¶ Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and his own feet shall drive him away.

⁵ that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

²³ ¶ When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him and shall rain it upon him and upon his food. ²⁴ He shall flee from the weapons of iron, and the bow of bronze shall strike him through. ²⁵ He shall draw forth an arrow from his quiver, and like lightning it shall strike through his gall; terrors shall come upon him.

⁹ Before your pots can feel the fire of the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

¹ ¶ The wicked flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a young lion.

³ Therefore my loins are filled with pain; pangs have taken hold upon me as the pangs of a woman that travails; I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. ⁴ My heart panted; the horror frightened me; the night of my pleasure he has turned into fear unto me.

¹³ Therefore this sin shall be to you as an open wall ready to fall and as a breach in a high defence, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.

¹¹ Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from where it rises; and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and destruction shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.

⁶ Then the king became pale, and his thoughts troubled him, and the girdings of his loins were unloosed, and his knees smote one against another.

²³ him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain,

³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

¹⁰ Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city; for in one hour is thy judgment come!
