⁵ The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou dost maintain my lot.

⁹ For the LORD’s portion is his people; Jacob is the measuring line of his inheritance.

⁶ Yet I have set my king upon Zion, the mountain of my holiness.

⁴ For thou hast accomplished my judgment and my cause; thou didst sit in the throne judging according to righteousness.

⁶ Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, with winds of whirlwinds: this shall be the portion of their cup.

⁷ ¶ For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved. ⁸ Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies; thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. ⁹ Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger; the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. ¹⁰ Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth and their seed from among the children of men. ¹¹ For they intended evil against thee; they imagined a wicked device, but they did not prevail. ¹² Therefore shalt thou separate them; thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

⁵ Thou shalt prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup is running over.

⁶ Thou wilt add days upon days unto the king’s life; his years shall be from generation to generation. ⁷ He shall abide before God for ever; He is aware of mercy and truth which preserve him.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart fail; the strength of my heart is that God is my portion for ever.

⁴ Thy seed will I establish for ever and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

²⁰ I have found David my slave; I anointed him with the oil of my holiness, ²¹ with whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him. ²² The enemy shall not overcome him, nor the son of iniquity break him down. ²³ But I will break down his foes before his face and smite those that hate him. ²⁴ But my truth and my mercy shall be with him, and in my name shall his horn be exalted. ²⁵ In the same manner I will set his hand also in the sea and his right hand in the rivers. ²⁶ He shall call me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my saving health. ²⁷ Also I will make him my firstborn, high above the kings of the earth. ²⁸ I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. ²⁹ I will also make his seed to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of the heavens. ³⁰ If his sons forsake my law and do not walk in my judgments, ³¹ if they profane my statutes and do not keep my commandments, ³² then I will visit their rebellion with the rod and their iniquity with stripes. ³³ Nevertheless I will not take my mercy from him, neither will I falsify my truth. ³⁴ I will not profane my covenant, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. ³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. ³⁶ His seed shall endure for ever and his throne as the sun before me. ³⁷ It shall be established for ever as the moon and as a faithful witness in heaven. ¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. ² The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion; rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

¹³ I will take the cup of saving health and invoke the name of the LORD.

⁵⁷ ¶ CHETH My portion, O LORD, I have said, will be to keep thy words.

³ For the rod of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous because the righteous shall not put forth their hands unto iniquity.

¹¹ ¶ The LORD has sworn truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body I will set upon thy throne.

¹⁷ There will I make the horn of David to bud; I have ordained a lamp for my anointed. ¹⁸ His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon himself shall his crown blossom.

⁵ I cried unto thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my hope and my portion in the land of the living.

¹ ¶ Behold my slave, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he shall give judgment unto the Gentiles.

¹² Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil unto the strong because he has poured out his soul unto death, and he was numbered with the rebellious, having born the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

¹⁶ The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the Former of all things, and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of the hosts is his name.

²⁴ Chet The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore I will wait for him.

³² This Jesus God has raised up, of whom we all are witnesses.

³¹ God has exalted him with his right hand as Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
