⁴ The LORD is righteous; he has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

¹⁵ O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous; for we have an escape, as it is this day, behold us here, before thee in our guiltiness; for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

³³ Howbeit thou art just in all that has come upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly;

¹³⁷ ¶ TZADDI. Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments.

⁶ ¶ Blessed be the LORD, who did not give us as a prey to their teeth. ⁷ Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare has broken, and we are escaped.

⁵ The proud have hid a snare for me and cords; they have spread a net; on the path they have set snares for me. Selah. ⁶ I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. ⁷ O GOD the Lord, the strength of my saving health, cover thou my head in the day of battle. ⁸ ¶ Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not further his wicked thought lest they exalt themselves. Selah. ⁹ As for the head of those that compass me about, let the perversion of their own lips cover them. ¹⁰ Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they not rise up again. ¹¹ The man with an evil tongue shall not be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the man of violence to overthrow him.

¹⁸ Tzaddi The LORD is righteous, for I have rebelled against his mouth; hear now, all the peoples and see my sorrow; my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.

²² Chet It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed because his mercies never diminish.

⁷ O Lord, the righteousness belongs unto thee, but unto us the confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near and that are far off through all the lands where thou hast driven them because of their rebellion with which they have rebelled against thee.
