⁷ Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare has broken, and we are escaped.

²⁶ And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain; and David made haste to get away from the presence of Saul, for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them. ²⁷ But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Make haste and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land.

¹⁴ After whom is the king of Israel come out? After whom dost thou pursue? After a dead dog? After a flea? ¹⁵ The LORD, therefore, shall judge, and he shall judge between me and thee. Let him see and plead my cause, and defend me from thy hand.

²⁹ Yet a man is risen to pursue thee and to seek thy soul, but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God, and he shall hurl forth the souls of thine enemies as out of the middle of a sling.

² and I will come upon him while he is weary and weak-handed and will make him afraid, and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only.

²¹ And it came to pass, after they had departed, that they came up out of the well and went and told King David and said unto David, Arise and pass quickly over the water, for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you. ²² ¶ Then David arose and all the people that were with him, and they passed over the Jordan before the morning light; there lacked not one of them that was not gone over the Jordan.

¹⁵ ¶ Samech Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD, for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

³ Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence.

⁵ Escape as a roe from the hand of the hunter and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.

²⁶ For among my people were found wicked men: they lay in wait as he that sets snares; they set a trap of perdition to catch men.

²² Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them; for they have dug a pit to take me and hid snares for my feet.

²⁶ and that they may become converted out of the snare of the devil, in which they are captive to do his will.
